Good explanation, but it'd be helpful to keep the diagram on screen when you explain the anatomy instead of just flash them and remove them before we could even settle our eyes on them. Why remove them so quickly ? Your hand gesture is good, but without the bones picture, it's much harder to understand. So I'd much rather look at the bones picture.

Crouch walking has helped me a lot. Especially walking on carpet. I previously had hip replacement surgery in 2019, in late 23, drop foot symptoms began. I didn't know what it was. The cause is still not known so I pick up tips from various videos.

Hello Dr. Tara. Thank you for this video. I am definitely going to try this as I feel I don't have the full range in my ankle after the stroke. I also have one more question which is about Toe curling. My 4 toes curl downward and the thumb remains neutral when I walk. This makes walking very difficult as I cannot land my foot flat on the ground. I've consulted multiple physiotherapists for this but sadly no one has been able to help me with this particular problem. I've regained almost full functionality of my affected leg but only the toes are still stuck. Could you please advise if the streches suggested in this video might help with my issue? And if you have addressed this particular issue in any of your other videos please link me to that video. Thank you!

@rehabhqofficial
@rehabhqofficial 2 года назад
Thanks for watching and for the question! If your afo is articulated (has a joint at the ankle) and there is a strap that goes over the top of the ankle, yes. The reason is that the strap will help to hold the talus in place so you can focus on the ankle stretch. I hope that helps!

Stretching tight muscles will never help in leg it term. Spasticity is when the opposite muscle is overactive and the other is weak/ paralyzed. After stretching the brain will ever more contract. So the only solution is to improve the weak connection.... or living forever with the ‚crippled ‚ illness.
