In my humble experience, your foot will randomly help you find those bits when you least expect it, usually when the lights are off and a year later. Particularly the sharpest edge of said newly found bits! 😜

I used the Red Fox set for my 1/32 Tamiya P-51. They really look great. I'll definitely use them again on future projects. Love the videos Hank!

Hey, man! Just wanted to say that I started scale modeling a couple months ago and have found your videos super helpful. Your basics videos and walkthroughs have really helped me be less overwhelmed and know where to start. Thanks for your fine work!

We have a similar problem in gun smithing, especially with AR-15’s. If you’re installing or removing the takedown pin spring and you’re not careful, it’ll zip off into the ether as you mentioned, and god help you if you have a carpeted floor, lol.

I just started a build of a 1/48 F/A 18 and naturally started with the cockpit area, I’m terrible with doing decals that small, with your tips and tricks I can now do a better job in the future, thanks Hank

Haha....that great scale model parts and bits repository also known as the Ethereal Plane. This transition to parts unknown is usually accompanied by significant fowl language by previous owner. Good vid...thanks.

Hi Hank, I noticed that you were struggling a bit in placing those parts with tweezers; I have found that taking a regular Crayola crayon is a superior tool for placing tiny parts strategically on a model. The wax in the crayon has just enough stickiness to hold the part and place it exactly where it needs to go. Just a gentle slight twist releases the part. Works like a charm each time. I prefer regular White crayon to make it easier (by contrast) to see the part and exactly where it will be seated. Give it a try and let us know if it works for you. I will be ordering some of those Red Fox instrument panels. Thanks for the great review. Cheers!

@SpruesNBrews
@SpruesNBrews Год назад
Nice! That's a great kit as well - the Bf-109 you're building is an E-4/7 variant, and Tamiya originally released it in 1998. The one that I'm working on here is the G-6 variant, which Tamiya released in 2017. The G-6 has options for both open & closed engine cowlings, as well as choices for positioning the flaps up or down. Quite a few more options with the G model, but they're both fantastic kits. I've built a few of the E-4s & it's one of my favorites. Enjoy!

These definitely look like a go - checked out your links and you can really see how these pop out a cockpit in the 1/32 Mig 21 due to the Russian unusual cockpit colors. I'm desperately looking for a crew members for 72, 48 , 24 and 32CD scales do ya know of a company like these guys who fit the bill.? Enjoying the new format, if that B-17 on your wall is missing one day, I'm your first suspect :-)
@SpruesNBrews
@SpruesNBrews Год назад
Haha I'll keep an eye out for it to go missing! As for crew figures, I'd give ultracast a look - I've had a lot of success with their 1/48 scale options 👍

@@SpruesNBrewsHank, Thanks for the reference on Ultrafast - they are truly awesome. Getting back into the modeling game after years, I'm slowly climbing back up the learning curve, your advice and videos have accelerated the new world. Thanks again. Now I need to adjust my " brew" budget :-) but is well worth it.

Carpet monster 1 - Hank 0ish (good excuse for an adult beverage, so maybe a tie? LoL) These Red Fox detail sets can really up the cockpit game and are coming out for so many kits now. Really good match for an Eduard PE upgrade.

Great video Hank. Do you find you have enough time to place the "decals" using super glue vs one that is a little less aggressive?
@SpruesNBrews
@SpruesNBrews Год назад
Thanks! I did have enough time to manipulate the panels before the glue set. I wasn't sure if I would, but the Krazy Glue I used got the job done just fine 👍
