Houston city leaders are expressing support for a bill filed to incentivize hiring police officers with military experience. one local police officer is a prime example.
I want to join the marines and do infantry than be a police officer and I was told not to do it cause it will be hard cause depending how I’m on ptsd or my mind it’s harder to be a police officer is that true?
It's more like the infantry is going to take a large toll on you're body. I'm not in the infantry I'm in the utilities field in the Marine corps but I know many guys that I joined with in the infantry. Half got out due to stress on the body. My brother in 2/4 has sevier back issues due to the infantries way of life. I recomend going as an mp to help with you're carrier as a police officer. But its you're choice
No ptsd because the army doesnt fight anymore unless your special forces which realistically doesnt happen to 99percent of best soldiers dont get into. So go do the military then go police. Military service looks great when going for any job afterwards
I’m currently infantry in the marine corps and the answer is no, you will be fine yeah you’ll have some aches and pains but it’ll help you from that experience in the long run
Y'all do know there was a military veteran who became a cop who was put in a situation with an armed black man except he got the person to put down the gun and talk to them and realized they were depressed and trying to get killed in a death by cop situation. He was later fired for not doing his job. And the black man he was talking to was killed by two rooky officers that arrived on the scene. Keep in mind only about 20% of active police actually served
Maam/Sir Helo there, may I know to everyone who have the knowledge if a retired like me here in the Philippinnes can apply for a police force in America, Im 44 years old right now..
That doesn't work at all. You have to be an American citizen to work for any police force in America that goes for local police, County sheriff and state police or even federal police you have to be an American citizen to sign up
And most police departments don't really allow people over the age of 37 to join the police force unless if you are a United States military veteran but Most states don't have age requirements so you being from Philippines all you really need to do is become a US citizen but it's going to be a longer process
