Cesar bring such a dynamic energy to the group. Layne went all-in on the percussion for this. Plus his singing is a joy to hear. The arrangement is something else.
Me: "How cold they possibly make this song a cappella and keep the original power and intensity?" VP: "Hold my beer..." 😁😁 The more I listen to this one, the more I like it, and the more goosebumps I get all through it. 🙂 Thank you for your reaction. Your expressions told the whole story, and you even spoke on top of that! 😅 See you nest time. 🙂
Phil is my favorite pop singer and I think VoicePlay just bested him at his own song. Dang this was amazing!! Fun fact: that car belongs to Layne's dad.
Agree 100% now I wanna hear them to Paradise. Tho if they wanted to pull out his Genesis work, I Can't Dance or Land of confusion would be amazing. And if they did Invisible Touch my life would be complete.
What is astounding is how good they are together. I keep thinking that they are at the top of their game but they keep getting better and better. I don't think anyone can catch them at this point. Wow!!! I loved this song before it was a classic and I love it even more here. Eli has really blossomed and man can he sing it. Layne and Geoff just made it work. Cesar's look just brought those lyrics to the surface in disgust.
The setting, the car, the lights, the smoke, the glitches -- all hark back to to Miami Vice, an extremely influential TV show in the80's. If you went to Miami during the show's run, you'd see lots of guys in the clothes, the cars, and the boats used on the show. The show was one of the first to use popular music to help set the mood for the action. This is Miami Viceplay.
They really do keep one-upping themselves! This song has never really done it for me but VP's version rocks!! A little bit of Layne lead (as well as his always awesome vocal perc) and some Cesar lower baritone register was great to hear and, of course, him, J and Eli flexing their range as well. Then there was Geoff, Geoff-ing in his inimitable style. Love it!
Now you know they don't use instruments. And I'm sure you know that Geoff wasn't born singing that low. lol He's worked hard on it for years. Layne did sterling duty with those iconic drums. Just brilliant. As always.
VoicePlay SLAYED with this as their weapon of choice. Anyone who disagrees deserves to listen to people who are so bad at singing, being tone deaf is NOT a legitimate excuse.
Came back here to watch your reaction again....cause I love your reactions! When you talk about Cesar's facial expressions....which I totally agree with....then you so need to react to VoicePlay's newest cover (Creep by Radiohead)....Cesar makes you want to cry with him 😭. Eli is phenomenal in his arrangement! The entire group slayed it...hit every emotion. Please listen soon!
I don’t think they have taken a song yet and not made it more than the original. This just gave everyone their time. This here should be the final 5 piece when J’s service is done. Still Colab but this is the core.
An iconic cover of an iconic song. The guys took this to another level and outdid Phil at his own song. Jeeze what a performance. I'd really love to hear and see them cover Another Day In Paradise. I would die.
Thank you Denis for another great reaction to Voice Play. There are no words great enough to describe how awesome this is. I absolutely love Voice Play.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Pretty sure the sound effect at the beginning, and Cesar's distortion later on, is a megaphone they've shown in other videos. (I know it's a Deejay Young video, maybe "Best Friend"?) There is also the Voicetone X1 microphone, it does amazing distortion effects that sound exactly like this and probably what they use in the studio.
