Unless he modified it since ... I built it with stage 2 injectors ... 20-25 lbs boost and turned the pump up a little by sliding the fuel plate forward and AFC mods .. so yes .. more power over stock but wanted to keep EGT's down

Don't know .. but any truck that has the 6b Cummins will fit the pickup Cummins too! My stuff came out of a 6000 Ford and tranny from an F70 Freightliner.

Yep .. at idle speed at that! I had a 5th wheel hooked up and loaded a 550 John Deere dozer and it would take off in low gear at idle ... in the grass.

I had this one apart, was gonna swap around some gears to make it overdrive but found out it can't be done on this baby roadranger rt6609a.

@@RatRodBobBuilds when you shown that camera up under there I knew immediately what it was. With that said it wasn't good enough look to tell you what size it was. Yes sir some can and some can't be made an overdrive.

I got everything off the back of a 6b in a Ford F700 I think it was. So you're gonna have to find a commercial truck with a 6b Cummins for parts!

I did mine the old school way with a bell crank on the chassis and a rod to the pedal and one to the clutch arm. I had an ole 78 Ford F350 4 speed and used (modified) those parts.

Spicer 3053 is the Transmission that the Deuce & A Half had for many years,with Overdrive.I use to own a 1971 M35A2 and 1967 M109A3 and have had a couple of other 2 1/2 Ton Trucks over time.I loved the way the 7.8L sounds,espiecally with a 3LC-319 (1C) Turbo but the Multi Fuel is one brick and turd of a Engine,in a truck like a Deuce they will handle weight but they do not withstand alot of Mileage.So when I got my M35A2 up to 60K Miles and did a Rebuild since I had to replace Gaskets,Hydraulic Head Seals,Rod Bearings,and Canisters as well as Injectors,I decided to get a 6BT and then sold it off after I installed Marine Parts in it.

Bob, thanks for the info. The truck already has an sae bellhousing, but not sure which number. I think it uses a push clutch currently. It has an Eaton 6 speed in it with the starter on the driver side. Truck has a 5.9L cummins 24 valve in it.

@@ryanbailey5102 The 5.9L and 8.3L are both 12 Valve Cummins,the 6.7L and even 53 Block is the 24 Valve Cummins.

+Bob Coates thanks for the reply I believe I got lucky.. they say a flywheel from a 8.3 has the same pattern as a 5.9.

No lift on this one. I had to modify(cut) the fenders front and rear all the way around to clear the tires. Even the bumper cover so that the front of the front tires would clear. The rear of the front tires needed the most clearance.

Rat Rod Bob Builds did you cut the fender at all? I don’t mind doing some cutting I could probably use a mud flap maybe to cover any imperfections up possibly. That truck is very nice! I really want to get the bigger tires so I can run higher highway speeds

@@weepweep2225 Yea ... this was a frame off build and yes I did cut the fenders .. so you're gonna have to pull the fenders and cut em if you want it to look good or you can just take a sawzall and wack em. . I done mine after I got the tires and wheels so I would know how much to cut. It's either that or a lift kit or low profiles.

It's from a cab a chassis Dodge 1 ton which is 4.5" more narrow than the 1 ton pickup rear end.

Awesome. I’m in the process of converting my 1997 2500 to 10 lug dually and I’m planning to use the factory Dana 70 SRW axle to keep the wheels tucked in tighter. I’ll have to tub the fenders as well since the 70 is about 4” narrower than the 80 dually axle.

Once you get into the high gears, the transmission ratios are about the same as a normal pick-up truck. The difference is in the low gears, where he can probably generate enough torque to fold the truck's frame in half :P

Sorry Josey .. I don't build trucks on demand ... but maybe some other builder would chime in ... but to give you an idea ... I spent $20,000 on parts (mostly used parts) and about 1000 shop hours ... shop hours average $60 .. so you're looking at $80,000 .... $100,000 if you don't shop around for used parts. So .. you would be better off trying to locate this truck and purchase it from the owner.

Well I am sorry to hear that. That looks like it was worth every penny slickest build i have ever seen as far as craftsmanship goes if you ever get a wild hair to build one more similar to this one but I don't need the Eaton transmission just a frame off will a fresh engine and 6speed please let me know.

You could save quite a bit buy just using the six speed ... the 22.5 wheels are also a big expense ... you want a 3/4 or a one ton / 2wd or 4/wd .. I may have another build coming up soon.

Can't tell ya much ... but I used an RT6609A (google it) which is what some call the Baby Road Ranger because it's the smallest ... it came out of a FL60 (FreightLiner) which don't matter because they are all the same no matter what brand truck they're in .. .... I used a Flywheel, Flywheel Housing, Clutch and Clutch Housing and starter from a Ford 6000 I think it was .. but any commercial truck that has an SAE bellhousing behind a 5.9(commercial world calls them the 6B Cummins) will work ... .. mine is a SAE 2 (18 inch diameter + or - ). You will have to use a divorced transfer box( old deuce 1/2 army truck) and you will have NO OVERDRIVE unless you get a RTO???? trans ( the O stands for overdrive) .. or an overdrive box. The truck I built would top out at about 75 mph without overdrive but it had the 33" tires!. Here's a great site for calculating RPM/Speed : wahiduddin.net/calc/calc_speed_rpm.htm I built a custom clutch release lever .. old school bell crank type! Bottom line ... you're gonna have to find a donor commercial truck that has a 6B cummins with a SAE 2 standard trans setup to get all the conversion stuff you need ... then any SAE 2 transmission you desire will fit but the Baby Roadranger is the best for fitting in a pickup! All the other roadrangers are huge! I googled 'commercial truck used parts' ... my transmission came out of the NJ and I got all the rest on Ebay .. one seller had the whole shooting match setup .. I got lucky! By the way .. you have the right idea because the transmissions are a weak spot in the Dodge trucks. The roadranger is the way to go with what you want to do! It will be well worth the effort to hunt down the parts you need to make it happen. One word of wisdom .... Google is your friend. Any other questions I'll help the best I can. Happy Trails!

@@RatRodBobBuilds Is the rear end the standard p/u Dana 80 dual wheel ? It looks more like a Dana 80 single wheel or the chassis cab dually dana 80 because the wheels are not sticking out past the fenders !

@@waynesmith6962 Good eye ... it's the chassis cab dana 80 ... 4 inches or so more narrow than the dually rear. I had to widen the inner fender wells so you can no longer slide a 4x8 sheet of plywood in between them.

12 valve ... P-Pump stage 2 injectors with a mild tune.

This one is an Eaton RT6609a ... they call it the baby roadranger. So you need that and the flywheel, flywheel housing, starter, clutch etc. ... or everything on the back of the engine from a commercial truck with a 6BT engine standard transmission. And of course a modified driveshaft.
