I seriously don't know what is wrong with some of the people on here that just feel they gotta hate on everything all the time. I think you (wrecklesskelly) are an artist and an amazing fabricator. I feel like I totally understand and get what you were going for here. Your own, personal take on a combination between older W900's, 379's, in the confines and convenience of a pickup-sized hauler. I LOVED seeing all the work, care, engineering and fabrication you put into this truck. Wish I could see it in person to admire and appreciate all the details up close. Great job! God bless!
So the skill, dedication and work needed to do this is greater than anything that I could do but it still looks really really stupid. If you're happy with it and it does everything you want it to though then you should be proud doesn't matter what I or anyone else thinks.
that is a nice truck. with its boxed frame, lead filled dents, air suspension, Cummins diesel, etc, it is a sturdy build. plus it actually looks right, has nice lines and proportions.... only thing missing is a fifth-wheel, or goose-neck, hitch.. hooked up to a goose-neck trailer would make a nice picture... thumbs up for the craftsmanship...
Leave the guy alone, it's a sick custom rig, I'd like to see what the haters can do in comparison to this? Instead of shooting off all day towards someone's project, do something with your life for God sakes, sick rig man, love it
Awesome video, awesome build. Can't believe people could be so disrespectful. I don't think they realize all the time and effort you put into just the video, let alone the truck! 👍🏼👍🏼
Who gives a fuck about people talking shit..half of em probably couldn't do a fraction of the work you did building it anyways lol. It may not be the sleakest looking but it's unique; and one man's trash is another's treasure. Plus trucks aren't intended to be easy on the eyes; they're meant to be put to work and beat up. I'd take an ugly beast of a truck any day over a "pristine/pretty" truck I'd worry about getting a scratch/ding. As long as you're happy with it that's all that matters man. I bet it was a blast hangin with your friends/fam, dedicating the time and labor putting together. Like I said, as long as it does what you intended, and turned out how you wanted that's all that matters. Whether it's a truck/car, or any other object, there's always gonna be people who hate and talk shit.
LoL! This is epic! I've always wanted to take something like an 08 dodge dually and make it into a mini semi truck. I think it would look a lot cool pulling trailers. Especially horse trailers!
A face only a mother....... you know the rest Nice and impressive build. Love that you got creative and did your own thing. Hope you get lots of use from it.
man that is one bad ass sick truck! I love dodge and I am a truck driver and what u just did there is totally amazing I'm just shocked as hell at how good you did with that congratulations on that beautiful piece of art keep up the awesome work
While I am not totally sure how I feel about the conversion, I do appreciate the time and labor that was put into this thing to create something different and that the owner could call his own. Question for you, why not a dual rear wheel setup? Also is the truck 4x4? Props to you guys for getting it done and back on the road instead of just having a bunch of parts scattered to the wind and a gutted carcass of a cab sitting in your yard for years! I'm sure that if you do build another it will be even better then this guy came out, looking forward to future videos!
The owner prefers singles, we may mount some 22.5 singles out back and 19.5 dually wheels in the front to get "the look" and if you payed attention to the front suspension you would notice it is 2wd ;)
+wreckleskelly I'm not hating the craftsmanship, it's really good. Just not a fan of the looks is all, but only the front. I like what was done to the back.
Very unique and creative. don't let the haters bother you, they are sure to come. I think a dually axle would look even cooler. My sons and I are going to do some work together.
wow cool build. Only thing I would change is raise the front to make a taller and narrower looking grill so the ratio of size is closer to big rig. You could also cut rectangular vents in the bumper with tha same grille running down the center to make it look taller and almost go to the ground. Then just widen the front fenders 2-3 inches per side while leaving the boxers you already have that go between the bumper and fenders also giving a much woder body while visually narrowing the grille area!! With you fab skillz it shouldnt be much time !
love the truck. nice job on the fabrication work. I've been tempted to put those mirrors on my 96 3500 for a long time. I might just do it now. interesting idea on moving the rear back. would be been perfect if you had thrown an idler axle in there. keep on truck'n!
Not for nothing, there was some great fab work that went into this ride. My opinion would be that, it doesn't need 2 sets of lights. If you were to get one set of smaller lights (for aesthetics, bu they function) and an LED bar molded into the front blacked out bumper. And that grille needs to be either blacked out, or brushed aluminum. That silver sticks out too much. But as I said, it's just my opinion on it. Awesome Work Boys.
I would like to know what air bags you used front and rear and how does the two leaves on rear springs workout when you give it fuel does it twist up I've got a 94 I would like to do suspension like that thank you joe
Should have found a real Peterbuilt grill and trim and modified it too fit. That would have looked sick. I personally would have gone with a dully for looks and functionality but that's my opinon. Truck looks sick though.
You must have just been in love with this truck...all the fab work that went into the build it looks like you would have wanted a truck with less or no rust at all...There has to be some kind of attachment to this truck and still all that work...as they say to each there own...Ive got a 2nd gen Dodge Laramie...and even surface rust would have been a deal breaker for me...Maby Im to pickey...Ive just always been raised nice trucks ECT...or no trucks at all.
mark wood except for the running boards its all bolt on. Can be swapped to a different cab if we choose. And yes it has put almost on 750000km so it is special to the owner.
Dude I dig the stacks. Maybe would have extended the frame alittle bit & put a fifth wheel plate on the back but for sure would have run duals in the rear. But all in all very sweet looking dodgie. Keep on trucking
Gonna have a problem going over speed bumps there with the front bumper. But you did some very hard and nice work on this build I couldn't do half that even if I had the time I mostly specialize in Mechanics on working on them but not building seems ironic yes but I only work on Chevrolet too. But overall not the prettiest build but some very hard work put into her and I respect you for that SAFE DRIVING MAN!
great job! couple of. suggestions, needs aluminum side fuel tanks, a paint job, and get rid of the front hella lights. takes away from the truck frontend. also. please put a RAM hood ornament on the hood like they had in the 80's.
aluminum tanks and proper deep shiny black paint coming this summer. he likes the lights as it gets driven at night quite often. It is a work truck before all else after all!
you definitely have some impressive metal working skills buy y do all that awesome work and leave the 2500 single wheel axles under it... should have used atleast 3500 axles or use the 4500/5500 and stuff some 19.5's that would of gave you more of the big rig look
definitely like it..but in my humble opinion I would have liked to see 22.5's and super singles but then again I'm sure it's purpose built...but either way great job love to see that people still build stuff on there own
+Brandon C (Plateface3D) and that's good for all them lol... Again, he made it for HIM, not anyone else and obviously not EVERYONE is gonna like the same thing, and not everyone is gonna hate it... So it don't matter if you or the others hates it, it's your opinion and theirs too
A bit of tuning in the pump but the sound comes from the exhaust. The "megaphone" expansion chambers from 3"-4" and then 4"-5" give the exhaust super high flow low restriction. And it whistles so nice!
