Obviously that’s Jesus’ point in the parable of the Good Samaritan as well, where He is addressing the issue of loving your neighbor. But Jesus goes a step further. The parable is in response to the question, “Who is my neighbor?” And he ends the parable with “Go thou and do likewise.” In other words, go and be someone’s neighbor. Go and help those who need help. Be their neighbor.
