One of my favorite Incubus songs. Another awesome cover! I love these spacey sounds he uses. I noticed that this is the same chord/sound he uses in the beginning of Are You In?

Thank you! Great choice of amp and great name 😁😉. I think the clean tone was rolled off a touch towards the left so 11 o'clock ish. The overdrive channel was probably gain at 1 o'clock, bass at 12 - 1 o'clock, mids at 11 o'clock and treble at 12 o'clock. ISF was on the American side so around 9 o'clock. I added a touch of reverb too but probably wouldn't have that if I was to record it again. You may need to play around with those settings depending on your guitar and pickups etc. Hope that helps?

Nice cover dude that fx sound is really close! You turn them off during the pre chorus/chorus sections as far as I can tell? It still sounds very rich to me like having an additional reverb in the background especially during the pre chorus(?) It's amazing how far you can get without double tracking soundwise... very inspiring stuff!

Thanks man! That's right, the ore chorus is just clean guitar and a tiny part of phase 90. This was the very first video I recorded and if I was to do it again, I wouldn't have added the reverb - that was added after in the DAW. Thanks for watching, I may update this song in the future as I feel I've learned a lot since then and could do a better job 😄👍🏻🤘🏻🎸

Honestly my comment shouldnt come of like a critique, I'm currently trying to get some of the Mike Einziger sounds and was inspired by their live performance at red rocks 2004. I was already doubting my ears with the reverb... it blends perfectly! And I also love that you didnt double track here so it's more like a cover of a live-version of the song! Thanks so much for explaining! =)

Thank you! Yes to the PH-3, you'll need to play around with the modes to get the right kind of sound but you'll be able to get close. No to the RV-6. This is a reverb pedal and you'll need a delay pedal to mix with the PH-3. The RV-3 is a delay and reverb pedal combined but I'm only using the delay mode in this song. The reverb you can hear was added in the DAW after I recorded the guitar parts. Hope that helps and thanks for watching 😁👍🏻🤘🏻🎸

Hi! I've been trying to find videos of tutorial of this songs Intro. This is my favorite song from their album "Morning View". I want to play this song, can I use any reverb and mxr phase 90 to cover this song? I don't want to spend money just to buy pedals and play this song🤣. As of the moment, I only have a cheap tc electronic sky surf reverb pedal and planning to buy an MXR Phase 90 🤣. I just need tips, thank you in advance. Great Job 👌

Hi, thanks for watching! You'll need a delay pedal, not a reverb pedal. The RV-3 is a delay and reverb but I'm only using it as a delay pedal. The phase 90 is a great starting point as Mike uses it loads in different songs and you might get a close sound by setting the rate quite low. To get the exact sound from the video and how Mike plays it, you will need a Boss PH-2 Super Phaser. I have links in the description of where you can get these if you are interested. Hey, I believe the ME-80 has the PH-3 phaser built in to it, or something similar? I just released a video of what settings to use for the PH-3, you can watch it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mOpAHc8UV0w.html For the delay, if you can find a digital delay and use the settings from the Nice to Know You vid, you should be good to go 👍🏻

Hey Nick, I actually have official tab books from way back in the day. I use these as a rough guide as sometimes they aren't that accurate and then listen and watch tons of Mike playing live and try to work out the correct way he's playing the songs. For newer songs that I don't have tab books for, I just watch and listen many, many times and try to figure it out from there!
