When you sign up with a company to be apart of that company, you do what the company tells you to do. IW has the option to separate and be on their own but they chose to be with Activision
Infinity turd is not getting pressured. They’re doing it because they can and they hate players. All they care about is money. The game is gonna have one at launch and it’s gonna remove all core features that we just got back and it’s gonna have slow campy movement with the fastest time we’ve ever seen
The "movement" era of cod is my least favorite by far. I'd easily take jetpacks over sliding kangaroo simulator. Cold war got it right for the most part. But screw sbmm. I should be having fun on cod not competing in esports every match

A remaster wouldn’t work. They would ruin it with SBMM, micro transactions, ridiculous camo grinds, add doors to every map, rebalance every gun, add a gunsmith, nerf all killstreaks into the ground, and probably more. A remaster would never feel like the original game if Activision is involved.
One of two. Or their end up TRYING to make a MW19 move with improved graphics, slow gameplay and call it a day (to end up like garbage MWII) or they try to make MWII but slightly more arcade. Both are garbage

Modders did what the community wanted. Studios with greater assets wouldn’t have been able to cook something this good even if it was their project. They can recreate game as much as they want but they’ll never recreate the experience without ruining it.

That makes no sense. They changed everything after MW3.....the bright shiny childish maps and guns of BO2 and then the advanced warfare era and the microtransactions and now we have battlepass shoved down our throats. It's changed a lot.
Like, Treyarch and IW games as part of one game will never ever happen. Too unrealistic. BOPS 1 + 2 together like Tony Hawks 1+2 Remastered would be the most ideal thing. LIkewise for old school IW games.
even if they "remastered" these older titles I reckon their egos will make them add tac sprint, sliding and slide cancelling, SBMM, mounting, and gunsmith all this stuff that isn't needed for the remaster
No one is surprised. If Infinity Ward were given creative freedom, they'd have a good chance of a good game. But Activision being a control freak drives everyone, including gamers, insane.
Doors and stuff were their decision. They made terrible design decisions and I blame Infinity Ward for that. The rest of the studios didn’t make a slow game to the degree that Infinity Ward did which leads me to believe they specifically wanted that. No they can’t make a good game
From what I've gathered over the last few years SHG get's shafted most , pushing their game out in the least amount of dev time allowed , getting their work taken by IW and so on.
Imagine. A new series from cod but simplistic like the older cods. Same style, no slide cancels, etc etc. just like the old cods but new maps, guns, etc. if they took a step back and simplified everything. It would attract a bigger audience. Idk just a thought
Something someone said in another RU-vid comment struck me as the truth. Activision is holding onto their old game remasters until they have a new CoD fail so bad that they need the nostalgia factor to bring the players back. They will never release a remastered edition that OG cod players want until they need it to bring back those same players to jumpstart their franchise.
Man to me, MWIII is a lot of fun but the biggest issue I honestly have is the lack of atmosphere and the presentation of the Modetn Warfare theme. If it looked like MW19 (including skins) than it would have looked amazing including the aesthetic of the OG MW2 maps Still think simplicity is key imo and they are focusing too much on movement instead of fun and engaging gunplay
MW3 wasn't really all that. Story sure. Killstreaks and scorestreaks sure. But the maps were so meh. Genuinely think people have forgotten this. I do agree on simplicity point. But we are well past the point. The only simple thing is the inclusion of a store and exorbitant pricing.
COD 2025 is supposed to be a Black Ops II direct sequel of some sort and last I checked we have no idea who the lead dev on that is. Could be Treyarch, Sledgehammer (though Tom Henderson reported that they refused after how MWIII’s development cycle went), Raven, High Moon, Beenox, etc.
i really do belive cod should be a minimum 3 year cycle so devs can make good campaigns decent multiplayer and 3rd modes like zombies and spec ops atm everything always feels half baked

The developers can d*e for all actvsion cases. As long as they make their sales any way shape and form that’s matters to them. Same with their community. Glad I don’t play cod anymore
People love to glaze on MW19 however that COD removed proper prestige, added disbanding lobbies, cranked up SBMM, had like 1 good map (shoothouse) and didn't even have a proper mini-map on launch. It also started the whole 'movement' obsession that is a constant focus for newer COD games. Maybe I'm just blinded by nostalgia but just give me old school COD again, like MW2/Blops 2 vibes.
Thats all well and good… except with CoD. The last thing CoD needs is new stuff, every single new stuff is utter garbage and everyone is sick of it, CoD just needs this, the old games.

To fix the server browser random server selection issue when trying to join a server you need to refilter the server list to sort by ping (works best for me) and I seemingly get more consistent results when joining in. It was frustrating for sure, but an easy thing to manage and fix.

My question is who’s going to work on fixing the server browser if the dev team received a cease and desist? Wouldn’t they get sued to the ground? I thought the game just got leaked as is and wouldn’t get worked on since it got “shut down”

Activision has made so many questionable decisions over the last 5 years i haven't payed my hard earned money for a call of duty game in 2 years. I can't support a company And that consistently makes nothing but the wrong decisions about a video game. if it isn't fun I am not gonna pay money for it. and that is where call of duty is at right now.
Most of the video game companies have no idea what gamers want now days. Companies could have dump trucks full of money coming in every second and companies would rather shut down and go out of business. It's the dumbest thing ever
I agree that they should do a MW2 remastered and putting out an entire MW trilogy remastered would be awesome but referencing Halo MCC and then saying "How hard could it be?" cracked me up. That game took half a decade after launch to start working properly

Actually, fans don't want Activision to remaster MW2 and BO1. We know too well that they would ruin everything with their absolutely dogshit matchmaking system ( SBMM + EOMM or whatever ). So I would say that a Mod is the best we can get in order to have the feeling and the fun we had in those games back in the day.
I truthfully believe that Activision won’t release a mw2 remaster or bops1/2 remaster is because they know a large portion of the community wouldn’t buy another cod again. I’ll also add that I’m very skeptical about them remastering any of those games because they’d find a way to ruin them
To me, the yearly releases aren't the main problem. Or even a problem at all. They did it for years and it was good. The problem is, just my guess, that it's because the devs don't have free range. The problem is Activision, the higher ups, or whatever you want to call them. 100%. It's like blaming the wait staff for the menu options. A retail employee for a company not getting in certain products.
Activision knows that if they remastered MW2 or did a MW Trilogy remaster, that any new COD after that would not sell as well. Everyone would just keep playing the remaster trilogy.
I downloaded the H2M mod I guess day1 after the shutdown. My server browser works fine. Only annoying thing is that I usually have to find a new server after every game and it’s typically a game that’s already started. And sometimes my player gets stuck for a second or two after jumping. Other than that I love it.
I’m pretty sure the assets they were sitting on with mw2 remastered were used in mw3 this year with all the old mw2 maps that came back. Activision will never release a true mw2 remastered after mw3 2023.
Hey with the server browser, make sure you refresh before reconnecting or connecting to a server, you will always connect to the right server that way!
It's obvious why they don't want to remaster MW2/MW3/BO1/BO2 - because they wouldn't be able to put in the cancerous addition of the shop that they have in newer instalations unless they want to face serious backlash for ruining the OG titles with macrotransactions (at this point, if a skin costs as much as another game, nothing about this is 'micro')
I've always had the theory that they cannot remaster MW2 multiplayer because of the lawsuit between ATVS vs West & Zampella concluded in a way that gives partial ownership to West and Zampella. The settlement probably ended with West and Zampella not getting paid for creating the game but retaining the intellectual property and getting royalties. That is my theory
Glad to see the PC community was able to play this mod and wish that I could as a console user. Activision is so annoying to me these days because they don't even see how much money is left on the table if they remastered cod waw through cod black ops 2 (That includes bo1, mw2, mw3). I just can't understand why they wouldn't remaster that gold era when we live in an era full of remastered games. I am no dev so hopefully someone more knowledgeable can respond, but wouldn't it be easier to remaster an original cod than to create a whole new concept?
Actision doesn´t want people playing the old games, like people playing MW2019 and not buying Cold War, Vanguard and MW 2022, they sabotage MW2019 to force people buy MW 2023
H2m is incredible. It really feels like 2009 all over again. My buddy and i dont play cod anymore but this mod brought us back. We've been having a blast.
If Activision greenlit a remaster it would be shop first with popups when you boot the game. We don't want the shop to be the most important thing in the game and we don't want shady manipulation like SBMM nudging players towards the shop. Give us a raw, old school experience WITHOUT SBMM. They are convinced it makes them more money so they'll never do it. I don't intend on buying BO6 and I haven't bought a cod game since cold war.
@neroscinema Dont forget when MW2 Remastered came out it didnt release with multiplayer mode. Reason being Activision didnt want another MWR situation where their old call of duty is headlining the newer one. The cycle will just keep going sadly...

Honestly, H2M is finished already. It’s just a trickshotting mod at this point. Barely any non-trickshot servers exist. All this is going to do is push anyone who just wants to play this mod, away from it.
honestly i loved the old games, i started on BO1 and was getting slapped but it was fun and what made me to be a good fps gamer now ... i would honestly go back to the old time forget the graphics and physics and sbmm .. we had to learn to play and didnt get catered at all but why change now? us hardcore fans still play even tho we hate it but its what we grew up on so yes we play but we hate it.. sbmm needs to go completely because we didnt get catered back then when i was 14 coming home from school to get slapped around but enjoyed it . somebody on the dev team got a kid they want to make happy
they won't remaster it because people would stick to that game for years instead of buying the yearly release, they would lose money if they did it that's the only reason it's not gonna happen
Nero you can fix the server browser by using a smaller favorites file. When you have too many servers the browser breaks, I had 400 servers and had the same issue. Now im at around 100 and the server browser works perfectly
How to save CoD: release the real mw2 multiplayer remaster (they have it developed, same with a few other games) Stop milking the player base with your cosmetics Re-work the sbmm system (keep it, don’t remove it)
In my perfect world this is how I would want cod cycles to go. For example this year new cod, the following year w@w remastered, then new cod, then mw2 remastered and just do that for a while
Speaking of titanfall. If you guys dont know, titanfall 1 and 2 s servers are still working! They got secretly updated during its anniversary this year! Wonder how many people are going to dip black ops 6 beta and come to this!
