What are some of your experiences with the NI-TI Loop?

Is NI_TI Loop the same as Insomnia?. I have a problem sleeping at night where I just can't stop having an inner dialog/chat with myself about anything and everything, it kept me awake all night. Thanks.

Im so glad you gave us a clearer picture of what this loop is! It is certainly a slippery slope, especially if you are involved with manipulative ppl who use guilt and fear in relationship dynamics! I cant tell you how much this loop has made me waste my time and cause me to be set back in career, going ard and ard in worthless relationships and even loss of money. I think the INFJ door slam happens bc we run the NI-TI loop for a long time and suddenly we discover the error in our thinking and we bcome so ashamed or angry with ourselves abt this mistake in our thinking and the resulting losses that we just shut ppl off. But the real anger is with ourselves and this repeating pattern we dont understand. Im getting better and better with expressing my 2nd function. Thank you, Wenzes.

I appreciated your positive approach to the NI-Ti loop. Also, it was fascinating to learn that our 3rd function is our "hidden agenda," and that we often think that it is stronger than it really is. I hadn't thought about that before, but it makes a lot of sense - as does the fact that we have more control over our primary than our tertiary function. I also appreciated the emphasis on "consistency" more than "will power." I mentioned working with the Sedona Method which emphasizes "letting go." So when you mentioned "letting go" of TI, I saw how it could fit with something I'm already doing. Good, practical counsel.

First my thoughts...it is not about me but then I realized many years ago I was in love with image of someone. he lost interest in me and I wanted to prove myself, even change myself to be more suitable. It took me a very long time to get over.

Whoa, I had an ACT counselor explain this to me in my 2nd meeting with him. I can't remember exactly what I was rambling on about, but it was all the problems racing in my mind and all the possible solutions to them. He looked at me and said, "If only having knowledge would solve all your problems... (Long pause) But it doesn't. Does it?" And after that truth bomb, he helped me ground myself in the present moment so I could gain clarity outside of this loop that was driving me insane.

Thank you for this! Going through a separation/divorce over a 4 year span and I see myself adapting and understanding my partner and pushing my boundaries out further. I then spend my therapy sessions Ti-ing that crap. I’m slowly gaining courage to assert my bottom line... releasing guilt and the responsibility to “make it work”.

I found out the real truth with a Leo who supposedly wanted to "talk to me" which was not his intention at all. I was completely blow away that his intentions were not similar. I broke it off making him think it was his idea. Painful but important. It came to a head when I mentioned to a gf about him. He was livid. I realized he was lying and a control freak. Walking away was the best choice realizing I was delusional lol.

Little hack I’ve been testing with regard to the Ni-Ti loop, pair self concept affirmations from the law of assumption with this(Ni-Ti loop) and we are unstoppable.

I’m heading through one soon and boy, divorce is really, really HARD! My separated husband and I cry like babies together... he’s an ISTP. Moving forward really means breaking those Ni-Ti loop beliefs. I always tell myself I am not a quitter... sounds good but can is DESTRUCTIVE!

Wow! It's kinda cool to post the first comment lol(2nd¿) Anyway, honestlyI'm still learning what all of these functions do exactly even after several hours and days worth of research. But for the sake of an uncharacteristic over-simplification, this generally feels like being stuck in my head in a world alone and very rarely being able to express my thoughts and being able to articulate my thoughts and properly communicate them to the outside world. Thanks for all your help, and keep up the good work!

I enjoyed your live broadcast last Saturday. I remembered you covering this subject. What are some of my experiences with the NI-TI Loop ? Past dating relationships since a divorce in 2007. I kept running into the same old thing with all of them taking advantage of my good nature as well as being controlling of me. I got out of the loop when I began displaying my boundaries and enforcing those boundaries. The relationships ended, yet I recovered quickly without thinking it was the end of the world. Also, in my career. From time to time there would be those who felt I was incapable of performing some duties. When they were not around to incite conflict, I performed those difficult high skill tasks without any problems, and they left me alone afterwards. Each time I left the loop, my confidence went up some. I tapped into some capabilities each time. Some people even said to me, " Gee, I underestimated you. I didn't think ya had it in ya". I'm sorry about the long winded answer.

Hi, Wenzes! I was wondering when you started expressing openly your likes and dislikes and how you feel about things, weren't you afraid that new people in your life could potentially harm you by pretending they resonate with these things just so get under your skin? Or am I being hyper paranoid here o.O
