I think you might have been trying to go for the "gee i feel bad because she was traumatized" angle but its still problematic because its essentially justifying prejudice instead of seeking to understand that not all people in the group are the same. And yes i understand you know that im just explaining further for people who dont get it. As a black woman i have to wonder if people are treating me based of stereotypes or based off the goodness in my heart and it can be mentally taxing much like it might have been mentally taxing for someone to feel triggered everytime they see person who reminds them of an ex boyfriend or abusive relationship
