This video brought me to tears as I entered the home of a Marcus Garvey for the first time visually. This video jerked my emotions as I reflected on the continents of Africa and the differences of languages, cultures. Unity for black people is the strength of our nation. Garvey was a visionary. In a time when black people were told to stay in their place, he never cowered; he saw the greatness in us. I don't often use the word icon, but he certainly is. I try to carry his spirit with me. There is a portrait of him that hangs as I walk through my front door.

I felt sick to see the condition that Garvey’s birthplace has been allowed to become. The PNP MP, Lisa Hanna, is in charge of the parish where that house is located. I’m highly surprised that she never sought to at least get the structure preserved from becoming decayed. I guess only the Jamaican icons who promote music and ganja smoking are considered worthy.

Man speaking facts. Garveyism should be taught as part of the school curriculum throughout Africa and the Caribbean but it's the European policies that Africa needs to overcome and fight for. This is the move Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger are fighting for. Africa Union refuse to recognise the 6th Region of the African Diaspora because of interference of foreign entities. We must arise from the ashes to be Pan African movement... Wode Maya Marcus Garvey's home still stands in the city of Limon in Costa Rica. Here in NY we have Marcus Garvey houses in Brooklyn as well as street named in his honor, and a park in Manhattan. He was larger than life.

I pray you dig more into Marcus Garvey history. the man was a genius he started an organization that mobilized black folks teaching self respect and law abiding citizens. He created an organization comparable to the salvation army, youth movement, various ways to uplift blacks. I think he propose a shipping line call the black star, if am not mistaken.
