This is the second home in which ru-vid.comUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU we've replaced our "regular" doorbell with a Ring video doorbell and we really enjoy it. It is very easy to install and it works very well, with a clear picture through the app and good in-home use (we added the chime, which is also easy to install and doesn't require another thought to use).

it does work with alexa but u need to have that wifi g2 adapter...i think it only works if u got alexa in the usa, im in canada but i could NOT get alexa to work..enabled the ttlock remote unlock in app, enabled the alexa ttlock skill, setup the voice code in alexa app, i do the 'alexa, open the door' command it says 'door doesn't support that' error
I would like to have my front door act as much as possible like the car door on my Corvette. On the car door, with my FOB, when I approach my car the door will be unlocked because my FOB is in proximity. When I leave my car after a few moments it locks the door. Trying to implement this for the front door using the Hornbill I cannot easily do the "unlock the door when I approach" but the fingerprint sensor is good enough. However locking the door when I leave also can't be easily done. Now I have the gateway and have set it up with my Google Home. And I can say "Hey Google, lock/unlock the front door" however Google prompts for my PIN probably for so called security reasons. I'd like to configure Google Home's "Away" action, where Google Home notices I'm away and does things like sets my Nest thermostat to Eco mode, to also lock the front door. However, again, it asks for my PIN. Now if I'm leaving with somebody else I don't want to rattle off my PIN and have them hear it. Plus this is supposed to be a smart lock thus automated not including additional steps. Finally Google Home goes through steps to verify you are you given your voice so that you can do things like order stuff online using just your voice. Is there anyway to get Google Home to lock your Hornbill smart lock without this additional prompt for a PIN? This "lock front door" command would be done through a Google Home routine so it's not an actual voice command (though Google Home doesn't have any specific functionality to lock the Hornbill lock except by issuing a voice command. In the Google Home Routines there is a "Try your own" action where you type in text. I suspect that's being treated as a voice command and thus prompts for a PIN. If Hornbill (actually TTLock) had a better integration with Google Home perhaps they could work out a more secure and automated way to lock the door without requiring an additional voice PIN.
Hi there I have this lock on my new home. The deadlock will open and close when the key is in it but when the key isn't in it the deadlock will not slide over not even manually. If you try to lock it by the key pad it attempts to turn it slightly but won't go any further. Do you know what could be wrong?
Similar issue here. Installed the lock today, for me it will unlock manually and with the key. When using power functions the deadbolt doesn't even try to move. Deadbolt actuator issue I'm guessing 🤷🏼♀️
disassemble the lock and leave the dead bolt in the door. try moving the deadbolt (locking unlocking manually) it should move freely. then assemble and leave the screws loose a little. try it again manually. it should be move freely. then tighten the screws. usually when u overtighten the screws it causes it to bind. good luck
I installed the lock very easily. I do not have a smart phone and there are zero instructions how to program it without one. I called the help line. It was a joke as I did not understand one work said. Do you know if there is a way to program without a smart phone? I have a MacBook Pro if that is possible. Thanks in advance if you can assist as the seller does not help.
i believe you need a phone and you need Gateway G2 installed and connected to your WiFi. i have the gateway i didnt have any issues. my friend tried to install without the gateway, he couldnt connect to it. its a bit disappointing they do disclose that you must have the gateway for it to work. the gateway is like $40.

This lock has failed for me in less than a year. Only lasted 7 months. The motor for the lock no longer works. I purchased a Schlage Sense smart lock. I should have bought that to begin wirh. No need to drill a hole in the door (WHAT WAS I THINKING) and use a additional wifi hub.
Hi Javier, this is Vivian from hornbill, thanks for your question, yes, when you add the gateway to your smart lock, you can generate/delete the passcode anytime anywhere. You can remotely unlock/lock your smart lock anytime, anywhere, and also you can use the Alexa to voice control your door. Which is no longer to be limited by the Bluetooth. Meanwhile, it supports to share, modify, and delete E-key anytime, anywhere. Real-time monitoring of door status, battery life and unlock activity logs. If you need any help please feel free to contact me, I will help you in time, and I will help you to activate the warranty, thanks again for your support. Looking forward to hearing from you. No but even if it did. U would still need to unlock your phone before it sends the command. It becomes a hassle. I have a myq for my garage which works with Google but it wouldn't do any command without unlocking the phone
@@alamray thx, so its not bad if ur phone is already unlocked? i got that hornbill version with the g2 wfii adapter, hopefully it works with alexa in canada, i read it only works in usa only , i get the doorbolt tommorow so i won't know until then....

How do you get the assigned passcodes to LOCK?? The ones I assign can only unlock. Useless like this, not being able to lock the door when leaving the house
you change it with the app. were u able to connect to it on your phone? in there, there is settings where u can set the codes. its kind of lame if u ask me. it would be nice if u can also set it outside without the need of a gateway or a phone and app. but it is what it is.
Literally the worse smart lock I’ve ever gotten IN LIFE. Does NOT lock remotely. Does NOT accept ANY codes I have for unlocking. Not the temporary. Not the permanent. NOT SHIT. if I could just rip this off my door and throw it-I would.
you might have done something wrong, mine works well remotely but you need the G2 gateway, and TTLock app, and it takes codes and work fine. did you try contacting their service? they are really great at support and product replacement if anything

@@hornbillsmartlocks4762 Hello Vivian, I have a question for you if you don't mind: I live abroad and have a condo in Canada. I'd like to install a Hornbill Keyless Entry Smart Front Lock in order to give remote access to friends or potential tenants. From what I understand I need a Gateway unit. Is that all? The condo doesn't currently have an active WiFi connexion, is that a problem? How exactly can I access the lock and entry logs from abroad? Thank you very much for your help. Have a nice day !
@@vladimirantaki Hi Vladimir, thank you for your question, if you want to remotely control the door, only when you have the gateway, and the gateway needs to close to the lock, and it works with WiFi. If you don’t have WiFi in the house, you can share the code with your guests. You can get the one time/permanent passcode without Wi-Fi. If you have any questions please let me know.
