How did you determine which two pin connectors went to which connectors on the Transfer Case? All three harness connectors are the same except for the wire colors going it to them.

don't you need a gasket and an o-ring when you mount the t-case to the extension housing or it will leak?

That computer piece is a stepper motor used to engage and disengage 4x4

How the hell did u get it to the mouting holes im literally on this step right now but im doing this all by myself with no help and it keeps getting jammed up onnthe crossmember of the 4l60e

Get an assistant. I can't tell you how to do it yourself because I couldn't figure out a way. Fun side note - it's even harder with a 4L80e, I still have no idea how I got THAT thing in there. Good luck to you!

What the thingie does is shifts the transfer case. There is no manual shifter because I guess it's just to hard for people to shift manually. It is an electric motor, dumbing your 4x4 down.

That computer thingy is the encoder motor, and you're right, they ain't cheap!

I find a small quarter inch ratchet and a qtr inch drive 15mm socket fits better than any wrench for the top nuts. A combo wrench or regular ratchet(3/8s drive) will work for the rest.

Done it 3 times icluding once with a 4L80e. Its not something you forget. Best advice is to not do it alone. Its heavy, its awkward as hell and you just have to keep trying different angles to get it up and in. I'll check my ego at the door when you check your spelling.

I had just used some black rtv holding up so far now the trans mission is acting up

@@andrewg7344 My reply with a link to the gasket was not published. I wanted to know if you have been checking transmission fluid levels with the engine running and whether you have noticed pinholes in your transfer case. Both, the one failed on my truck AND the used replacement, had the pump rub holes.

@@WizardofGOP ya I haven't noticed any leaks on the replacement one hope it holds up a while that transfer case was not fun to replace especially in the parking lot at my apartments I checj the transmission fluid while truck is hot and running the tool scanner said shift solenoid a is stuck iij n off mode so I replaced a, and b solenoids and filter and new fluid and still nothing I think the sun gear stripped or broke I lost reverse 2and and 4rh I drive my tahoe everywhere with just 1st and 3rd gear now all over the city in denver Colorado I accelerate in 1st up to 25mph and let off throttle for 1 second so it can upshift to 3rd gear then I gently press throttle again and it works that way
