install VCM Muzzler II on Honda Pilot or Odyssey 

Just installed a version with DIP switches on a 2016 Odyssey - works great, and thanks to this simple tutorial, it took me all of 1 minute to locate and install it on the correct sensor. Thanks for saving my engine down the road!

Worked good so far. No more annoying shutter noise that sounds like a bad torque converter. Car feels so much better when stepping on the foot pedal. I bought a V6, so I can drive a V6!

Only in the past few weeks have I seen so much about VCM disabling. My 2011 has 175k miles and I've noticed a bit of a lurch during ECO enabling and once, a puff of oil smoke out the back during acceleration. So, as an 'Aha' moment, I'll put this bypass once my Winter is over. One note..another tuner has the negative post on the battery as an add on which yours does not.

I did bypass VCM but then the engine was not as smooth on 6 cyl mode as before. so I undid everything, remove negative ground where it connects to body next to the battery, grinded paint on the contact point, also added extra connector at that 10 mm and ran a thick wire to biggest bolt of transmission. Van runs so much smoother on 6 cyl then ever did. Also VCM is barely noticeable. LOGIC: may be with proper ground>may be spark plugs and other sensors might be able to ground and work more consistently. it runs so much better now.

I think the VCM system damage the catalytic converter, so I think this thing could help to prevent damage and enhance the engine behavior. But I am not using it yet.

Question so in winter I have to use the blue resistor and summer I will have to use the red resistor. So 80ohm for winter and summer 120ohm

I bought a 2013 Odyssey with about 120,000 mi on it. Did the timing belt and we drove it for a few months check? Engine light came on. The van was shuttering did a tune-up replace the spark plugs. 6 months later. Same thing spark plugs. 6 months later it did it again. Took it to the Honda place. They said it needed a ring job $4,000. I said no way. I took it to a guy who replaced the coil pack and we drove it for a year. It has done it twice again since then. I had no idea that these six-cylinder engines even did the fuel maintenance crap. Now a mechanic friend of mine has ordered a $150 muzzler and is going to put it on our van and hopefully we're not going to have any more issues. Some things just need to be left alone. If you have a V6 engine let the engine run. I don't want half my engine shutting off multiple times going down the road. I don't want cylinders being shut down. I don't want my car to shut off every time I stop at a stoplight. Some technology is good some is not

I've heard of a S-VCM Controller, would you recommend that one as the best to install for a 2010 Honda Accord V6?

With it tricking the system, does it still accurately read engine temp? As in the temperature reading on the cluster being accurate to what the actual engine temp is?

Just bought this on eBay from that dude in Canada. I have a 09 Honda Accord v6. I have to constantly check the oil. I keep a quart in my car at all times. I not too long ago changed the oil. But I guess it’s a good idea to keep a bottle of oil in your car anyway. Also the little jerks when you are driving (eco mode) kicks in. So I will try this when it comes in. What color resistor should I use?

I just installed mine. Is it supposed to get rid of ECO mode light as well? Or will the light still come on while this muzzler is working?

I have a 20110 exl for 2 years now. ECO has never come not once. Would the muzzler possibly be there already? It does studder a bit after a slow down to turn as I accelerate.

I have a P3497 code on our Odyessey and if I do this VCM muzzler will this bypass the VVT system where they Check engine light will go away without having to fix the VVT Solenoid?

Mine has worked great for the last 7 months but now since it's gotten cooler I keep getting a 128 code saying engine is not reaching correct operating temperature....! Anybody know how to stop this emissions light from coming on ???

Great vid. Just found this problem on my 'new' 2012 certified pre owned touring pilot. Has Honda gotten crappier, I thought they were on par with Toyota!?!

I like the muzzler 2 better than the tuner because I am weary of anything connecting directly to the battery. I had it for over 3 years with no issues. Less moving parts make it more reliable, It's also much cheaper.

What did u do with the end with the blue tip? Just leave it as is? Did u tape it over with electrical tape?

took me less than 5 minutes to install on my 12 Pilot. I'm using the blue resistor, when I use my bluetooth OBD2 sensor, Torque shows that the coolant temp only gets up to about 165°. As I recall, before it used to run around 180 or so when it was fully heated up. Is the engine still getting up to 180, but the Muzzler is fooling the computer into thinking that it's running cooler so the VCM won't kick in?

so what does coolant temp read on a scan too when is 40°F or the when it's at operating temp? as a tech I would think the pcm reading would change because your installing a resistor. a coolant temp sensor is a resistor that changes with heat. I'm guessing that with the added resistance the pcm will never see normal operating temp, there for the VCM will not work.

I have a 12 Honda Pilot. Just bought the VCMuzzler from verbatim. I’ve seen a lot of different ones. Can you use only one plug in or do you have to change depending on weather?

I have an 04 Honda Pilot with 182,000 miles I just bought it and I noticed every so often at around 40-50 cruising steady it will sound like I’m driving on a washboard and it hesitates at the same time but I have not noticed any light or warning. Will this item fix that? I wasn’t sure what was causing it.

Neat tool but why not just go to the dealership and have the piston rings replaced and ecu reprogrammed under warranty? I never had any comeback for oil consumption.

Just got the error code on my 2009 Honda Odyssey with 160K miles. Says misfire in cylinder 3, doesn't appear to be firing. Will this and replacing spark plugs for cylinders 1-4 resolve the problem? People in another post (not here) have mentioned the problem correcting itself after installing the muzzler. I am very disappointed in Honda and had no clue about this issue but apparently it has happened to a lot of their vehicles. I am done with Honda!

If u take out sensor plug back into harness and plug up hole where sensor was wouldn’t that work also sensor won’t warm up ? So sensor stays cool and won’t let car switch back and forth ! Just bought a used 2012 with 68000 running great so far but for how long 😩 love this car !

Does this also get rid of that dip in power when you turn? I heard that is the VCM and gives you lag when you lift and go to hit it again

so let me get this right... this is just an 80 ohm and 120 ohm resister? That i can buy for a $1? Im sure this is a great plug and play solution for some people so i do appreciate the design, but i can just put a resister in myself.

Hi on your case do you still get the eco light if you drive on the city?mine if l am on the hallway l don't get the light but on the city in traffic l still get the light..l try to change the temperature but still getting....l try to call the manufacturer that sold me the vc tuner and they said is normal....

Need help with vcm Hi everyone.. I own a Honda accord 09 v6 and as a lot of other people here im starting to have problems with it... purchased it last year from dealer, everything was fine until one day the car started running rough and it was hard to accelarate. took it to mechanic and he said it needed a new camshaft. he told me that maybe previous owner drove with low oil.. he changed the camshaft and car was fine for a week.. then I started to notice less power while driving and the VSA light and CEL came on. took it back to mechanic and he said that the Cylinder number 6 was misfiring and that i needed a new coil. he changed that too. another week passed and i got the same VSA and CEL on the dash. this time mechanic said it was the spark plugs.. so we changed ALL . Now guess what car still has VSA and CEL light on bus the VSA light came off bust sitll have CEL.. I dont know what to do.. ive been reading about some problems with the VCM and that all Honda engines have problems because of it.. i read about the vcmuizler and i wonder if it will solve my problem..please can someone help me with this, im tired of all this repairs and no results.. too much money spent and car still has problems. 18 / 18

I just installed this on my 2007 odyssey best thing I could have done for my van I highly advise all Honda and acura owners to install this Plug mines was at my door in 48 hours from making my order , it hasn't run this good since I bought it new. The Chinese Honda engineers need to open there half shut eyes and make proper motors for these cars and vans, Eco Vcm mode is all a bunch of bullshit.causes motor mounts to break oil burning sparks plugs going etc etc. Honda knows very well about this issue but wont do shit to recall there vehicles . 2005 & up Honda and acura motors are shit.
