Thanks for making the video. Just bought a Walmart Jensen powered sub and going to use your trick of bolting the 8 gauge wire and the small wire coming out of the amp. Genius! Much better than anything else I had seen on how to make that connection.

I just installed one in my car, my setup is, the sub you picked, 2 pairs of cheap speakers, 65w x 4ch Amp and a Chinese Dsp Crossover set, I still need get time alignment done, but will be tomorrow
The colorados must be less electronic then the 05 trailblazers lol…one drop of water gets under the hood on a trailblazer and it’ll sputter and try dying for the next day if it’ll start at all lol….I’m wanting to put a sun in it but am a bit nervous to do so with the wiring being botched from factory lol…they want $175 for the wiring harness to install an aftermarket stereo because they ran the power to the stereo some other way then with a normal power wire….and one bump to a grounding port will make the stupid truck immobile lol….
I just got one of these for $30. I couldn't figure out why the output was so low, seemed like it wasn't getting enough input level and I had to turn the gain to max and still needed to turn my head unit higher than normal. Watching your install I noticed that your harness plug has 2 rcas and mine only has one. Think I know what to do now though.
@@Blowncapacitor84 Yeah, I have a Y splitter I'm using but it seems like it still isn't getting enough input level. With the gain maxed and my headset set to +10 (max) to the sub it sounds good though. The harness looks pretty roughed up, pretty sure the guy that sold it to me ripped it out and didn't mention it, haha.
Yeah, I bought new female rcas, depinned the old ones from the harness plug and put the 2 new ones in. It's much much louder now even if I set my headunit to 0 for the sub instead of +10.
And I just returned the favor, bro! Now time to do a collab together, you doing your badass normal tutorial, then outa no where I jump in screen and rip a don mega fatty then immediately jump back off screen and the you just carry on like nothing ever happened 😂😂🤣💯
I have a question for anyone that has installed this sub. I have the wires routed and ready to hook up but I'm confused how to hook it up to my head unit. I don't have the rca plugs, just wires thst go to the speakers. Do I splice this into those or do I need a different head unit?

@@Blowncapacitor84 I appreciate the reply. I ended up Jerry rigging it. Soldered directly to the audio low power module on the board of the head unit some rca female ends and plugged it up. Got it working.
Yes. It should turn off with the car. If the green light is on, then the remote wire is still receiving voltage. You might have to find another wire that is switched with the ignition. Or, wire in a switch
When wiring the cables to the sub, what do you use to make sure they stay together. For example the thinner cables on the sub and the big power cable, how do you wire those together and make sure they stay together? Whats under the electrical tape?
I literally just cut the big wire small enough to fit in a ten gauge (yellow) butt connector. The wire is definitely overkill for that amp it because I knew I would be putting a bigger amp in it.
Awesome! Also, thanks for the quick reply! I just put a Pioneer AVH-241EX double DIN in my 2006 GMC Sierra extended cab that my father-in-law got me for Christmas. He also got me a back-up camera (which I didn’t really want, and will probably never use, but didn’t want to be ungrateful so I went ahead and hooked it up as well) After I got it all set up, I decided to go ahead and upgrade the factory speakers to a pair of 6 1/2 inch Pioneer TS600M 4-ways, and a pair of 4x6 Sony XS-R4646 4-ways. The audio compared to the factory speakers is definitely a major upgrade. Clear and crisp, nice punchy mids. Not the highest quality, but definitely much better than factory. Wanted a bit more low end, nothing that’ll rattle my windows along with someone else’s 5 car links away, but also wanted to keep it budget friendly. I’ll be running everything tomorrow morning to see how it sounds!
The blue wire is the remote. If your head unit doesn't have a remote out (blue wire) you can just jump a wire to the positive input but you have to run a switch in line with it and turn it off everytime you aren't using it. The amp won't turn on without 12 volts or so going to the blue wire. Hope thar helps bro! Thank you for watching!
@@Blowncapacitor84 in my radio wires I don’t see a blue wire like that though or do I just put the remote from the sub to the blue wire on my head unit?
the radio should also have a remote out (blue wire) as well. you can also find something in the fuse panel that is switched with the ignition but I don't like doing that. if you have a factory radio you'll need a Line Out Convertor.
It's been over 7 months and honestly I can't believe how good it sounds. Its not gonna win any competitions or anything but they do hit! I can't remember the channel name but someone on youtube hooked 2 of them up and they seemed impressed. I would definitely recommend for the price.

@user-qb1xt8mj5r it will have the red and white holes that connect the rca cables on the back. Most aftermarket radios have them and will say on the box if it has them.
Do I need a fuse on my power wire??. I have this huge power wire for a bigger amp and it has its own fuse on it. I don’t want to use it because I don’t want to go through all the trouble of trying to connect the smaller wires to the big power wire hole where it connects.
You do, but you can find a super cheap fuse holder to connect to it. But honestly, I would do like I did and cut part of the big wire at the amp enough to where it will fit in a standard yellow butt connector. But you totally can just run a smaller one next to the bigger one just make sure to fuse it or you'll burn your rig down.
