When I got my ST (full MBRP straight pipe) loved the crackles. After 5 months and no access port I'm getting rather annoyed with it. Great video as always
One thing that people don't get is that the focus ST for the value today 2022 even. You cannot compare this car against any other turbo car. A GTI is expensive to fix and falls apart after it starts acting up plus they still make them. The WRX STI is way more expensive than the st and is expensive to fix and upgrade(compare to the RS) and the Hondas... Well again ..they still make those and are expensive as is. The type R is nowhere in this category. So if you ask me .. the ST is a perfect tuner car for years to come for the price and ease of upgradeability. If the engine goes out you can get the same engine from other Ford cars that share the same engine. Just throwing that out there because there seems to be a lot of haters that compare other cars with the ST and are nowhere near the same price point.
Progressive is actually louder and better in my opinion. I have a flash tune to flash on every now and then but I've got a pro tune E30 From PandaMotorWorks and its incredible.
I am new to all of this but I’m getting a pro tune next week on mine I’m not sure how this all works. When I get the pro tune is it automatically downloaded or do I purchase it separately?
@@Cupcakeprincess85 what do you mean? They will be In contact with you over email and they will send you a base map and you will go out and do datalog pulls and then email them the data logs and they will send you another map and this process will continue till they say your tune is complete.
Great content, I just got my Accessport and will also be making Focus ST videos. I'm driving a US spec ST3 2015 over in Europe. Just finished a road trip with it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Sf6VL5WiH2Y.html And will be uploading a how to video for the Maxton diffuser install once it's been painted.
Fun little fact, unless you have installed one on your own, these cars actually dont come with an oil temp sensor. The numbers you get on the guages are actually estimates based off of other parameters the car does actually monitor. So for 1, coolant temp is better to watch if you wanna know when your car is warmed properly.
The oil temp reading on the accessport is pretty spot on accurate. I have an external gauge on my fiesta as I track it here in the hot Southern California weather.
it normally sucks hella hard on the battery during the tune , they recommend turning off ac/radio etc , most FOst's start a little slow right after a tune on the good ol ap
@@Nickjoenap its not beyond problematic , its just one of those things that "tuners" understand lol . still a clean car man im liking the way yours looks
How could i turn off the tune? Or take it off whenever i want and put it back again? Let say im in school but they dont like the crackle tune how can i take it it off? N put it back on later
It looks incredible.... One question, if you put ACCESSPORTC COBB, you just have to connect it to the computer or does it have to be put in by a professional?
They come preloaded with a few tunes like this. But nothing fancy it’s really more of a tool to measure very precise readouts like air fuel ratio or temperatures that your gauges can’t tell you. It helps with tuning if you take your car to a legit tuner but no you can’t just upload things yourself and see how it goes. I wouldn’t recommend it anyway.
My access port won’t connect to my laptop, I’ve done a bunch of reading online and the methods given didn’t help, any ideas on how to get it to connect so I can install my tune?
@@sategllib2191 yeah I think it might be the purge valve recall. The valve has been replaced but I think they didn’t program it or whatever they need to do
@@sategllib2191 sorry to bring this up, honest question. You can be full bolt on catless DP, intercooler, intake, BOV, without being tuned at all or does it run shitty?
Bro on a scale of 1-10 how reliable was this tune, how much did you like it, cause this video is like 2 years old and so im curious if you still are running it, or if you still recomned stratified
i haven’t ever ran this tune long term because it’s not a custom pro tune. normally i run a jst performance e30 custom pro tune because it’s a better tune and i just use this when i want crackles for a little bit. these tunes aren’t ideal but i’ve never had issues and stratified is good.
@@Nickjoenap would you recommend JST over stratified ? Sorry but I’m only just now learning about tuning and you have the same exact downpipe I’m installing on Saturday so I’m curious
@@CopDoctorLawyer yeah personally i think jst is better and that’s what i’ve heard from other people too. jst doesn’t do crackle tunes though because they think they can lead to issues. jst’s turn around time is faster and my tune from them is great
@@Nickjoenap Fsho bro Preciate you, I’m doing catless downpipe and tune this weekend so I’m trying to get a feel for what members of the community tend to prefer in terms of tune companies
There’s no such thing as a fast focus st anyways so I really don’t think it matters. I only ran this for a week and switched back to my custom e30 tune
@@Mustangchef There is no cat on this car(as it should be). And yes, inefficient fuel burn to make a nice crackle is the whole point of doing this. Its not that expensive.
@@sheldon10111 yes I understand that ...I drive my ST 100 miles a day commuting ...I have it set up for that ...fast smooth and stealth. Now my Stang is another story. I just want newbies in the St life to know all mods are maybe not what they want . There is a tendency to overdo the mods and change the car in a way you may not like...I went through 3 different exhausts on my ST before my friend at Ford Performance informed me the stock exhaust was more flow than you ‘ll ever need. I went back to stock. All good , in these Covid days , hanging out in the garage and wrenching on the car is about as good as it gets sometimes. Rock on.
@@Mustangchef The crackles aren’t a problem because they happen when the engine isnt under load. I’ve talked to people who’ve had them for 100,000 miles before I did it and they didn’t have problems. The stock exhaust has too much restriction to make good power with full bolt ons. The stock downpipe limits the car a lot too
