@@dillonsimpson3172 Thanks Dillon! How about any of these ideas below? #1 most wanted....The mod to keep the M340i active grill shutters in the open position. I know the active grills are engineered to enable aerodynamic efficiencies and fuel savings...but I'm ok spending the extra .00005% on fuel to keep them open. 2.) Bimmercode install. 3.) Quad exhaust tips (Plug & Play, if they exist?) 4.) Exhaust flap mod 5.) Carbon fiber rear diffuser install. 6.) Wireless charging retrofit 7.) New shift paddles install. 8:) M striped (or colored) seatbelt install 9.) Performance springs install 10.) and for the love of GOD, please give us an efficient method to remove the hideous yellow warning labels from the sun visors.
Couldn’t be happier with my 2022 M340i XDrive. Waited 4 months for it to be manufactured. I’m contemplating using JB4 as it’s a lease. As much as I want to buy it, in 3 years, there will probably be a faster variant…and it’ll be another new car. Great video, thanks.
Great video thanks. I have been loving my stock M340 for over a year. Just bought a JB4 haven’t installed yet very excited for it. You should probably get a phone mount 😛
Hey Dillon, Great video bud. I have the x drive version and it's a Sept 20 build so can't tune it yet (locked Dme) Just wondering if you would recommend jb4 vs stock? Did you have any issues? Understand you have taken it off your car that's why asking if any issues or just got a proper tune...
@@mkvB58KING Yes sir! Lost access to my account above lol. Made the jump to M340i xDrive in Portimao Blue with shadowline package. Just purchased my JB4 today. Have you installed one?
@@mkvB58KING just checked out some of your videos...she's a beaut!! Mine's a lease but with market prices the way they are, I might buy it out at lease end. Such a solid car 💪
Subie ZoomZoomZoom I promise you won’t be disappointed. I had a Tesla model s before this one. It does remind me some what Of the spirited driving experience from the Subaru.
How has this worked out for you over the long term? I love Burger and have used the JB4 on several cars. It seems the m340i guys have complained a lot saying they don’t see a noticeable difference in acceleration- maybe because this is the updated B58TU with the higher horsepower from the factory so the JB4 does make less of a difference on these cars? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Is it possible to change maps/settings using the dash controls (button on the turn signal stick)? Also, to take out the grommet, should I be pushing inward from the engine bay so it falls by the pedals? Or popping it outward?
Yaaseen Hossen I believe there is a way to do it from the car side. But honestly it’s much faster from your phone. And push it from the engine bay into the car
Hi Dillon, nice car, nice video I bought the jb4 and I really like it as well I’m looking for instructions or guidelines how to setup map6, do you have any idea? Regards Dick from the Netherlands
im glad i didnt buy a f30 yet, i still have my 2011 335 and will love this when they are 2 years old certified used. I cant see how you would want to put a catless downpipe on such a beautiful new refined car- making it loud, i think smelly too from the exhaust? Its fast enough and sounds great. congrats and enjoy
Herakles I won’t go castless I made that mistake on my wrx can’t stand the smell of exhaust and honestly hate the pops these things make when they have the down pipe. I like how little they burble now on the stock setup and would like it just a little louder.
Thanks for the video. Have you considered the OEM M performance exhaust for stronger sound? I'm debating whether to add that to my M340i or just wait to see if a MPPSK comes out.
What were you power gains from the JB4’s product? I have the same exact car, need some recommendations for my car to enhance the power without blowing the motor up haha.
...."why I went with the JB4 over,...say a flash"! ,....then proceed to talk about how his car dies! LOL! I test drove one,...the car pulls like crazy,....but that steering,...made it hard for the car to simply 'go straight'! I had to make constant steering corrections,...Left-Right--Left-Rght--Right-Left, etc. Enjoy the ride,...that power band is addicting!
How did the downpipe go? I just got a 2022 M340i and was thinking about doing a downpipe but don't want the CEL as I'm not going to tune this car but the JB4 is an option but dose the JB4 account for the CEL like a tune would?
I’ve been trying to install my JB4 on my G20 330i, but I can’t figure out how to unplug my MAP sensor. I unlatch the little white plastic piece, but then it won’t come out. Any advice on how to do it?
Michael Jay good choice! My payment is 590 a month 10k mile lease 3yr. Not sure on exact numbers because I didn’t dyno it. Your lookin around 50-60hp jump.
What is your usersetting? I have the same car but x drive. And I feel as the car has a limiter. I can't go faster than 12.1 even thos I was doing 12.1 stock
Nice video Dillon. My only concern with the jb4 and the mhd is that they leave traces even after removing it or flashing back to stock OEM. I currently own a m340i too and I'm considering flashing with mhd which is the same company as the jb4 but I dont want to run into a warranty void 😬. what are your thoughts on that?
Alejandro Viamonte I am always worried about the same and it comes down to the dealer for the most part if they are going to take care of you. I asked the techs at the dealership when I was buying it which one.
The JB4 does not leave any trace once removed. It can’t possibly do so as it is not writing anything to the ECU it is a piggy back tune as soon as it’s removed all traces are gone and it cannot be detected it was ever there.
@@MitchM240 I read some where that it is still detectable through the ECU logs which would have recorded higher boost values than stock. Still worth checking with the dealer that will be servicing your car. Most people say they don’t care but ymmv.
I would decide how important that warranty is to you.. They're going to know. You can hide from the dealer and do service at an import shop, but your warranty work is going to have to go to BMW. They'll still fix electrical and suspension etc, but if you have a drivetrain issue its more than likely going to be on you. Pay to play, up to you if its worth it!
@@shaunwitzler5482 Depends on the dealer, a lot of BMW dealers are notorious for using it against you to lease another one. That or you eat a big turn in bill. They'll pick the car apart if they find something they don't like, especially tuning related. If you caused more than usual wear and tear, which arguably you are doing by enhancing a vehicles performance over the way it came, they can charge for it. And if they can, they will.
I am leasing a m850i right now and I am feeling out my local dealer before doing anything, I personally believe its best to lease the vehicle at the power level you want to have, and enjoy it... But I may purchase at end of lease so I am considering tuning it earlier than that. Just going to depend on the relationship I build with their service department and what I can and cannot get away with. Good luck!! If going full M car is an option, you might be happier with that than a bill at the end of your lease. Or the worry of one, even.
Have you driven an F80 M3 back to back with your car? I’m curious how it stacks up? I have driven an M4 and had an M340i loaner for several days... so I’ve had west time in both but not back to back.. I loved both but suspect that the M3/M4 would be more fun/raw/faster in every way minus the cool tech in the newer M340i... but with a JB4 they could close the gap on straight line speed.... if you have the chance get your hands on one and do your own review / rolling races / etc!! *subscribed*
Dillon Simpson I’m somewhat cross shopping the two cars. i had a brand new M340i for almost a week as a loaner and was really really bummed to have to give it back it was an amazing car. Gobs of power sounded great handled awesome and the tech was excellent....But I also was at a BMW M driving event and got a chance to drive a brand new M5 competition M4 competition and an M2 competition all of which were sick!!! I think the cure fun and driving excitement the true M car it would be better but for a daily driver it’s hard to beat that new M340i - it’s a perfect blend of everything. I enjoyed your videos I subscribed and will watch for more and when you get your hands on the M3 and shoot your review / compare Give me a shout out ! 😜. Enjoy the car!!
Sean Crandell that’s what my exact thoughts were. I had driven the m2 competition but couldn’t deal with the interior. Would love an m4 but can’t justify the price point when I drive 10miles to work lol. I wanted something comfortable and still was aggressive when I needed it and this care is truly an incredible blend. I will give you a shout out for sure once I get my hands on one. Thanks for subscribing and the feedback. 🤘🏼
Dillon Simpson good pov. I am still in the same dillema, and should stick w m340i I test drove 330i last yr and it waa a disappointment compared to my ex 328i f30. So this new m340i should be a real beast. The only “issue” is that in my country it is only sold in awd. At least is the 387bhp one.
I have not added the downpipe yet. I have pulled the JB4 off for now and looking for a different route. I just ordered some carbon goodies as well as black out pieces. I will be making a new video when parts arrive.
Dillon Simpson yeah I saw you had a huge problem when you got it towed to the dealer. Gotta be careful when messing with a brand new car man you should’ve waited.
Kamatiiz 43 nothing truly voids the warranty. They can deny a claim if the problem was caused by something aftermarket. Just take it off anytime you go to the dealer and your good!
Nothing can fully void warranty. If something fails and it shows that the jb4 was the reason it won't be covered. however it is a piggy back so if you uninstall it they really don't know you had it.
Unfortunately chief that’s not true....bmw will look for opportunities to void your warranty so your warranty is absolutely toast as of now. I’ve been through a lot with my dealer and my 340!!!! But I think the car should hold up and you may not need to fix anything. But bringing car to dealer for tire they probably already found your mods but they never tell you at first. Modding a leased car (lol) I remember those days...... I don’t lease anymore
Goodfella2.0 you should 100% take it out not just map 0. Saw in g20 forums, someone left jb4 on and brought car into dealer, dealer saw car was running boost too long = probably tuned. They opened the hood and found the jb4. Car was noted and denied warranty. The newer cars have more logging available to dealers. I’ve seen many 2018+ cars have dealers detect jb4 and even cars that had a tune and since have been flashed stock for dealer. At least if you take out the jb4 there’s no physical evidence. Compared to unlocked dme
Orginal manufacture is much better than tuning from private. Private tuning wil cause lot of problems later such as fire on engine and malfunction for transmission and coolant system.. B 58 itself is.best. bmw has done already..studio thing is put tuning software
@@the_batmobile0.4 I know it dosnt matter. I drove it as a loaner was so slow and felt so cheap. I promise you will regret it. I actually already sold the m340. I have a 2021 gtr now but the m340 is a sick car.
@@the_batmobile0.4 gtr feels more planted so it dosnt feel as fast even though it is. 0 features LOL a very over priced car imo. Better with a m340 with big turbos or the Supra and running 9s with less than 4k invested. Gtr was always a dream car but will prob be short lived. Maybe a twin turbo r8 next.
Morten Rasmussen you can’t flash tune this car at home. Locked DME and in CA many dealers look for unlocked DME to deny warranty since it’s a quick scan for them
@@dylan-nguyen Not here, they dont care that much. Yes it is a MG1 ECU , so it is pretty locked. But a patch in bench mode makes read/write possible via obd with a normal flasher. A real tune are made on a dyno.
@@Erickguitar16 lol sorry brother I sold that car a long time ago. Went to a tesla then gtr, trx, Porsche 911, c8 and now building a 51 ford truck with a coyote swap and supercharger. The m340 is a beast though.
Okay only one question..why the hell did Bmw ever think of giving a fake grille to the M line (M340i) that should not be the case!!!! This is a true M line not the normal 3 series, then i would have to get an aftermarket M grille that actually lets air flow..im disgusted
Abid 137 this grill is an active grill and opens when additional cooling is needed. I honestly like this grill more than the m grill and it’s different than the normal 3 series. But I agree it is def a true M car
