thank you so much for the video...I switched the headlights and the fog lights from your links. super easy to install both headlights and fog lights. fyi...I got the yellow fog lights, seems to be the hip thing right now. again thank you for the video, it helped a lot. I didn't know it was that easy to take out the whole head light assembly. the fog light was even easier.

My pleasure, I'm glad the video was helpful! Yes yellow fog lights with LED headlights is a thing right now, and it does look good! But I'm into the all white look, no yellow. Just a personal preference.

I have an 06 Ranger similar to yours, and I installed fog lights on it. I used the same brackets and square lenses as you did. You said the pass side bracket was only held in place by one screw or bolt. I noticed you did not put a bolt the side hole on either bracket you installed. They are held in place by 3 bolts. By the way, I would a way to install the upper two bolts without removing the bumper. I had a friend weld the nuts with a two inch piece of flat metal so I could slide the nut in place, and hold it while I screwed the bolt tight. It worked, but it was a little tedious.
@AutoFixYT
@AutoFixYT Год назад
Yeah I didn't add more hardware. They're secured enough as is. I wish Ford made it easier to access those bolts, very stupid design but whatever.

are those oem head light housings i got some black ones and the top latch that sticks out of the headlight housing to lock the head light in place is janky . it’s like it’s on a ball joint and causes my headlight to bounce around while locked in place and it’s a nightmare at night . so please tell me where you bought those good headlight housings at

Check 1aauto.com, that's where mine are from. They have a couple options for headlight assemblies there. Also, to further answer your question, these are oem style replacement headlights (the actual brand is Depo I think...?)

Hi great video from you , just wanted to ask in my ford rangers similiar to yours replaced the h4 high/low beams and when i flash my high beams the indicator in the dash wont apear like it should only a slight light-up for a split second, is it of the resistance of the leds? Just wanted to know
@AutoFixYT
@AutoFixYT Год назад
No that has nothing to do with the headlight bulbs. It's most likely a bad bulb in the dash, the indicator bulb that is. It's not super easy to pull the cluster out on that but I've done it before, doable with minimal frustration lol

I have a question. How do you turn on low beam lights? I see that you flicked your lights all the way to the right and fog lights are still on. My 06 ranger turns them off when I do that. and I cannot seem to have high beams. when I flick it to the middle setting it’s just the dim orange lights. when it’s on that setting then my fog lights turn on.
@spillem2051
@spillem2051 8 месяцев назад
I am receiving led bulbs in 2 days and I’m wondering if that’ll change the beam mattern and allow me to have both low and high beam finally. it’s just you seem to have a total of 3 headlight settings (the orange lights, low and high) and I only have 2 it confuses me.
@AutoFixYT
@AutoFixYT 8 месяцев назад
The headlight switch on the dash has 3 positions. 1. Off (switch straight up) 2. Parking lights/running lights (one click to the right) 3. Low beams (two clicks/all the way to the right) The high beams are operated throught the multifunction switch, which is the same one that operates your wipers. Pulling on the stalk towards you will flash the high beams. From this position it should return back to the neutral position Pushing it away, towards the dash, will leave the high beams engaged until you pull the stalk back to its neutral resting position. The high beams flashing will operate regardless of the headlight switch position. You should be able to flash them even with the vehicle off. That is a safety thing. However, the solid on potion should only work with the headlight switch in the low beam position. On another note, the fog lights will only operate when the headlight switch is either on the parking light position OR the low beam position. The fog light switch is located on the right side of the radio. The fog lights should NOT be on when the high beams are on. That is also a safety regulation. If something isn't right, you may have bad switches, or someone has previously messed with the wiring. Hope this helps!

@@AutoFixYT thank you so much seriously I had no clue it was operated by the wipers. Take care!

Do you have day time running lights that just come on when you turn the key? If so did you get any flicker from these bulbs? I have an 08 ranger sport 4x4, that has DRL’s and i bought these same bulbs but haven’t installed them yet because of skepticism..
@AutoFixYT
@AutoFixYT Год назад
I do not have DRL. Mine is an 06 so that must be a feature on the newer ones. However... If you didn't know, DRL works by lighting up the high beam bulb at half voltage. Usually LEDs will flicker like you said, because they're not getting full voltage. If they don't flicker that means they are able to operate at half voltage and thus will blind everyone. Regardless of the situation, you will want to disable your DRLs. Look up how to do it, I'm sure someone has posted something online about it.
@LumberZack3
@LumberZack3 Год назад
@@AutoFixYT i think it was because i have a Canadian ranger in the US.. the US ones didn’t have DRL’s but i think after the 2004 model on the Canadian rangers they lost the ability to disconnect it.. although.. i have an LED flasher for my turn signals from diode dynamics and I’m wondering if the flasher will correct that flicker if i get it. I’ll keep what you said in mind and see if there’s another way around it. I appreciate your feedback!
@AutoFixYT
@AutoFixYT Год назад
@@LumberZack3 Hmm yes that is possibly why you have DRLs. So the flickering is actually caused by the low voltage that the bulbs cannot handle. So they just keep turning on and off rapidly. So a turn signal flasher will not solve anything, nor will a resistor. However, there is always a circuit that controls the DRLs. Even if it's as simple as one single wire that supplies power to a relay when the headlights are off. There must be something you can do to disable them.

There's always that one guy, right? Sorry to be that guy, but LED replacements like these produce blinding glare and beam scatter when used in OEM headlight buckets. This is why you see no mention of DOT approval. The end result is that you may see amazingly well, but you are blinding oncoming drivers to get that benefit. Rock on with your bad LED self, but it is something that can earn you a citation and send poor Aunt Bessie into the guardrail.
@AutoFixYT
@AutoFixYT Год назад
That is actually a very common misconception that people have and that comes from many different areas. Especially from the fact that most people don't know how to correctly upgrade and end up with exactly what you're talking about. Trust me, I've experienced it too. There are ways to get a very nice beam with no glare when upgrading to LEDs in factory housings. I have a video coming up in the future where I talk about all this and cover all aspects of how to do it right, and what to avoid to make sure you are NOT blinding others while getting the most lighting for yourself. After years of experimenting with LEDs I can guarantee you I am able to get a perfect beam from all my cars. There are tricks to do it right as well as some things you must have/make sure of to get this right, but it will all be covered in that video. So stay tuned if you're interested. Also, I can assure you this truck has never blinded any oncoming traffic. The beam cutoff is spot on and the headlights are adjusted properly.

@@AutoFixYTGreat response. I replaced everything in my F-150 with lights that can been seen from space. When aimed properly, low beams will not blind anyone. They certainly aren't "plug and play", as the light pattern was quite different than the OEM halogens. Without aiming them thermal damage might occur to oncoming traffic. 😄
@AutoFixYT
@AutoFixYT 5 месяцев назад
@danvanleeuwen1974 that's awesome haha but yes, a well installed set of LED headlights should not blind others and benefit your own visibility.
