Instant Deck Tech: Heliod Combo Company (Modern) 

So anyway, I started blasting...

I've seen a couple lists around this combo but this seems like the most competitive so far.

We need to see this deck played!

Lots of people saying ‘what if ballista is discarded’... Heliod + Anafenza + Seer + Finks = all your creatures infinitely big + you have protection with eos and some birds with flying.

Please play this, looks amazing

Super cool deck! Doesn't it need some form of artifact removal in the sideboard, though? Doesn't the combo instant fold to pithing needle on ballista? You have infinite life at that point, but it seems like it might become a "who draws out first" match.

I'm trying to build something like this for Modern, but I really think the problem is that the Heliod combos don't win the game unless you have Walking Ballista, which makes it a slow combo for how fast Modern is. Yes, infinite life is great against "fair" decks, but against decks that win through combo or Infect you are kinda borked. I've been looking to try adding Hardened Scales and Pelt Collector so that instead of just gaining infinite life, I'm also giving my creatures infinite counters so that my turn 1-2 1-drops are swinging on turn 3 with infinite power and toughness, and if one is Pelt Collector then a chump block won't cut it. I am interested in how people win with Heliod-Spike Feeder in Modern right now, is it just through your opponent conceding because infinite life is a pain or because they are playing "fair" decks that can't combo or mill or Infect past high life totals?

The only problem with infinite life is that there are a lot of decks in Modern that win without damage: Infect, probably a bunch of people messing around with Thassa's Oracle as a better lab maniac, things like that. So I feel like the ways this deck has to get to the Walking Ballista infinite damage combo faster and more consistently are pretty important, and there's even an argument for pushing a little harder in that direction. Regardless, it's pretty sweet, and while infinite life won't mean anything if you just happen to be against Mill (which isn't exactly everywhere, but still, that would make me sad), it definitely shuts the door against Burn.

I actually wouldn't hate a self mill deck with this shell and rally then back
