I took the plunge and cooked my first Instant Pot turkey breast. Thanks to your video I was able to do this successfully. My husband and I enjoyed every bite for dinner and then saved half of the bird for delicious leftovers. Your suggestion of instant onion soup mix for the rub is spot on. It made a wonderful gravy as you mentioned! We don’t care much for the skin so trading off a crispy skin to get an extremely juicy turkey breast is the way to go!

Looks good and easy. Here’s an idea.... use the fat from the cooking liquid to make a roux (equal parts fat and flour), then after the raw flour has cooked out and become toasted, stir the hot broth back in a little at a time until your gravy is the desired consistency.

This will be my third year using this recipe. It’s just so good and the turkey always turns out juicier than if I cook a whole turkey in the oven. I use a Ninja Foodi so I cook one minute less and oil and season before crisping the skin in the same pot.

Very helpful! I have a smaller breast so I will adjust the time and check the temp like you did. I might put veggies in to cook with it. Using that onion soup mix was a great idea. I wonder if injecting the breast could add flavor too?

Hi Karen, Thank you for your very informative videos for a newbie instapot (3 qt) like me. Ref the turkey breast, you said 25” for a 3 lb breast. How long for a 3 lb boneless breast? Thanks so much!

I tried making a 3lb boneless turkey breast in an instant pot you said 6 minutes per pound that wasn't right I checked after 37 minutes on a natural release and it was only 112 degree temperature internally I'm an injured veteran that doesn't have that much money I can't waste food some recipes call for 55 minutes I put it in for another 12 minutes I'll check it again after the natural release is any food left to eat I might have to go to 55 minutes

She used a can of chicken broth, which is sufficient liquid to pressurize.

Never wash meat before cooking!! It causes cross contamination!!

I always wash my meat first. God knows what happened to it at the processing plant. I just wipe everything down with clorox after, including the underside of the faucet, and let the clorox sit there for 2-5 minutes before rinsing everything off.

PS I clean my sink with bleach, and soap water, before and after I wash the turkey.

How long should I cook half a breast? I've used different marinades on each half so I'd like to cook them separately.. one is a Chinese marinade and the other Indian

Hi Kathy I'm pretty new to cooking and I wasn't sure on the time per pound ratio so I called instant pot their recommendation was 8 minutes per pound..... Hope this helps have a blessed day and stay safe

I tried the 8 minutes per pound, and it was way overcooked. She used 5-6 minutes per pound. Next time, I'll try 5 minutes per pound.

Couldn't you wait until you've strained your liquid to add the butter (so you're not removing it when you remove the fat off the top of the liquid, as butter is fat).
