In this video, I swap my Y7 intake manifold with a Y8 intake manifold from a manual 99-00 civic. This video shows the entire swap process as well as a 3 wire to 2 wire IACV conversion and OBD1 conversion. I also show how to block off cold start assist in order to use a 99-00 manifold on a 96-98.

I have a 00 Civic sedan. With the d16y7. Did the Y8 intake swap. Followed the same process, and man, woke up the engine a lot more.

Does any y7 blocks take the y8 i take from factory? I bought a 99 civic ex coupe and thats what it has and i have no idea if everything is stock from factory or if anything was changed? My vin says its vtech 🤷

@@leoboy191 i was meaning does the 1999 civic ex model have either the y7 or y8 block from factory. I read it is only a y8 block?

I have 00 ex coupe with an obd2b y8 harness I’m currently running a d16y7 swap and I have two manifolds that are y8s both manual and auto and I’m running a p2e I’m idling at 1500-2000? How can I go about this

Hey man! Quick possible dumb question. I used this video to help with my mini me swap (z6 head, y7 block, y8 manifold). Huge help as always, made it so much easier and less complicated. Only thing I think I missed was the pin swap. Im currently experiencing idle issues (go figure, typical honda). Could not doing the pin switch cause this? I'm running a p28 with a obd2a jumper.

So after making this video I noticed that most jumpers just combine the two possible iacv wire locations so you dont actually have to do the pin swap on the ecu side, just the 3 wire to 2 wire conversion on the intake side. So that shouldn't be causing your problem. Are you running a chipped or stock p28?

Yeah it should be working. I would clean the iacv and if it's still a problem, check for continuity between the connecter on the plug to the iacv and the pins that plug from the jumper harness into the ecu.

hello i have a d16y4 engine code honda civic. We installed a d16z6 intake manifold and installed a 70 mm throttle. I canceled the red cable as you said and plugged the others into the idle air valve. What did you do with the car ecu? idle air valve not working

make sure your coolant lines are not collapsed or kinked

Yo Nick what's up hey I have a question if you can get back to me. It's about that swap you did in this video with the y8 manifold. I did the same swap on my 99 civic but! I'm using the same TB that was on the y7 mani. So the coolant lines are driffrent on them as yours goes in the back but m8ne isn't any help would be great there's no videos on it and when I see videos doing the swap they all don't show where it's getting hooked up idk why.

Take a look at the original intake manifold in the video at 6:42. On the y7, the idle air control valve is connected to the throttle body. So if you are using the y7 throttle body, you need to run one coolant hose from the left side of the intake manifold (If you are facing the engine bay) to the idle air control valve attached to the throttle body. Then another hose from the throttle body to the coolant pipe underneath the intake manifold. If you need more info or pictures, feel free to DM me on instagram @ej6nicky

Thanks so much I got it cool yeah I knew it was coolant line but under the y8 manifold there's a small black box and and the coolant pipe I didn't know where those hooked up at but I got you cool thx. Hey Nick I have a Question, I have a Y8 auto that I'm converting to manual. I got the Y8 manual intake with the 2 port IAC. Where do I buy the plastic bit that you use to connect it wiring to the IAC? Thanks feel free to DM

I always just grab it from a u-pull junk yard. I'm sure you can find it on Ebay though

Do all manual D16's have that 2 plug?

@@nickweston98 yeah you can find it on autos too. Honda uses the same plug for a few sensors. I believe the IAT on your car probably has the same plug

Hey man I have an auto manifold from a y8 and I’m running a y7 throttle body, I have all my vacuum lines ran correctly, and all I need to do is the 2 wire conversion, what car did you get the plug from and do you have any closer pics of the throttle cable setup?
