Wow John, thanks for the call out about the oil pan memory. Just a heads up on something to remember about on the alternator brackets. The alternator needs to ground to the engine through the bracket so make sure you have clean contact surfaces.
Im in Australia and love this channel I watch it religiously keep up the good work HMU for any old parts I have a ek civic I’m trying to get on the track and will pay cheers keep em coming
Hey mate! building one myself, (DC2 /w B18C Turbo) please don't hold back on the hints and tips if you have them! always happy to learn more, excellent attention to detail!
Well I really hope you include all integra and B18c info you can. If the car runs and drives after you proved your point and the comments are someone else opinion. Keep up the details and great work
A few days ago at my job I had on a royal blue tshirt. Abruptly one of my coworkers insolently asked about the color. My reply and counter disconcerted him, I told him that it's LHT blue...to RU-vid the channel.
Hi the alternator brakets after powder you have to remove the paint where the bolts go so you can have good ground, had to deel with that problem like a week ago
lol right. How else are you going to differentiate one of two seals on the crankshaft. Not only this but you will not find this side of the engine facing forward on a front-mounted engine
I am not a Honda guy so I had no idea about the spring tensioner on that motor; so strange seems like that wouldn’t be enough tension. I’m surprised there isn’t a hydraulic tensioner modification.
@@LHTPerformance thanks again. I will try to make a replica on forza 3. Wish they'd make the integra again. I even left a comment on honda's latest civic type r ad. Made a suggestion to bring back the s2000 as an affordable rwd to boost there sales in naturally aspirated k20 or a type r turbo
Hey John, my dream is too have you build my car one day, but in the mean time do you know of any Good shops in NC? I just moved down here from NY and I'm in a small town that just has backyard mechanics. Do you personally recommend anyone here? Thanks bud
Yeah, I can tell that China sold your design. It looks like every single cheap eBay turbo manifold ever sold. I'm not trying to talk shit, except on whatever Chinese company copied your design and sold it over and over again. I had one on my D series as well as when I put my first B18B1 in my EJ8 Civic coupe and the wastegate hit the hood and dented it over and over again. As soon as I could I bought a PLM top mount turbo manifold and replaced that cheap China manifold, but it served it's purpose for a while. I'm sure the manifold that you made was MUCH better quality than the cheap Chinese copies.
Nonsense a the measurement with tool is way better . Real engine builder barely use it because its more for a reference . You'd use the measuring equipment/tools mic . And if you spent thousands then why take a risk??!
Dude. Pro tip. Buy a new OEM oil pump and water pump. You lost my interest by using used non oem parts. That to me says you really don't care that much about this engine. It's only another $300 and get some new OEM water pipe seals too.
MIKE HAWK Thanks Pro. I personally built this motor less than 10,000 miles ago using OEM parts . I know those parts are fine. Tune tuned, Maybe it will blow up first pull in the dyno.
