Intel's Other Stock Cooler....

Most modern socket 1700 Intel Processors ship with the Laminar RM1 cooler. It's a small, covered in plastic, and does an adequate job. If you purchase a higher end CPU however, then you get the RH1, which is a lot bigger and generally unavailable on it's own.
I recently found one for just £10, which is cheaper than any other aftermarket option, so I just had to try it out with my i5 12400F.

@@RandomGaminginHD Since you made an Intel video I would like to inform you that Acer is doing a major discount on their (Intel ARC) Bifrost card as some type of celebration. The A750 is £80 off atm. Alot of other things are on discount aswell like the AMD RX7600 OC is also £80 off or their Predator gaming mouse which is £50 off. On a system that is being stressed in hotter temperatures, even a couple of degrees improvement can mean the difference between full and stable clock boosting or thermal throttling. I am a big fan of putting a higher end processor's stock cooler on a lower end processor. Eleven years ago, a friend of mine and I built a brand new computer for his parents and brothers. It was an AMD Athlon II X4 which came with its own little stock cooler. I had helped my friend build his own personal AMD Phenom II X6 machine and he went with an upgraded aftermarket cooler for it. We put his Phenom II x6 cooler on his parent's machine and that Athlon II stayed 15*C cooler under load than with its own cooler. 8 or so may not seem like much but, it really is.

When i got my hands on a 12400f i used the stock cooler, temps werent amazing, but what really got the temps down for me was a cheap chinese socket bracket. The cooler was so firm to the processor it became a real pain just to get it off. At one point i thought that i would just crack the cpu, but 65 C max on load really speaks for itself when using it. Just goes to show how much proper mounting matters

I honestly think that stock coolers are the best route to go with for budget systems. They are designed to keep CPUs cool enough under realistic loads rather than stress tests so you can have a guarantee that your CPU will not overheat. It is best to not overclock while using a stock cooler, as it has led to some Ryzen 5 3600s to fail over time, but if you're rocking an Intel CPU, that's not a problem anyway because all non-overclockable CPUs are the only ones to get a stock cooler.

Not bad for its price. Props to Intel for returning to copper-core stock coolers like they did back in Netburst era.

Definitely worth 10 bucks to me. Quieter and cooler makes it so. Have a great day.

Got an ID-Cooling SE-214-XT wich under full load keeps my i5 12400f under 52 degrees :), here in Romania that cooler costs less than 20 bucks.

I know it's a test system, and it does look fantastic with that motherboard, but it's really funny looking at a motherboard like that paired with a stock cooler lmao.

I got yoked. My 12400 came with a super cheapy that still fits the socket. What gives? Looks like it's 10th gen. I had a PCCoolers 180 Watt TDP cooler collecting dust so I used that instead anyway. Thing is, if the stock cooler looked as nice as either of these, I would have just used that.

Stock tower cooler for 1366 might still be the best stock cooler ever made

Wait why is green the color for the coolest temperature? Wouldn’t blue be the obvious choice? That seems bizarre. Is it a UK thing?

If the plastic pillars were aluminium fins, the cooler could have been so much better. That's a missed opportunity right there.
