And thats coming from a teenager who ate twilight up but this was my favorite vampire movie as a child and still is too this day. They each have their own merits and styles. They're both good in their own rights.

@@AlyJoLuv with Anne and her sons approval. She loved when things were changed and different from her source material in adaptations, from what I've read. She didn't give a fuck if it didn't follow her books and was very different from them. I'm really enjoying the changes that they've made. It's okay if you haven't. But ultimately all of the changes were made with Anne and her son's approval. They didn't care. You shouldn't either. Book purists kind of suck. Just because there are changes doesn't mean that these people shouldn't react to the show. 🤷‍♀️

Smh, shows how much you know about the authors true intentions. The show now is Nothing like her work, it's a Shipper show that dares to call itself the adaptation that the author wanted when in truth she never got a true say and her material has been held hostage by three companies now. And don't even get me started on the diversity hires to be able to put their show in for awards 🙄. The characters she wrote were not gay coded but the type of relationship they shared was a different kind of love and longing/ comfort that could only be interpreted through immortal beings trying to find life in living such a lonely existence. It didn't and still doesn't matter about gender or sexuality, they chose their companions and operated not by humans societal norms. I'm so upset that because this show has the audacity to call itself 'Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire ' I will now officially never get to see her work truly adapted as she intended it and she died before getting to see her vision translated how she intended on the screen. And I don't give a flying you know what that her son is apart of the project, kids are often a disappointment.

@@AnxietyRat yes she did care, what are you reading, she has stated multiple times that she wants her work respected, she hated the changes made by the studios who made queen of the Damned purely to spite her instead of letting the contract run out and given back to her, so no she did not like changes. She did not have all this creative control you speak of and if she gave any kind of permission most likely it's because at the last stages of her life she was probably tired of it all and just said whatever to the studio and probably even to her son. In my opinion, wearing out the author to that point and not showing any respect to her vision is something the current show producers should be ashamed of. What's the point in getting the rights to something that you're not gonna even follow? F**king cowards who can't trust their own writing and need to rely on the hype of an already established fandom because they don't have any creative balls of their own🖕🤬 And frinkin people just accepting this show as if this is all ok is only pissin me off more 🙄 😒 ya I refuse to bother with this show. I'm clearly filled with so much visceral animosity that it would be nothing but torture for me at this point. Just the shear mention of it sends me into a tizzy.

Maybe not a full on comedy but it definitely had some of that "gallows humor", whenever Lestat was around.
