Likewise, maybe I am an Ni dominant. Before an advanced calculus class final in college l showed those also early a shortcut for how to solve a particular type of problem. No one understood it. Neither did I, but it worked and the only reason I used it was because I didn't really understand how to solve the problem legitimately so I invented a "shortcut transformation" to get the desired end result each time.
@voxpopuli5169
@voxpopuli5169 6 лет назад
I also figured out how to apply Karnaugh Maps used for designing circuits to solve modal logic problems in a philosophy class as a huge shortcut from what was taught, but in that case I got a D on the related test and was lucky to end the class with a B because the process unfortunately WAS graded. It wasn't really rocket science though. But perhaps cognitive function related.

Some of the things you say about INTJs are very true for INTPs as well, even when you mention it in opposition. Like for example that INTJs question everything. Maybe the difference is in that INTJs question intention while INTPs question truth.

particle Config. --> great point. if this is true, I guess I am an INTJ when the info being presented is 'known' by me, and I slip into INTP when I am in a research mode of intaking new information. this would agree with Jung's spoken comment I saw on RU-vid, where he said a person (including himself) can shift types and that the 'types' weren't written in stone.

I have always tested sometimes as INTJ and sometimes as INTP. I lack the high self esteem of the INTJ and the extremely high push to achieve academic learning of the INTP. I retained flexibility, but without structure my life stalled, and all the perfectionism did was remind me of just how badly I had failed. I'm 46, so believe me when I say to you: the combination of perfectionism and lack of structure = pure chaos and misery. There IS NO PERFECTION. It's an illusion, an unreachable absolute. And anyway, you will never have ALL the information. It's SO much better to be HAPPY than PERFECT! Get yourself a bit of structure and you'll be much happier in the long run. Don't build your strengths while ignoring your deficiencies, because they WILL bite you on the ass. Peace out.

Kitty Pepper PhD As for the test thing, I was mistyped by self taking the test three times in different periods of my life as an ENFP ( ! ) while I am an INTP... Several things led me to think a bit more precisely what I really look like instead of what I thought I was... Also, seeing some very brief videos on some types made the distinction very easy and clearer so when I saw the INTP one I felt a creepy feeling that someone knew...what it's like to be in my head... and then I realized that I was this type.... :) Also I instantly realized who else on my circle was an INTP as well! Which was huge for me... And was able to categorize other persons with sticking characteristics quite easily or at least find the 2-3 out of 4 letters and then narrow down the options greatly etc. Also maybe my INTP mind eventually was ready to read better between the lines of this system, idk... 🤷‍♀️ 🙂

@The V word hello, some things you have mentioned are similar to my own behaviour. you are most likely an INTJ, based on Jungian cognitive functions theory . + in the manner of being more flexible on authority, proportionate to practicality or rationale - although this doesn’t strictly imply Si, it does represent relatively healthy Te in any case + narrowed down interests may imply either Si or Ni, but given that they are referred to as “obsessive” by you leads me to believe it is Introverted Intuition. high Introverted Sensation users will not see it as obsessive, but normal . AsuraPsych has also made a video on the obsession binges in correlation to Introverted Intuition, so i would recommend you watch it for further information + Experiencing emotions internally, but feeling the need to repress it is an indicator of childish, Tertiary Introverted Feeling + the main, more obvious reason you are 9/10 times an INTJ is because of insecure Se, in regards to sensitivity to sensory stimulation . you definitely are not a Sensation type . This is a cause-and-effect argument hope this helped .

As an INTP this triggered me. I had to paus, think about my structure and promise myself that I'll be able to build a skyscraper before I die. There's too much I don't know and it freaks me out. Nothing scares me more than to think that I've built a sandcastle. Also, I can see how an INTJ and INTP could be a dangerous match. The INTP brings the bigger picture and the networking, the INTJ executes and makes it work in reality.

I think you have it backwards, mate. INTPs work within the rules and have a vivid concept of reality. INTJs don't care for rules at all and almost accidentally bend/warp reality. Also, perhaps you're actually an INTJ. I know they have a nasty habit of thinking they're not very intelligent. They walk around worried that they're rather dim and overcompensate by doing copious amounts of research. INTPs are usually very confident in how intelligent they are.

As an INTP, I think that we are not interested in the "small talk" just to be doing small talk (or at least I'm not), but more interested in building our internal structures. I often find small talk over long term can build strands that can eventually be manipulated to pull empirical knowledge from others (new potential pathways) until I'm awkwardly left with people who are sharing too much and, as much as I care about people in general, I suddenly don't care.
@ronaldthump793
@ronaldthump793 5 лет назад
As a fellow INTP, you read my mind. I build a solid foundation with for example, 'Sensor Feelers' to probe information on how to help them or help myself build on more knowledge to solve the world's problems. Through this way, I have built unbreakable bonds with people who will have this unique interaction stuck in their memory for a very long time... Unless I speak what's on my mind; then I'm viewed as speaking out of turn , insulting or hurting their feelings based on their socially acceptable sensitive environment. Not so much the latter thank god! This usually happens when I state facts that conflict with their world view in a 'matter of fact' and cold manner.

Also, I understand systems conceptually so evaluate the region where an answer *ought* to lie^ am lazy though. Didn't help being able to deduce answers and gain a holistic understanding quickly. I don't think INTPs specifically care about fitting in, we usually don't fit in and are fine with that. But I think you're correct in that the INTP will operate slightly more harmoniously with others. In my experience with first meeting people who I know are INTJs, they tend to not care to bother interacting with you if they don't think the interaction can be immediately useful for them. Whereas an INTP doesn't immediately think about an interactions usefulness so much, as just getting along with the person is seen as useful in and of itself. I've observed INTJs ability to dismiss a persons usefulness as flawed shortsightedness, as well inherently cold as fuck.

It's true, writing someone off at face value only makes you less knowledgeable about the people around you. Although as an intp(I presume) if I know that someone won't be a part of my life for any long amount of time, I can tend to be avoidant simply to save myself the energy and to prevent any potential awkwardness. Putting on the jokey mask takes energy that I'm not always willing to expend on people I'll only know briefly.
@DrVein
@DrVein 5 лет назад
I disagree. What you describe as being the typical way an INTJ thinks of people is just good old fashioned "stuck up". I'm an INTJ, and it's very difficult for me to explain what's happening but I'll try. I've heard a great way to put it by other youtubers so I'll parrot that back to you. INTJs see the future. We analyze things and people at mach 5 speed because we've subconsciously memorized millions of patterns. These patterns are gathered throughout our lives as we witness varying occurrences. So essentially, we're walking, talking statistics calculators. We can calculate the likelihood of a person enjoying our company. We know we're odd to most people so most people won't like us. Not only that but we're generally speaking, socially inept. So even when we think we'll get along with someone, it's probable that we'll have no clue as to how to approach them. If I see a person I immediately take to, my first instinct is to shout in their face, "I LIKE YOU, LET'S BE FRIENDS! I HAVE BOOKS, WOULD YOU LIKE TO READ ONE!?" This is not socially acceptable but I don't know what else to do so I just don't try. We like people probably more than most INTPs. In fact we're far more interested in forming longterm, lasting friendships. Our hearts are easily broken however, and it's never easy to see a friend go. That's why it's hard for us to form acquaintanceships. If I like someone, I love them.
@TheTheode
@TheTheode 5 лет назад
@@DrVein I think intps do this same snap judgement and pattern recognition thing. The key difference is that our judgements occur, but then we question ourselves about them because our experience is just as subjective and prone to error as anyone else. Then we question if our question was flawed because of this and we fall down the rabbit hole of analysis paralysis. I completely agree with the awkwardness and not knowing how to share my interests without coming off as blunt or proselytizing. Generally, I just act completely nonserious and jokey as a way of not being vulnerable with people I don't know. It's better to be a witty fool than a foolish wit, and I don't like coming off as too obvious and opinionated.

You’ve described this the clearest I’ve encountered, and believe me, I’ve read countless articles and watched countless videos. I’ve always typed as an INTJ since I was a teen. But a few years ago, a friend told me maybe I’m an INTP as I’m not as blunt and softer/less judgmental than most INTJ. (I actually do draw conclusions, but I have the tact to not always say them. lol) I do have a lot a projects and am always creating things, and sometimes do have a mess, but I’m always organizing, so it did make it a little unclear. I also do have an almost photographic memory, do notice inconsistencies, see connections between things often, am always editing and correcting my and others’ grammar and procrastinate responsibilities at times, and hate the deadlines of others. However, I’m always analyzing and asking questions, having flashes of insight, always I’m doing a goal though not necessarily the most practical and sometimes a theoretical or creative one, am always organizing and enjoy order and structure, and always trying to live in the moment of mindfulness. Your description of the all of the functions, especially the primary functions, made it clear to me that my type is definitely an INTJ as I’ve always typed. I think understanding the inner functions are very important. Some of the tests and people in general often take too much stock in the external expressions (such as being organized, messy, etc.) and that’s what made it confusing for me, and why I have typed INTP a few times after my friend suggesting that type, when I always typed as INTJ prior to her suggestion. Thanks so much. I’d love to see more videos on the INTJ and INTP types.

INTJ, yea skipping steps and going straight to the answer has gotten me into so many problems in school, if it wasn't the teachers forcing me to write everything out step by step (because further down the education line, that's how it's graded) or figuring out the solution to the technical graphics classes work without any process, and ultimately failing even though I had the right answers. I am an INTP and I can say this, everything you said about INTPs is true, but for me I am also capable of predicting conversations, and this is why I tend to say or ask stuff that can be considered "new" instead of just following the "common order of conversations." (Not sure how to call it but I'm way too lazy to put my thoughts on the name of this thing.) And because of that, I am considered to be random by many people.
@titaniumslug

That was always one of the things that irritated me the most. When I contribute something novel and interesting to the conversation and people just say: "Thats a bit random". Basically they are saying that because they cannot keep up. They were expecting to be able to respond with some cookie cutter comment. They weren't expecting to be intellectually stimulated. I have learnt to not be apologetic about this, and assign greater social importance to people who are susceptible to interesting things.

★ Cuddlepuff ★ It sucks because the more you internalize experiences and toss them around, the more dull and predictable the average day becomes, and it becomes questionable how you can create excitement for yourself. It may be a bit mean, but I think of it as a kind of game. If I through in this comment what reaction will I get? If act this way in this environment, where will it get me? Great video, keep up the good work. While I understood your point about INTJs being focused on the outcome with your math class example, I would still assert that you did have logical steps going through your mind while you were doing the problems, otherwise you're not really doing math. Even if you were a genius like Lev Landau or Richard Feynman, who could arrive at conclusions regarding physical systems based solely on verbal reasoning while the establishment required math to arrive at the same conclusion, you are still making a logical explainable progression of ideas. I would submit that you simply didn't see the value in explaining your answers because, as an INTJ, you were so focused on the outcome that stopping to explain each step becomes a distraction for you, one that you will not tolerate. An INTJ does not care about why a formula works, for example, they just want to use that formula to obtain the desired outcome. On the other hand an INTP loves to talk about the why and would gladly take all day to explain every step in detail.

At my last temporary work : INTP : Hello, are you doing well ? (to a group of 3 people) happy face, eyes and smile. Take his time, in case of someone want talk more. INTJ : Hi. (generally to one person, to the point coworker ESTP asked me if he told hello to her too) It’s planned, tunnel vision. If you ask him : how are you. He never answer, or just answer : good. And go directly to his desk. Sometimes forget. I am INFJ, and one day I tell to INFP she don’t need to ask me how am I. Most of time I know people don’t care of what others really feel. My authentic answer is : like all humans, have ups and downs, depend of the moments. If I tell I am bad, it change nothing, because people don’t care, don’t help, don’t have solutions, they just says : it will goes well, it’s ok. Most of the time I have the solutions but it’s take time. Rare are the people who know psychology. I never ask how people are, and if I ask, it’s because I notice they look bad, and if I really care about the person, and if I have time. Most of the times it’s hi. Others coworkers INFJ, INTJ, generally it’s just hi or nothing. At school, or home I hated says hello to people, because I saw them every day. I didn’t see the interest, waste of time, just not important.

Thank you for this. My mind jumps to strategic conclusions so quickly and l thought maybe it was an ability to race through logical decisions. It turns out I am making those decisions based on previous experiences or observations. It also explains my apathy or difficulty in paying attention to other peoples conversations. I had just taken the Briggs test before researching your video. The weirdest thing was that INTP videos were showing up in my RU-vid feed. I am definitely not an INTP. As an INTP I never for a second thought that I might be INTJ (that would be reserved for INFP) but I always wanted to learn how to behave like an INTJ temporarily just so that I could finally see my ideas realized in the physical world. The few times that I confidently went with the first idea that popped into my mind it always seemed to work out, but I find it much more natural to keep over-thinking instead.

INTJs first anticipate answers through Ni (dominant function) and then proceed to map a logical route to reach those solutions through Te. They will use Se to collect evidence to support their conclusion and will ignore any data they deem unrelated to their end-goal. Fi serves as an internal alarm for the INTJ by helping the INTJ review details before moving further down a bad plan and (attempting) to understand how he/she feels about his/her actions.

I agree but I still don’t understand why people hate on our tertiary function. You see I’m quite paradoxical in the way that I am an INTJ but I am also a musician and film director - A business that involves lots of emotional meaning and messages behind it. Typically no I’m not the most empathetic or emotional person. BUT, the scales are vast in the spectrum and perhaps it is because in early development I had already loved abstract and artistic messages and concepts. So my point is, although a personality type is typically a certain way that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a unique spectrum of them. Just be careful not to get too obsessively fixated on that picture that’s inside your head because you will find that often leads to great disappointment. Still strive though.

i’m also intj. intj-t specifically, unfortunately for me because that basically just means i question myself more & for some odd reason i find myself caring what other people think even when i know based on facts and logic that i am right. definitely agree the skipping the middle part... or at least definitely trying as hard as we can to. i came up very close on J and P but i think that may be where the Turbulence comes in, the -T part. i do relate more to the understanding of an INTJ but i do definitely have that internal framework of a P that you mentioned & conceptualizing... but i am strict on things i feel very strongly about... whether it be against societal norms or not. & i have gone against even people in my house with facts constantly to explain to them why things don’t make sense & i am able to have them understand me. that’s the biggest difference i’ve noticed between me & research i’ve done on most intjs... i wannnt to explain to people, want people to understand, although i do wish they would understand more easily & i wouldn’t have to shove facts at them. i definitely relate much more to intj & like i said i believe the close P is is what related to the turbulence because my caring about what people think would therefore cause me to care if they understand me... psychology is very interesting to me, i’m constantly using it to understand the world & myself & i find myself being very good at it... maybe too good. painfully good because i wind up understanding things i don’t want to understand about how society and people function & i wind up with no friends partially because i don’t want the kinds of friends that they are... which may sound fuckedup but i just don’t want to talk about trivial things. or gossip. or go out to a club or a bar. or any of that nonsense. & that seems to be all girls my age wannnnnt to do. people like to call me a grandma because i prefer sitting at home teaching myself things over the things i find so nonsensical that people my age prefer to do. knitting, which i’ve known how to do since 5th grade when my mother taught me & never forgot how to do, is apparently only for grandmas... until you make something people want. then you’re not a grandma. oh & wanting to not deal with annoying fake people makes me a grandma too apparently. super fun living in this generation. i’ve always felt like i was in the wrong place, i think it’s because i am.

@stephyyyt

@The V word the more i read your comment… the more i feel i can personally relate… which is very odd... because i’m hardly relatable. i was never diagnosed on the spectrum but my parents always thought that it was a possibility, although i think my cognitive development could have masked it… i can definitely say that i would agree to your description of enjoying new intellectual stimulation & disliking surprises or not being given time to mentally prepare for some things, although i wouldn’t just consider it emotionally stimulation as a whole, for me personally. i was diagnosed with ocd & anxiety as of recently & misdiagnosed with other things as a young adult but diagnoses are always limited to the diagnostic evidence & the person doing the diagnosis & there’s quite a bit of room for error so i wouldn’t worry as much about diagnosis as i would about the symptoms you experience, in a general sense.

Am an INTJ and i think INTPs are great, and in the past i did alot of notes and tips or ideas or conceptions about them, but Unfortunately, i forgot almost all of them, and i agree with some of what you said about them, ig one of their problems is that they can be very misled by a theory sometimes and the bigger problem is they are very stubborn about it and won't give a chance to anyone to let them change it, even if it's wrong and they know it's wrong, they will do and say whatever it takes to prove that you're the wrong side.. it's triggering.. but sure not all of them are like that, some are really awesome, like Prof. Jordan Peterson for example.. i love him.

@Lord-Heihachi 5 лет назад
@Shikamaru Nara Yes, all what you said is true, but what i said is an experience of of two INTPs i delt with before, and sometimes ENTPs too, the things i mentioned up there qre actually some of the unhealthy Ti traits, if you already know enough about cognitive functions you would understand what i mean, and i just tried to describe them in my own way and experience.. And imo, it's very important to mention both healthy/unhealthy traits of each cognitive function/MBTI type to get more ideas about yourself and therefore self development.. for example, i read that one of Ni unhealthy traits is "assuming, fast judgment and building ideas on those assumptions and so, without even making sure if what i thought about is true or not".. and that's hasty.. after i read that i saw myself as really fits the description, and there, i started to change. So yeah, what you said is so true for normal healthy INTP.

Nice video but i this list of differences would be more observable. 1. INTPs often seem more attuned to understanding group emotions than INTJs. 2. When INTPs meet someone new they tend to quickly grasp the relationship's purpose whether personal or business-related. Unlike INTJs they usually set emotional boundaries early on and adjust as necessary. They often bridge social gaps by creating shared experiences of joy or challenges focusing more on personal connections than on titles. 3. INTJs might lean towards believing in absolute truths whereas INTPs may see truths as relative reflecting individual beliefs and perspectives. 4. If INTJs notice a mistake they are likely to point it out directly and offer corrections to help others learn. INTPs on the other hand often focus on understanding why the error occurred seeking insight into the person's thought process. 5. INTJs tend to intertwine emotions with various activities viewing enjoyment as part of work. INTPs however usually separate fun activities but can switch between them frequently. 6. INTPs often engage in comparing and clarifying concepts recognizing subjective interpretations. They are generally more open to exploring these differences. INTJs however might see terminology as more objective and are less inclined to make such comparisons. 7. INTJs typically prefer concise answers and might be less likely to engage in detailed concept comparisons than INTPs. 8. When describing event stages INTJs often focus on how each stage leads to the next (A leads to B B leads to C). INTPs tend to focus more on the stages themselves without emphasizing transitions as much. 9. INTPs usually describe reality in terms of properties and structure. INTJs might describe it through movements interactions and changes. 10. When planning INTPs often focus on the goal itself sometimes overlooking the steps needed to reach it. INTJs tend to focus on each step in a detailed step-by-step process. 11. INTJs may adjust their goals more easily based on progress while INTPs often prefer to stick to their original goals. 12. INTPs typically judge options by their likelihood to achieve the goal and might dismiss choices that don't help. INTJs may prefer to adjust their goals to fit their current options. 13. INTPs often seek new experiences rather than revisiting old ones unless they hope to learn something new from them. 14. INTJs might use emotional anchors like books movies or places to strengthen their inner emotional state and will often repeat these experiences. 15. When developing a plan INTJs tend to immerse themselves in the process and might struggle to manage multiple plans at once. INTPs usually view the process as external and can manage it more objectively. 16. INTPs often feel discomfort with projects lacking clear end-goals because they have more difficulty monitoring progress. INTJs may handle such projects better. 17. In conversations INTJs often prefer monologues turning dialogues into a series of turns. INTPs tend to prefer a question-and-answer style.

I don't know if it's just me or what but I always see this stereotype about INTJs thinking they're always right. But I kinda disagree with it. Like it's not that I'm always right... it's just that usually people are never completely right about anything and I want to help them by pointing it out. I mean... I'm not always right... it's just that people always think they're right and they don't want to think about all the other reasons that they're wrong or could be wrong. I think a more accurate stereotype would be "almost never wrong about anything" because how often do we actually come to conclusions? There are just so many possibilities for everything. If I think about it too much, yeah I'm always right. But doesn't everyone think that about themselves?

While I find most of what you say to be fine, you keep saying that INTPs like doing calculation, even when you talk about Albert Einstein; while an INTP can like calculation I'm sure, INTPs would like composing functions over doing calculation because functions are general (abstractly define something), and, thus, explain more than just a measly calculation.

I'm an INTJ and have been stuck in INTP jobs which are not my strength or interest. I can't stand coding and related work, but I studied computer science and it was not for me and hated it and strugled. However, I like researching the landscape of technology to devise possibilities. I have a hard time finding work suited for INTJ and I think it is because they tend to be leadership or entrepreneurial or harder to quantify. I'm an entrepreneur, strategist, planner, visionary, philosopher, big picture researcher, whole system integrator, not an engineer, technician etc. For many years I tried to make myself an INTP because that was how I saw my identity and how I saw smart people, but it was not me. I didn't even know about the types though.I also hated school and felt it was total BS. I went to college because I was scared into it, but also thought it was total scam and worthless. I share many of your sentiments. I have discovered many things about myself before ever looking into personality types and was a bit torn between INTJ/P even tho I scored as INTJ. After watching this video it's been made really clear to me that I'm INTJ because I like to have a birds-eye view on things and only get interested/excited about learning something once I see the purpose for doing so. I quit college more because of personal reasons but I really hated all the useless (in my mind at the time) classes, this was a contributing factor to me ultimately deciding to never go to college again to get a CS degree and instead teaching myself. I for one enjoy coding but probably because I haven't done it for that long and haven't built similar projects multiple times. I do think that my my ideal career path would lead me to a more architectural role that doesn't focus on building small components but rather understanding other's work and finding ways to glue everything together to achieve the final product. I do think that the traditional education system was not for me but it's the right fit for most people. I think I'd try to find the best path for my child be it traditional or not because I really do see the value of such structure for other people (religion, rules, imposed limitations).

I realise that the introverted INTUITION is "above " everybody / everything and then jumps to the goals and I have been told this since childhood that i did not realise how much i just wanted the end. Like you it frustrated me to explain my math test answer. That is the only reason i stopped doing more mathematics. I realised i have already learned the most important which will suit me for life and forgot to pay attention to my classes.Also i like that you separate the potential and the norm of the intelligences. For me the Ni is as much strength as weakness. With the example of Nikola Tesla it is great since it is able to speed things up( the vision and the Te). But with the average INTJ it would be a small minus since we know but we cannot explain the process behind it. I used to be so afraid in biology and science classes whether the teacher accepted my answer or if i needed to explain the hows behind the answer. An INTJ that teaches should also explain the how he understood but that happened to be complex. What I want to know if anyone here knows: do you know how capable an INTP is to visualize in pictures like INTJS? Also i like to think that Ni could compensate enough for Ti since Ni could deepen our understanding even further. Finally i liked the example with the sky

INTJ here! The long fuse analogy about feelings is soooooo true. If my bf (INTP)says something that I am not sure what he means by it, I’ll ask a lot of questions trying to clarify, at this point, he’s already come to the conclusion that he’s offended me and now I am “angry”. I would then reassure him that I’m clarifying. Once he’s clarified... usually it’s a misunderstanding or poor word choice or wrong timing for that kind of humor or something. Then I would calmly say, “ I’m not angry. That word choice or humor was poorly placed but thanks for clarifying. Since we communicated past that issue I am happy again.” Then I would tell him that it takes a lot a lot a lot to make me angry. You pretty much have to say, “You’re scum, I hate you, you’re an awful human being... (and throw serious accusations at me)” that might be the only way to hurt my feelings as well as betray me of course.

That means that kind of INTJs are looping.. Ni-Fi loop, and looping is an unhealthy state for all types, also there are grips which means your Inferior function takes over, it's close to stress or ig it's the stress itself when you're exposed to something that led you to it.. the difference between looping and stress is that stress is more obvious than looping and it takes less time than looping, while looping can also take a little time but sometimes takes a lot of time, hours, days, months & even years, and looping is more common than stress.. and ofc, each type has a different loop/stress way according to their different functions.. and as an INTJ, i can say those some INTJs you know (sensitive & sympathetic) as you described, i would say yes, that's how i become when i loop, my stress is more like deeply emotional, very angry or furious and doing things that am not aware of, like totally lost control of myself, and that's rare.

Thank you, it’s clear now, I’m an INTP. But I found that I have a same reaction to small talk, I don’t enjoy small talk. I only listen the others starting their small talk is because to build more stable relationship with them, but in fact, I don’t want to hear them at all, feel bad.

I think an INTJ in a Ni-Fi loop can somewhat resemble an INTP, due to their lack of execution. I think an INTJ who spends a lot of time internalizing and analyzing their ideas and visions, finding subjective meaning within them, can easily mistype as an INTP, due to their inaction.

Crystalizing a vision of the future and going for it with everything I've got describes exactly where I'm at in my life right now.......listening to psychology youtube videos while I spend all the time and energy I can produce to prep my house to sell and move cross country :D Some peoples' descriptions of cognitive functions make me confused, but the way you describe INTJ thinking fits me perfectly. I wish there was more cohesion and consistency in the available information on typology, MBTI, etc, or some easy way to weed out the people that don't know what they're talking about and say it anyway. :/ Finally: I think you just said INTJs come across as apathetic because they don't care. 🤔 Sounds legit. :D

I'm still struggling with fully accepting and embracing the fact that I'm an INTJ, although 10 versions of the MBIT have all arrived to the same conclusion. I've examined the ENTJ and now the INTP and neither ring as true as the INTJ. I guess I'm just a more situationally extroverted, more verbally expressive INTJ then most, provided the company is intellectually stimulating. But yes, true to INTJ form, afterwards I do need to recharge my battery.

I get that your type is INTJ but please make more INTP videos since you are a mbti practitioner so it will be very beneficial to other INTPs whether real or mistyped.

INTPS are just as cold as the INTJS and the Architect of ideas while the INTJ are the implementers both question the world but in different ways INTJS question a persons intent while INTPS question the universal truth .

Interesting… I would say that I (an INTP). Hate small talk but I can see how not participating in them can make me look apathetic. Most of the time I just autopilot it and walk away. BTW in my early twenties I was watching videos about correct ways to socialize. They had said that when someone asks you how you are? - You ask them back how are they. Yup… It woke me up.

I had recently been thinking about the INTJ propensity to answer a question with ‘why do you want to know?’ and determined that this is due to their nature as a dominant perceiver. From that modality, all judgement is first a matter of perception, so to assay a proper judgement they first need to know the context and scope of the question. Without such parameters, the answer can take a number of forms, perhaps contradictory, and the INTJ would be loathe to offer an answer that might be denied by contextual maneuvering. Thus, they narrow the terms to a perspective they can offer a certain judgement on. An INTP, on the other hand, when presented with a query, might offer a number of ideas, perhaps unrelated, that shed some insight onto the problem. Instead of narrowing down to a particular perspective, they are offering a variety of possible perspectives which then the interlocutor might then attach a certain degree of valuation.

I’m an intp with an intj best friend. I have learned from watching and interacting with him on how to push my visions into reality and on how to get my will power up to his standards. He doesn’t allow me to be emotionally unstable and he pushes me to be as intellectual as possible. He catches all of my mistakes and I catch all of his so we both can grow and change for the better. I want another video about this.

Predicting things outcomes only grants reward when you're proven right or wrong. If there is no knowledge gained from my input, then it serves no purpose. Concepts with no execution tend to feed the thought process but do little else.

do intjs procrastinate? i saw this video about J vs P and they said Js plan goals, but Ps just do everything last minute. i would think of self as INTJ but that one video challanged everything because i tend to procrastonate all the time...
@princesscharis
@princesscharis 5 лет назад
it depends what you want to do and the underlying reasons you procrastinate. I am an INTJ and I have artistic talents such as dancing, I procrastinate to finish some of my handmade costumes because in the past I had traumatic experiences with people harassing me, while I love dancing and I dance all the time ... at home.... I avoid dancing professionally 3 years now. But I will finish it and do what I have to do because I need a job... and other jobs that I can do I have to deal with people and money wise don't pay as good! There is always a reason why you procrastinate, just find the reason and face your demons!

I believe that we are more "prophetic" than our "p" counterparts ..I predicted that in 2004 the red Sox would win the world series , same with 2013 , same with villanova winning March Madness last year ...and yes I had the cubs to win and picked the pats *giants fan* this year so I'm not biased ..point being is I don't know where I got from ...there was no analysis of stats with players like a INTP would ..I just saw it in my head and stuck with it....also to me I guess these "predictions" are guiding me as well ....too deep but truth

Why do you spend time investigating so deeply into the INTPs? -from an INTP friend. Btw I love seeing INTJ’s internal thoughts very much so great video! Please talk about how INTJ cope with difficulties of the task? As an INTP I often have several goals and abandon it when things get hard to achieve.

Lisa Aldera yes, but we do it in a different way, having an INTJ very close to me. They filter the information on which ones are actionable or not. Then they think that everyone does the same thing with the information... So when someone asks them something, they are very skeptical before pass them any information and then they ask "why do you need this?" It is always so hard for me to explain that I need them my trivia collection and inner structure lol.... And then of course they don't pass it, since they see that it's not that necessary for me to know this or that..... pff we on the other hand question because we explore things concepts options and because by shifting the pov we discover new theories or understand something better etc etc

I always test and so much relate to being an intj but even before knowing any of this I always use to say that I maintain a knowledge/information structure in my mind, and that things should link up to one another. I’m soooo confused. I almost always test as intj

i really liked this video, thanks for making it. it cleared up most of the questions i had in my head about these two types. i liked how you expressed the functions. could you explain the one thing you said about the tertiary function, on how we use it even less than the repressed function? i'd really appreciate it
