Behringer have gone from the most belittled audio hardware company to the most beloved one in the space of a few years and it looks like there not going to let go of there new title. So glad as there doing great things for the audio community.
Not quite sure I'd use the word "beloved". But they are making progress. Hopefully a bunch of the synths they've previewed/promised (Jupiter-8, Prophet, OB-E/SEM) will see the light of day. MANY people are waiting in frustration. - If it's just the chip-chain slowing things up (and not a marketing ploy) we'll all be through the roof.
My first synth was a Gnat, my second a Wasp and my third a Wasp Deluxe. Last year I built myself a Jasper. Therefore I’m qualified to say Behringer have absolutely nailed it. Well done to the team!
I say flood the market with 50+ synths and soothe my anxiety of having to scramble to collect them. Give me time to choose many options. It’s a good service your doing Behringer! I now got many adorable options. Now bring them Polly’s. Samplers too!
Dear Mr. Behringer, I have now completely disassembled my Model D. I even welded of the IC's and looked under them. I cannot find that "Warp" Button your team has been talking about (in an earlier Video) to transform my Model D into this beautiful WASP. So either my Model D unit is defective - or there is place I haven't looked. I have also opened a support ticket to this regard. Sincerely. (and BTW thanks a LOT for all these great devices - and funny employees) !!! :).
I had an original Wasp, bought it for 20 quid it was a mental piece of kit , lent it out , never saw it again , it was coarse aggressive , piercing bonkers sound machine , and I regret ever letting out of my sight , but thanks to the Behringer Boys, I can relive the moments my neighbours thought Dr Who had moved in next door ! Hail Behringer !! All Hail the Behringer Wasp !!!

I owned a wasp in the very early 80s.. actually 1981. After that I was the privileged owner of one of the 80 EDP wasp deluxe synths . I know these units inside and out. it will be interesting to see if the osc and filter are more stable than the original. if they are and the unit isnt over $300 , ill buy one

@devontodetroit Not one for €300. Important for me, is to be able to sculpt the kick as you could on the original, to make it almost sound like a zap or laser. Most machines left out that ability.
I’ve always kind of wanted the Wasp so this is awesome. Have to choose between this and the Crave. Right now the Crave is winning because I have a couple semi-modulars I want to pair it with and all of my gear has CV. The Wasp is just such a unique little synth.
I probably sound horribly spoiled but all they are producing is inexpensive monosynths which is great, and this wasp is gnarled and delicious sounding but they are releasing so many I can’t distinguish which is what. I get that this price point makes them the most money I assume. But what so many want are poly synths not more mono that have no presets and I have to take a photo to remember the patch :)
Thanks for the demo. That thing is amazing. The Wasp Deluxe has its own little niche in the synth world, doesn't it? Thanks for bringing it into the 21st Century.
One design flaw I see in all behringer synths is the midi connectors on top rather than on the back. Do you think it's cute to have a midi cable always on the top of the synth rather than hidden in the rear?

wait, what...?! where did this come from??!! I had a wasp..it was the most raucous sounding, badly made synth ever! It has a pressed plastic case and weird keys, but it sounded aswesome
They should make a sampler with multiple AD/DA converters (8, 10, 12bit and 16) - replicating the circuitry of the best converters of the 80s/90s ... something pad-based .. like the Roland 404 - with built in sequencing, loop tracks, effects, etc.
@@AdamsBrew78 It would be cool, but I kinda like the almost 1:1 clone thingy. Plus the layout of the SP is fascinating, with those sliders and all that bulkiness!
@@DarkSideofSynth dont you think this one should be slighty cheaper than pro one neutron etc, it is no competition in the modulation possibilities and the wasp really was the bargain basement end of synths that time
they sound way different and it takes time to study original circuitry as opposed to making up their own synth. Way cheaper than the original! though I was never a fan anyways haha

$300.00 at Sweetwater. I better get donating blood, it's gonna take a couple quarts to pay for this one. Damn, Behringer is making some fun synths. I love that they are taking useful rare vintage synths and making them available to the average musician for prices that most can afford. I can't really find much negative to say, this is a good synth for the money.
All the brands that released the originals said it would be too expensive and they don't have the resources to re-release their analog synths. Que a company that doesn't even have blueprints of the originals and releases nearly every classic synth the public is asking for. Kudos Behringer.
Bought/Buying them all, no choice, used to work for Klark Teknik/Midas who designed/cloned these, they always wanted to work on synths.. keep up the great work people 😁🤔😁
Oscillators sound right, not sure about the filter but maybe that's just the demo (haven't spent much time playing a Wasp with resonance all the way up). Should be a fun synth regardless of how exact the match. Combining the repeat functions on both envelopes with LFO modulation can create crazy rhythmic interactions. Anyone know if Thomann will ship first like with the others? Right now only Sweetwater seems to have it for preorder.
I hate insects, however, this is one Wasp that I cannot wait to get stung by! Behringer is killing it lately! I'm going to have to take on another job just to keep up with all of these awesome new analog clones they're releasing.
