www.helicopterflight.ch In this film we will show you the essential aspects of a helicopter and how it flies. It is important for you to understand this before your first flying lesson.
Before you sit down in the pilot's seat, I will point out to you the things you need to focus on prior to and during the flight.

The first thing the government will do in the zombie apoc is close down air and sea ports. You'll see that shortly if Coronavirus isn't handled. Then they'll close down Interstate Highway transit. Then they'll close down cities. I don't know what country you're in but in the US... we're weeks away from that.

As one who washed out at seven months in the Warrant Officer Candidate course at Ft. Rucker, Alabama, this is one of the best videos. I had just turned 23 in early '65 and I left army active duty just as LBJ et al ordered our forces to 'Nam. I was in flight ops at two W. German bases for 30 mos.

The R22 Beta is a fine, agile little bird. - I'll _never_ forget the sensation when I for the very first time on my 1st flight moved the cyclic to port - executing a nice left bank at 1000', _seeing_ the rotordisc and the whole bird 'lean' rather sharply over to the left - and with a panoramic view of the terrain below! - It definitely _has_ to be experienced, *_Nothing_* compares! 🚁⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Well, first you get your private pilot certificate. Figure $25-$50K. Then you build up hours till you can get your commercial certificate. Figure another $25-$50K. Then you work up to your Certificated Flight Instructor certificate AND build up hours before you can teach. Figure another $25K. Then you teach students but you get to count the hours they're paying for as your hours, although you have to be on your toes so you don't die, and there's a lot of repetition there. One day you'll have 1000 hours, and maybe someone will let you go fly a turbine heli (Las Vegas is a popular spot for this) until you have 1500-2500 hours. Then you can do more complex things (Grand Canyon). Once you have lots of hours you might be able to get hired on the Gulf ferrying crews to oil rigs. Which part of this was your "dream career"? Was it repetitive instruction for newbies who want to kill you, being a taxi driver with a fixed route for tourists in Vegas or the Grand Canyon, or flying twin-pilot twin-engine ships to oil derricks? it's so if you get hit by wind or the heli makes a sudden movement, you don't get jolted around and accidentally move the cyclic way too far. and if you're flying doors off then it's obvious why you would need to wear it

Doesn't the Hiller rotor-head do something odd like that to prevent gyroscopic precession? I mean, my trex has one, but be darned if I can figure out EXACTLY how it works. The Robinson doesn't have one of these, though. And even on the Hiller, the swashplate still drops forward to move forward, I believe. Great, now I want to go pull that thing out of it's box and look.

Like any kid growing up having a mechanical bent, I believe I have more than adequate understanding of how a helicopter works, and that I could even fly one with very minimal instruction. All I really need to ask the instructor is this: What is the minimum safe blade rpm.
@Pork-Chopper
@Pork-Chopper Год назад
Mechanical bent or not, minimal instruction my ass!! It's one thing to understand the mechanical functions of the controls n how they interact with the air n wind, etc, etc, to fly. My degrees are in Engineering, and I thought the same as you, looks simple enough until you actually get in one n try to learn to do a rock steady hover. I've logged a dozen hours learning to fly a helicopter, an R22, and I'm still learning to hover, hover taxi, pickups n set downs. It's a "whole new" learning curve. It takes most student pilots between 10 to 20 hours to get the hang of it, where you feel confident enough to handle it. It's very easy to over control n get into a bad situation, especially in crowded airports or between buildings, trees, etc, you'll tear your ass up in short order. Like learning to play a guitar, it is a learned skill...

my RC birds have a 6 axis BeastX FBL Flybarless System that keeps the bird stationary or in head lock mode. Bail out is included for a few extra bucks when you get into a control problem you hit a switch and the bird levels out at a set elevation. Even has a home button when you press the home button the bird by it self fly's back to its starting point and lands automatically. So flying is super easy and main torque is always compensated for by tail pitch. All you would have to do is point and go only controlling the elevation and forward speed. BeastX is only $250 and could easily be adapted to this size of heli. Is there a 6 axis FBL controller on this heli?
