Steps to downgrade:-
1. Download 3utools: www.3u.com/
2. Download iOS 6.1.3 iPSW file: www.3u.com/tutorial/articles/...
3. Jailbreak using 3Utools
4. Add source in cydia: repo.tihmstar.net
4. Flash using 3Utools.
5. Done

This is STILL working guys. I just downgraded another iPhone 4S... on a virtual machine running Windows 7! You just have to make sure that when doing the jailbreak, get the latest version of 3UTools, and when flashing, use the 2.56 version of 3UTools. That's how it works for me.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EXISTING! YOU ARE A BLESSING TO THIS WORLD! After trying over 50 tutorials with none of them working, having to scarily disconnect the cable while downgrading (i'm glad i didn't brick my iPhone 4s) I stumbled upon this video, it seemed dodgy, but i tried it anyway and IT WORKED! I love the skeumorphism on iOS 6. Thank you so much for this tutorial!

Thank you! Flash finished in 5 minutes with a Windows 7 Sony VAIO VPCEJ (intel i5-2430m and 8GB of ram), and 2 iPhone 4s (16GB) (one of sprint, the other, AT&T).

Not really, you can install some old apps but the new one iOS 9 is required

11/20/21 Still working for Ipad3 9.6.3 Watch the full video. Do not get discouraged if you dont get the cydia app on first try. It took me a couple but this does work. Kudos man!

A technique I used for anyone experiencing a problem with their iDevice disconnecting, (Possibly due to using a third-party cable) Whenever you hear your PC disconnect your iDevice reconnect it and it should continue the flash process. It may disconnect a couple times at first but keep repeating the process until you no longer hear the notifications on your PC and it should properly install iOS 6 from there

Great Tutorial, worked for me as of 12th July 2022. I had to use 3u tools version 2.56 tho, as it wouldn't downgrade the phone with the newest software.

WORKING AS OF 22-09-2021 But, disable antivirus, use 2.56 version of 3utools and use IE to download the IPSW, if it saves as a zip change the extention and you should be good to go!

at 5:26 I've tried this literally about 500 times, but every time I toggle the Download iBSS switch the app crashes. I've tried having it plugged into a PC, mac, not plugged in at all, reinstall of the app, full restore and jailbreak again, I just can't get it to work.

6.0, 6.0.1, 6.1 and 6.1.3 works as of 21-9-2022 as experimented, but no iOS 5 however once in iOS 6 you can upgrade To iOS 8.1.2 if you like.

For everyone wondering, yes, this is untethered. The latest version as of right now (v3.08) didn’t work for me, so if the latest version doesn’t work for you, you can try version 2.56. Hopefully, this helps.

This will only work for iPhones that were manufactured before 2014. Since you can only downgrade to the oldest version the phone came with, any iPhone 4s produced after September 2013 cannot be sadly. It is a common issue since the 4s was in production until as late as 2016.

The final process always fails, does it matter if the cable is not the original by apple? It is like new, but not the original one. When I push the blu button “flash”, it starts, but after a few seconds, I always ear the sound of the USB disconnected and then riconnected, then the download stops. I dunno what to do now, pls help me dude!

Hi iGadgetBox. I have tried to down-grade my iPhone 4s, but I received a weird error called: 'Unknown iPhone cable manufacture' or something like that. So it gave me flashing failed at the end. I have did all of the steps in the iPhone 4s all over again for the 2nd time, but still flash failed. And I also made sure I downloaded the right iPSW file that is compatible with my iPhone 4s.
