If you watched the fight between Ip Man and the 3 masters, the fat master was the only one equal to Ip Man in skill and they later developed a friendship. As a defense to Chinese Boxing, whom twister ridiculed, the fat master fought twister and did pretty well until his asthma kicked in and, out of breath and energy, he endured punches until his death. This twister fight was Ip Man's revenge against twister for his dead Friend and a final defense for his culture and his art, proving it not useless in battle and as good as regular boxing in its own right.
the problem is, it depends on the user using it and it takes mastering it to make it even useful in real life experiences, while boxing doesn't take nearly as long to be able to use it proficiently in real life experiences.

chinese martial arts, its a good form of attack or/and defense against all forms of combat and as you can see ip man fucks up twisters joints, resulting in weaker attacks and probably slower attack times, he then just grabs him and just fucks him up, in real life a boxer would be no match for a martial artist especially at this rank, if you a real life match were to happen on the street and a martial artist had a fight with a boxer, the martial artist would just win, its not because of chinese superiority, its the fact of how good martial arts is and how its so incredible.
hmm to be honest i think that a regular boxer wouldn't really stand a big chance against the majority of other martial arts (if the opponent is allowed to use his legs aswell)

Watch all 3 of the movies. They are all subtitled but are very good movies. Not sure if people told you yet but Ip man was the guy who trained Bruce Lee.
In my youth in Japan, I was studying Judo. I had similar experience where I was match with someone from America. We live in Misawa in Japan where American Air Force is located. Having Americans around our town was pretty common. One thing I didn't expect was my opponent's strength. It's something I didn't have to deal with my peers. I had similar reactions and flash back watching this scene of the movie haha.
The actor that played Twister in the movie , Darren Shahlavi died a few years ago . Donnie Yen and He became very good friends during the movie. Shahlavi's last movie was the newly rebooted Kickboxer

You should watch Ip Man vs Mike Tyson. They gave Mike Tyson the credits he deserved. If possible, check out Mike Tyson's behind the scenes of Ip Man 3. There is a small 2 second section where he almost knocks Donnie Yen out by accident when they were filming; the speed and power Mike has despite his age is absolutely incredible.
the best thing about ip man is, he exists and his stories are somewhat real, while rocky balboa is a made up but still, both are great movies. watched all of rocky's movie to creed
Twister is from Great Britian. Also, Ip Man's punches are very fast because his fighting style is Wing Chun. Wing Chun is a martial arts style based on quick senses and hits, perfect for close combat and self defense. Wing Chun takes 4 to 5 years to master. But the advantage is that mastering Wing Chun helps you train other fighting styles.
The guy he was thinking of died when he was fighting twister and he remembered what he did for their culture and their martial arts (btw why I didnt put a cap for twister is because he doesn’t even deserve a cap lol)
You should watch the full movie. You will get why he doesn’t laugh or talk. So many of his love ones die. All he want is peace. He don’t want war or fight but they push him to. And I like the name like infinite punch man lol

Fun fact. Unlike most fight scenes that we see in the Ip Man series, this fight was 1000%fake as Twister is a fictional character made up by the writers. Ip man did actually fight and defeat a few western boxers, but not to the extent of the twister character. The reason why they did this was because they aimed to document his confirmed career in 4 movies; but nothing note worthy occured between the end of the Japanese occupation and 1967. Also, donnie yen is one of the only remaining significant hong cong/chinese actors who actually knows traditional martial arts, having studied under Ip Man's son Ip Chung (who we see taking a morw important role starting in ip man 3 and 4).
Proper way to pronounce his name in cantonese is Yeep Mun and he used the dead masters moves to defest twister to show that his style was just as good as wing chun to beat boxing

Pretty much the entire story: This Twister guy is an English boxer who came from England and went to Hong Kong to pretty much prove his dominance. He disrespected Chinese martial arts and the grand master of Hong Kong tried to stop him but got killed by him. Ip Man respected the grand master a lot. Twister later held a uh.. A little meet saying if anyone in China is brave enough to face him, go for it. Ip Man approaches him and says I'll fight you, and that's how this happened. There's so much you gotta catch up on my man, it's "Yip Mun", not " Eye pee man" Lol, his style is Wing Chun, and Twister was doing real well against Ip Man because Boxing is extremely effective against Wing Chun
