thats a good switch since your macbook is severely outdated. but you'll miss MacOs though. for me, i cant use ipad os to do every day things like uploading pics from a sony camera to my amazon cloud. could be done, but so cumbersome and so slow

Lilacfoofness True, 12.9 + Apple keyboard folio + Mouse/track pad is more expensive than the Air 2020 - I love the experience though and I never want to go back again. The versatility is just that great.. no loading times, boot up times, Face ID, Apple Pencil to dabble into the arts as a hobby! Best device I’ve bought in years

I started my RU-vid channel with my iPad Pro 2018, I film everything with the ipad, use its mics, then edit the footage with lumafusion and make the thumbnails on the iPad. its not perfect, I want to get a camera, but until I can afford all the other gear, the iPad allows me to actually create things, and I love it. I honestly think its one of the best tools than a creator trying to get a start could have.

Are you kidding about paper like? You could even see the air bubbles in your example. I tried it, but greatly reduces the clarity and resolution! The feel is good, but makes reading harder and graphics a bit blurry.

Johnny Xaysanapannha well i prefer 2020, and as an artist, try getting the biggest model, you may have to pay around £1,200~ but what i know for a fact is that if you draw things that you take pictures of, thos would be the choice as the cameras would be good. If you want to be cheaper, get the biggest model but around 128gb. 512 or 1tb would be noce but i think it would be £1,499 or £1,500. But tbh, for a magic keyboard and 1tb biggest model of ipad pro, it would be £1,800 it total. Your choice bro!

i got a 2018 when these were announced for a deep discount and by all measures, unless you use AR or take a lot of photos with your ipad, its not worth it. performance is similar. i got the 2018..then returned for mini 5 since i'm not a "pro"

I don’t own a 2018 iPad Pro. I notice that for memory/price ratio the 2020 iPad Pro is the way to go if you don’t own a 2018 one! Don’t bother saving the $100 getting 2018 version the price difference isn’t worth getting the 2018 over the 2020

The small internal storage makes it not even worth investing in. Minimum should've been either the 256 GB or the top 512 GB standard. And give us the option for adding additional storage on all ipad for an even more storage.

i had a mini 4 for the longest time and considered upgrading to ipad pro 11 inch and pulled the trigger when this was announced. got the 2018 version for a hefty 250 off, and got it shipped and used it for about a day and then, i said to myself, i dont really need this. im not an artist, not a pro that does video editing or photographer, all i do is sit on my ass watching videos. so, even the 11 inch is cumbersome to hold, heavy and entirely too powerful for my use case. decided to return and get myself mini 5. the power difference is leaps and bounds over the mini 4 and i love the same form factor and usability. netflix/hbo now ftw!

Get the 2018 model for cheaper trust me. If anything use that extra cash toward the ridiculously priced magic keyboard if you already plan on getting it. The hardware updates are for the most part not valuable additions imo. The processor isn’t even significantly better and the 2018 already is amazing

I have a 2017 pro. I’m in year 9. Don’t know if I should stay with this one and my Apple Pencil gen 1 and get a pro Mac book Or change to the 2020 pro I pad. I love my iPad use it some much, and having GoodNotes is a game changer you can’t get from a laptop, but I also feel in the need of a laptop at times.

Also, the display refresh rate has been increased from 60 to 120 Hz Other reviews have remarked that it makes a noticeable difference.

Question: could you put the paper like cover over a screen protector. That way you could get the added screen protection benefit and get the feeling of the paper cover? Or is it a one or the other kind of deal?

Are the Apple iPad products at risk of explosion/ fire hazard due to poor quality batteries used? I visited the Apple store at the Eaton Centre surrounded by uniformed officers! I was unable to stay long as the iPad Mini was so hot I was concerned about explosion! Everything is charged wirelessly ! No well insulative cables, etc! Is the Eaton Centre a fire hazard? Are they able to provide fire resistant suits to borrow in addition to the mask?

Personal opinion : So, is the ipad pro a good buy ? Yes, its a good investment. Is the 2020 a must buy for some with the 2018, 2019 versions ? Definetly not.

This is why the magic keyboard is so expensive. The 2020 ipad pro is for those who don't have an ipad yet, and the magic keyboard is for those who have the previous version, that's why they made it compatible with the previous gen and made it so expensive. Hitting two birds with one stone.

First iPad I haven't returned, and worth the value. Originally got the iPad Mini 3, but the use vs cost wasn't there. Tried again with the iPad Pro 11 2018, but also returned for the Note9 (still love it) but I wanted the bigger 12.9 for work (Power BI, Excell, etc) and personal for video editing and a compliment to the PC with Ryzen 5 3600X and 1070 Ti, but also to go with the Apple Watch S5 and my iPhone X, which will probably get updated to the next Max iPhone (what happened to the 'plus' Apple? My iPhone 6S Plus sounded just fine lol)

I have a question: 1.) Can you conduct Live-Web (ZOOM) meetings with the reviewed iPad horizontally ...WHILE it is being charged...and the camera adjust to the horizontal position? Let me explain. I have an older iPad Air 2. I attend class, due to COVID, via ZOOM. My two courses are two hours long, each. Therefore, I must keep the unit plugged in and charging during the duration of both classes. Sadly, however, I cannot use the USB stand (charger) I have purchased because I have to rest my iPad horizontally on the charger. Yet, the iPad’s camera does not adjust to a horizontal view (if it does, please instruct me). So, I look like I am looking off into the distance while I attend class; this is NOT good.

Great Review . The new iPad are nice . I’m more of a designer than artist, I've used a few XP-Pen drawing tablets, including Artist monitors . I've been looking for portable device that works well for sketching and illustration as well as media consumption and fun. iPad Pro combined with the pencil looks quite promising so far.

Wouldn't recommend. Even with the new mouse update the excel has some kind of lag, as it's intended for a touchscreen. They are probably gonna update that, but till they do I wouldn't risk getting an iPad, if excel is that important

I would rather like the improved microphones for when I video a concert, but that will not be more than a handful of times a years, so difficult to justify the cost of a new iPad Pro. For my day to day use the 2020 provides nothing over my much love 2018 12.9” 1TB which I use as my main computer daily. But I will definitely get the new Smart Keyboard - have long wanted backlit keys.

Good review. Interesting that others have had high failures on the Apple keyboard/case. Mine was replaced twice and now another failure not under warranty. I hope the new keyboard at its new astronomical price will fair better.

Please help me out. Can't make a decision! MacBook pro 16 inch ore Ipad pro. I only use it for: Watching movies and pair it whit it on the tv screen ore monitor (for movies/work), Microsoft: office word outlook excel PowerPoint, watching youtube, listen to music and making notes..... Really like a big screen for movies... And sometimes I work with: Microsoft Excel/Word and Safari open, is that doable whit an iPad? Ore put it on a tv ore monitor for a bigger screen. I can buy the: Ipad pro-1229 whit keyboard 350 dollars and apple pencil 125 will cost = 1714 whit discount 1640 euro. And I can the mac pro 16 inches whit discount for 2100 euro.

I think the iPad would be better because you can do things like draw diagrams and whatnot, and also run some of the same apps as a MacBook. It probably will be as effective (if not, more) as a MacBook. But I think you should do some research on it, and then truly decide. I hope this helped

In the next 30 years, you wont be able to position your cursor anywhere inside a WORD except by way of a "long press" on the screen. The silliest thing. That defines Apple's capability.

Apple is great at marketing buy the 2017 pro's and the new ones play with them side by side there is 0 difference in display and performance just a design difference obviously that's about it Don't get fooled it has the same 600 nits of brightness , let be real how many of you take your ipad's out of the home and take pictures? 1 in 10,000? compared with the iphones @ 1 in 3

I’ve been wanting to buy one of my friends a coffin for his 67th birthday. I do want it to be a surprise though so measuring him has been the most difficult thing. Thanks to the LIDAR scanner on the new iPad Pro I can now measure people for coffins without spoiling the surprise. Well worth the money.
