I was in Tehran a few months ago and as hospitable, polite and welcoming as the people in this video seem, it is nothing compared to the real experience of being there. Absolutely amazing, astonishing and maybe even life altering place to visit. Much thanks and appreciation to the lovely Iranians I met. From Australia :)
Just When you get sent to Evin prison for being a western spy, don’t cry to your ppl to get you out - ps I didn’t just visit there , I lived there half my life
One of the best cultures I have come across. They are very polite, educated, respectful, peace loving majority I have met. They have delicious food and beautiful women. They love their guest and they are not what we think they are.My next trip is Iran so I can meet them in person.Love from New York!
My new family and beautiful fiance.... are Persian. The food is amazing and the sense of family is powerful and I am an adopted Iranian, and proud of that....
Anthony Bourdain was more of a diplomat than we even realized. The State Department would do well to learn, rather than resort to unnecessary escalation. Thank you, Tony!
its funny you say that...im persian and my mom is in engineer and has a lot of indian friends/coworkers (naturally haha) and she was talking to her white coworker/friend one time who was telling her how he had just tried persian food for the first time, and how he was kinda disappointed...he thought it was bland...she asked him if he expected it to taste like indian food and he said yes haha (our food is very bland compared to indian food lol you guys put so many spices in your food!!)
I'm proud to be of Iranian heritage. I just hope I can visit Iran again soon, all my family and friends I've left behind. Not to mention my grandmothers fesenjoon!!!
They were a super power for thousands of years. That pride, sophistication, and refinement in behavior can be seen in this video. Would love to visit Iran someday. Did you guys notice the persian carpet in the kitchen? lol....
The Persian carpet caught my eye as well. I used to work with a bunch of Iranian exchange students in the US around thirty years ago when the shah was overthrown. They were the classiest, funniest and most hard-working individuals I'd ever met in my 20 years of life.
not politics, just people with bad intentions. so lets hope for more people with good intentions be in the political system. for the sake of humanity and the planet
Dear CNN, I beg that you release all seasons of Parts Unknown for free in full on RU-vid. It will those few of us blessed with this man's talent in opening up our eyes to a wider world of culture, tradition, and in turn shrinking it in turn by showing and sharing the common experiences across the globe, and our common and united interest and love we have in sharing our food and drink. This would be an apt tribute to Tony, and a gift upon the wider community and citizens of this planet who have not yet been blessed by the education and perspective this man has given us lucky few who have watched this amazing series. RIP Tony, may you seek the light you were searching for, while we keep in memory the flame of your presence.
You are missed Anthony. I appreciate this, my Father was Iranian but I never got to meet him or my relatives on that side to experience the food, traditions & hospitality. He passed away and I hope someway to meet my family.
want to see the full video of this.. america and iran have peace on the dining table. if only our lives could be more simple than this, if only we want to :(
That stew 0:50 named fesenjan is an ancient iranian stew from time of sassanids , its name in sassanid era was spandegan because mostly was served in persian month of spand (end of winter),
ahh yes and my aunt makes the best fesenjoon....it's a very unique taste that can't really be compared to any other food. I was born in Iran and live in the west.
Such a beautiful soul left us so early. Im heartbroken and angry. I dreamed to be your host one day in Iran and take you to places that you couldnt go first time. Miss you so much 💔 You touched my soul forever
Anthony Bourdain , a great person with enormous talent. He united the world with his unique perspective of the exotic foods and culture of the different parts of the world . I missed your TV programs , R.I.P.
This reminds me of my grandma. (She is iranian.) I never got to meet her but she looks so much alike, and I was told her food was absolutely delicious.
I'm Persian and the lady at the end was right my grandma always makes like 10 different dishes when ever we come over. However my mom she will just make an appetizer, a salad, main course and then she bring out fruit or halva for dessert.
LOL. True! But you better do some exercises to get all unhealthy elements out than having that delicious meal and going to bed after then picture your generous host as a killer! :)
Anthony bourdain doesnt have blue eyes and could easily pass for an Iranian. Its just that westerners are the main foriegners going to Iran nowadays. Ive seen Japanese people being treaed the same way in Iran.
Iranian culture and values teach to love everybody, no matter what they look like, where they are from, what colour is their skin and what religion they belong to. It's been embedded in us from birth to think and act like this.
When i was watching his program i was always thinking he should go to Iran he misses so much of good stuff, i am glad he did, RIP Anthony .my husband is Indian and he is speechless everytime he visit Iran, he always says to his friends dont ever compare their hospitality with anyone in the world, yeppp thats how we are ♥
We are all made from the same loving God ....call him what you wish, integrity is knowing him and others...to bad the human race could not be more loving and Holy in a spiritual light? Iran Canada loves and prays for you......the only thing after death is Gods pure love. world peace ......
Corrupt politicians and governments skews our perception. People are people and deep down humanity lives in each other’s happiness not sorrow. If more people travel and experience other cultures they would see that and not judge based off of other people’s opinions. Rest in peace Mr. Bourdain, thank you the memories
It is sad to see how a few knuckleheads from all walks of life turn humans against one another and start unnecessary conflicts where many young men and women perish. Anthony proved to the world that when we focus on the things we love and have in common, we are all the same, and we can easily get along.
Tony’s production company has to independently compose music for each scene and episode - based on their preconceptions of musical style. Probably don’t get it accurate every time.
I dropped some sauce on my Persian friend's living room carpet while chilling at his house once. He didn't trust me with cleaning it and his mother was coming back home in a few days, so I lent him my toothbrush to scrub the stain with.
The biggest danger as an American guest in a Persian home is that they’ll have to roll you out the door when dinner is finally finished. 🤣 I work with a lot of people from Afghanistan and Iran, it’s a daily struggle. 😅
