The nations league is pointless I’m Irish too and I want Ireland to get relegated so it is easier to get into euros and the World Cup through the nations league
@@unrealitygame6886 yeah but it shouldn’t be easier to get into major competitions through relegation. It’s like a championship team being able to get into the champions league
"Learning his trade in our youth teams." - Cos Grealish definitely learned his trade in 19 youth games and a few camps for Ireland, not his years in Aston Villa's academy.
Gaelic is having a great championship right now as well with the cork Kerry game and an entertaining conought and ulster. Looking like a mayo Dublin final as well. Wich could cause a third lockdown depending on the results.
"Learning his trade in our youth team" might be somewhat overstating the impact of the few days a year Grealish spent in Dublin at Irish training camps in his mid-teens. Considering these are the same youth teams have failed to teach Irish born lads how to trap a ball or pass accurately I'm going to out on a limb and say most of the good coaching Grealish received was probably at Villa.
Yeah especially considering Villa has a pretty damn good youth program with the likes of Louis Barry, Carney Chukwumeka, Jayden Philonge-Bidace, and Onódi
FIFA should do something to prevent nationality changes from happening, otherwise we have people like Jack Grealish and Declan Rice taking an entire nation for granted.
Ireland deserve it; they poach players of Northern Ireland all the time and have for decades so it’s refreshing seeing them getting a taste of their owe medicine. Also a handful of their teams English.
“We had never been beaten by England at football in my entire lifetime”. Probably because Ireland are too bad to play England regularly. That’s pretty evident by the fact that the only reason Ireland played them is because of a friendly
You're pretty much describing the joys of having been a lifelong Villa fan, especially in the last decade. Let us have this joy where one of our own in Jack is doing some good in the footballing world
Irish fans: "Jack Grealish is a traitor. I'm so disappointed with him." Also Irish fans: "Jack Charlton, Tony Cascarino, Jason McAteer, Paul McGrath, Andy Townsend, Mick McCarthy and Ray Houghton are true Irish legends." The rules cut both ways guys.
Y moving nationalities from Ireland to England so easy When I see the likes of munir he finds it difficult to move from Spanish to morrocan national team
Munir played in a UEFA Euro qualifier for Spain. Grealish never played for the Irish senior team. Actions should have consequences. Munir shouldn't be allowed to play for Morocco just because he realized he'll probably never play for Spain again. Grealish should've been suspended for the first tournament after his first senior appearance (which would be the upcoming Euros) for switching from Ireland's youth team to England. Declan Rice also shouldn't have been allowed to switch. Also, that awful rule that says a player can represent the country of their grandparents needs to go.
Before if you play a competitive game for the senior side then it rules you out from playing for another nation. Grealish hadn’t represented the senior Irish team where as Munir played a competitive match for the seniors.
Jack Grealish was born in England, lives in England, and was coached and developed by Aston Villa. Ireland seems to rely on players coached in England. Maybe it needs to start developing its own players?
Do you know the really sad and brutal part? Jack by matrilineage through his grandmother's line is an O'Sullivan, the most powerful and eldest Irish clan descended directly from one of the great noble & kingly families of pre-Medieval Eire. Meaning that by birthright, Jack is practically an Irish Prince, or at least a scion of a line of them. Yet he chooses gladly to wear the Lionheart crest and sing 'God Save the (Saes) King', because his Dad and his grandad are English peasants, and he had a happy Brummie childhood. It's like a tragic play.
In this and other worlds,I am a 53rd liker of this video but I am extremely so sorry for your national team's decline after your latest 3-0 defeat to England, good friend Irish guy!!!:-D:(
excuse me, 22 years since we last qualified. We have suffered 10 qualifying tournament failures, yes we lost 3-0 "in the back arse" to f*ckin kazakhstan, and the other 4 losses? Home and away to belgium and russia. When we played russia at home, their winner was a og.
@@MedwY mcgeady came out with nonsense about not getting picked and McCarthy said his grandad asked him to play for Ireland and not Scotland. However fail to see the point of youth level as I definitely never mentioned it ?
@@MedwY correct me if I'm wrong. Or do we need to further into it go back to the 90s also bring in religion into the discussion as Ireland have used it to get many a player over the years
Ireland vs Northern Ireland would have been the match of the year. It would have been the most entertaining match especially for a Guy from Ireland or Northern Ireland
This while nations league at this moment is ridiculous, my national team, norway, is in quarantine, and we need to come up with a backup team, and no one is caring about covid-19. Ridiculous
