@@idontknow164 I didn't get Rock in Rio when it came out, but I still remember the first time I heard this live performance on Edward The Great, it was so incredible it was almost like I was hearing Fear for the very first time all over again.
Agreed. I like the studio version, but it's really nothing special to me. It's a _good_ song. Both Iron Maiden and the audience transformed Fear of the Dark with this performance and made it a *_great_* song.
Abração parceiro Up the Irons!
A reminder that the band that gave you this performance was deemed unworthy of the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame. No, Iron Maiden doesn't need that rotten institution but Gen-X needed to hear their name called.
Wow. I just assumed they were already in. The only thing i can think of is they never crossed over ie metallica into the mainstream and they didnt have an album like the black album thats sold 30 million copies.
What a joke Iron Maiden & Judas Priest are not in. Look how long it took Deep Purple, Kiss, Moody Blues and Yes to get in! And those bands had been around far longer ! What a joke the RRHOF is !
Edward the Great, Greatest Hits was my first Iron Maiden album and this was the version of Fear of the Dark that was on it. This, to me, is the definitive version of the song and no other will do!
The power of the performance, the delivery of the amplification. The appreciation of the audience via sing-along....... FEAR OF THE DARK!! FEAR OF THE DARK!!!! FEAR OF THE DARK....... THAT'S ROCKANDROLL!!!!!
I found maiden when I was 14 years old and they’ve stuck with me since. It feels good to be a part of such a dedicated community of fans all over the world. UP THE IRONS!!!!
I've watched this so many times, but I have really come to appreciate that evil laugh during the intro. It affected someone so much they screamed. A true artist at work.
probably the greatest crowd performance ever. iron maiden is always awesome but this crowd just made it fucking amazing, no matter how often i listen to it on cd or watch the dvd or juist here (sending to my friends hwo never saw it), it just sends fucking shivers down my spine.
