Isn't it nice to know that just shimming your valves and giving them that extra little bit of seat pressure helps with high RPM valve train stability & increased mph
Valuable information as always. Thank you. You might also enjoy getting and building 2 and 4 stroke bicycle kits. The 2 strokes are generally 66 cc. The 4s are 49 cc. Buy cheap bicycles at Walmart. Kent beach cruiser and blue Kent bike. Are great platforms. I’ve built 6 so far.
Thanks Black66, yet another great video. I love they way you show the step by step process and don't take a lot of time doing it! Can't wait to see what's next. 😘👋👋💯
If your removing the valves or anything in the head on a ghost 212 be extra careful removing the bolt that holds the rocker arm pins. Mine took out the threads removing it and when I put it back together I didn’t realize it was bad and on the first start up I had a pin slide out and drop the whole rocker arm. Pay extra attention there.
I have always heard them called , valve shim, or valve spring shim or hat. One of the three. In the automotive community I always heard "hat" more . Weird how things get their names over the years. Thanks for watching the videos! Check out the playlists.
@@Black66 Well, you're shimming the Valve Spring, not the Valve. Make sense? Valve Shims are like changing that Hat that goes on top of the Valve, ya know, the one that's just under the Rocker, on top of the Valve Stem? Not too confusing, I hope. lol
It's like preloading the shocks for a different ride...I like all the testing, but the 0 to 30, in my opinion does not give the motor time to react when the power band just kicks in about 30mph...?...If you test at 40mph just after the power kicks in, then I think the numbers would be different...Top Speed seems to give the final in performance gains...
Do you have a video on your fuel tank set up I have a mini bike I've been trying to figure out a clean way to mount a fuel cell like you have in the v of my frame. Also I'm interested where you purchased that tank I'd appreciate it.
same shit happened to me but on the side cover bolts... TWICE, ordered a helicoil kit. and since then i climb the torque always instead of putting the necessary ft lbs immediately
Black 66 I’m having problems with my mikuni, I have a grehua vm22 mikuni in a Coleman kt196cc go kart and I can’t seem to tune it right I have tried everything even watched the vid about air leaks and still it runs lean and only runs in choke I opened it up but everything seemed fine can i get any recommendations about what to do with it?
Hey brother I'm knew to the mini bike life. What gasket do i use for the valve cover gasket? On the ghost engine? Any Info would be greatly appreciated! 😊thanks
I have an RB200 with ghost, nibbi carb, and exhaust. I am topping out at 36 mph and it sounds like I am at the rev limiter at like 85% throttle. What would be the best options to get past this? My end goal is to be in the 45-50 mph top end speed with best accel possible
I would say do what I did in this video. It will get rid of the rev limiter and add some safety at the same time. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lm6zTvhJHSk.html
I understand how the shims work and all, but I cringe thinking about distance. How much distance are the springs at max rpm? After the mod how much distance is left? When I set my valve lash my springs are collapsed almost all the way. I just would love to know those two measurements.
Are the shims for the ghost different then the regular 212 head? Trying to figure out what shims I need to order and don’t see any for hemi heads specifically.
Yeah but it seems like the engine doesn’t like it, more like your pushing it more passed it capabilities, even if you do, do you think it could run to 9000rpms if it worthy or should you get a gearbox for it
Check out the playlist. There are many different bikes on the channel with different tires. On some bikes, I use the ultimate street tire, some have Carlisle slicks, etc. It really depends on the bike.
Not much on this engine yet.. I watch all ur vids.. good stuff.. If I remember correctly..u said they the stock springs might be 26 lbs .. I have coil and flywheel.. and max out at 6500 rpm guessing valve float.. but with a 26lbs springs... Why would they be any valve float... Most stage kits with cam only come with 22 lbs springs I love to get pass 8k ... With rod and cam of course.. just trying to learn these little guys
The Ghost has a heavy valve train. The push rods are longer than a stock Predator and the rocker's arms are heavy. The engine could use a good set of chrome moly pushrods and some lighter rockers. I think with these upgrades the 26 lb springs would control the valve train better.
Here is the video adding a billet flywheel and getting rid of the rev limiter. Check out the Ghost playlist for many videos with the Ghost ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lm6zTvhJHSk.html
