Where is Tony Parker?
@Colstonewall

If you're talking pure point guard, Chris Paul is the best hands down, Rose and Westbrook are more exciting, more explosive scoring wise, but we're talking POINT GUARD. . .so Paul is the best at running the offense and distributing the ball.

RONDO!! If you are talking about a real PG who makes offense ang gives passes, he is the one to do the job with the best way every time
@Spaced92

Of all the good PG's though, we know who's going to choke in Playoff's even though the only PG with a better team is Parker. I still don't even know how Chris Paul lost that 7 point lead with 40 seconds to go against the Thunder.

aikidoboynj pathetic bruh u tellin me a old ass man is better than ALL of these young athletic stars in the NBA cause of a championship he didnt take them they all did work not just him thats, like sayin mario chalmers took the HEAT to the championship all 4 years, if tony parker was on the bobcats he would not look good as he does now (not saying hes bad or sum like that) but he has one of the best coaches ever one of the best power fowards in history nd one of the best 6th man n history so just stop, dont dick suck him be realistic it.
@GerardoToscanini
@GerardoToscanini 10 лет назад
Elijah Canty those young guys still well are young. Tony can finish at the basket better than any point guard out there. Yes agree with all the points you made but to me a point guard is the reflection of the coach on the court and he does a really good job. Those young guys still have a lot of learning to do but today Parker is no. 1 and has been. Might not be flashy but definitely produces game after game.

Unlike most of these players, Rondo can actually score when he is being pressured. May not score much regular season but during playoffs when his team needs him, he can usually be pretty efficient.

Agreed. CP3 is head and shoulders above the rest of the players on the list. He has a complete game and can equal or outdo any other PG on the list at their best attribute any day of the week. Plus, you can't forget to mention the fact that his output is reduced by his gimpy knees at this point. One honorable mention not on this list is Tony Parker. Mr. Longoria has proven himself as a facilitator and has made a seamless transition to the team's offensive motor pretty much overnight. Props

You have to be able to lead and conduct a team. It's much more than passing and/or scoring. Recognition of both your offense and their defense making everyone on the floor dance to your song . I gotta give it to cp3. Not as big as the other boys but still able to push out better stats

@NicolasAlcalde
@NicolasAlcalde 10 лет назад
It's obviously Rondo. People forget what he could do when he had a team, but watching videos like this just shows how much better of a passer he is than all of these other guys. The difficulty of his passes he makes and the accuracy he has is completely unrivaled. And people always forget that he's good at defense and is a very good rebounder. He was destroying triple doubles when he had a good team. So, he's a much better play maker (point guard) and he can also drop 40 when he needs to. He has no competition. A lot of people argue that Chris Paul is the best, as if there is any possible way to not rack up tons of points and assists with Blake Griffin and Deandre Jordan on your team.

Yea I was talkin in regards to the PGs mentioned but it has been neck and neck between cp3 and Calderon when it comes to assist turnover ratio. If Calderon was a better defender and a more consistent scorer he could potentially be a top PG in the NBA but he's definitely one of the most underrated PGs in the NBA maybe a change of scenery might help him.

Tony Parker plays in a system, these guys do not (just Rose and Rondo do). Pop knows his playmaker's abilities and grows them up by putting him in a Pick n Roll system. I think Tony is the best PG in the game because he can score, he can pass, he can steal balls in a system that need reading abilities to penetrate in the paint, to shoot out of it or just to move the ball trying to find the best shooter on the 3-pt line or just Timmy under the basket

@Marcus Smith I hope that was a typo because dwill definitely did not average 13 assists per game, nobody did. rondo led the league in assists with about 11 when you round it. I'm gonna assume you made a typo

I totally agree with you. I never considered CP3 the best point guard in the league (I preferred Rondo and D-Will) in previous seasons but right now I have to admit he is undoubtedly the best. He's the main reason the Clippers are doing so great and he literally pulled them out of the gutter in the Western Conference.

Open Court Finishing of DRose(NoDoubt)/Westbrook 6. Post Up of MarkJackson 7. Pick & Roll/Pop of Stockton 8. Defense of Payton/Stockton 9. Rebound of Kidd 10. Combine All of This...You Got... I hate that almost everyone disregards Tony Parker as one of the great PGs in the game right now... just bc he doesnt showoff or draw attention to himself does not mean he doesnt deserve the praise. His stats arent as high bc he isnt focused on shooting every night. He is a playmaker and he makes every one in his team a better player. His leadership skills, his experience, his winning mindset and his THREE rings make him one of the best in the game. Plus, hes the best PG to finish in the paint.

The year coach Nick was talking about was the year cp3 was still recovering from knee surgery so of course he wasn't finishing @ the basket but before that and now he's finishing with no problem. Even tho I said cp3 has no flaws doesn't mean he doesn't make mistakes. And of course all these guards can improve on there weaknesses but right now cp3 doesn't have too many. Rondo has shown improvement with his shooting but 40% isn't really all that good considering he's wide open compared the others

Honestly, the best point guard is Steve Blake. I have no idea why he wasn't mentioned. As he was backing up Derek Fisher (another elite point guard), he produced 5.2 points, 3.3 assists in ONLY 23 minutes! He shot an outstanding percentage of 37% FG and 33% 3PT. Not to mention his superb 77% FT. Not to mention his superior physical presence. He's 6'3" and 191 LBS! He overpowers everybody. His athleticism is like Rose and Westbrook combined. He finds the open man, and hits them in rhythm! SB FTW

Deron himself said he's "a system player." He thrived off the offense implemented by Jerry Sloan in Utah where he was producing ridiculously every night. I don't think he's found himself in Brooklyn yet, even though he's shown flashes of his old self. He's in a huge shooting slump, which I hope he gets out of.
