The two towers on a long suspension bridge are precisely a certain distance apart at the bottom, they're precisely vertical, and measurements and the engineering drawings show them a few inches farther apart at the top. It's sad but amusing that there are people with human brains who can't see why. If they were bright enough to want to check this out, they could get one of those laser distance measuring things and check that the same applies to tall buildings. I'm guessing that most of them could understand that those things would be precisely the same separation top and bottom if they were on a flat surface.
