She's absolutely right. I had laser hair removal in my twenties, and it never came back. I still have hair growing but it's very thin and sparse, and of course as I got older it got less and less. I"m in my 50s and that laser hair removal was the best money Ive ever spent. It's totally worth it if you're dark haired and light skinned like I am. It literally changed my life. I have gone from feeling like a hairy freak and constantly battling with hair removal to feeling like a normal person with less than normal body hair. It became completely manageable and stayed that way. Now that I'm older, I rarely have to remove the hair on my legs. The girl complaining about regrowth may be right though, but that's because she seems to be very light skinned with also light colored thin hair, I dont think laser would work that great on her.

I have really sensitive skin and when the hair on my legs would come in, it was so incredibly itchy. I could barely tolerate it. I got tired of shaving everyday so I had hair removal done. I'm 60 now and I only have to shave about once a month to get rid of stray hairs. Best thing I ever did! I love it!

Same! I used to get terrible ingrown hairs in the bikini area and got it lasered 20 years ago. It was SO FREEING! I love surfing, swimming, kayaking and hot springs and am now perpetually ready for action without anything except perfectly smooth skin. I have about 3 hairs I periodically pluck out. One under my arm, too. It's the smartest money I ever spent on myself.

That sounds like an absolute dream. Im always shocked when I see women wearing pants that have smooth legs underneath, (something I could never achieve, as im ONLY ever shaving when my legs are going to be bare.) and im always missing out on warm weather activity and dress, because the cost to benefit ratio of shaving isn't there for me. It would take me about 1.5 hours to shave my legs, bum, crotch, and armpits, and for what? To have irritation and breakouts (that can last for well over a week.) for what isn't a smooth shave anyway and last for half a day? The amount of follicles I have is extreme, with two hairs growing out of many of those follicles. My body hair could rival the hairiest of men, and it legitimately lowers my quality of life. I absolutely hate it.

I’ve just finished 8 session of laser hair removal on my under arms. I am NOT hairless but I no longer have awful shaving rashes and have about 85% less hair than I did. I’ll get a top up here and here. It’s definitely worth the money but it’s not always a full removal for everyone. I got laser hair removal about 7years ago because my body hair used to grow so thick that shaving it and letting it grow back was painful. I went to a reputable company that told me everything that I should expect before and after the removal. I never got all my sessions done as I moved to another country, so I still have some hair left. However, the hair that is now left is much thinner and more sparse, so when I actually do shave, I am not only left with smooth skin, but it is no longer painful when I let it grow back. I 100% recommend it to anyone who has the money to do it and if you qualify for laser hair removal.

I plan to do it in the Mediterranean, honestly would never pay 500$++ and a lot of these clinics don’t even get the hair in all the sessions for that price! So many clinics in US it’s borderline not reliable.

I had numerous laser hair removal treatments on certain areas - this is my experience: Underarm - had a total of I think 4 to 5 sessions. About a once a year I go to see my laser hair removal specialist and she checks if any random hairs are there; if there are, she zaps them but this year she checked just last week and it was all clear Had a Brazilian one done also - about 4 sessions all in all Last one two years ago and am due for one next week in fact / some hairs have grown back but I would say about less than 10% On my upper lip and jaw line / have it done more regularly purely because I have a hormonal condition that does cause some abnormal hair growth on the jaw line / so if there are hormones involved, laser helps but some hairs do come back / BUT laser made it significantly better Legs - had maybe about three sessions all in all / some hairs but I just shave them once every few weeks and I am set So all in all - laser is defo worth the investment if you don’t want to run to the waxer every several weeks AND - and this is a big one - if you want to do away with ingrown hairs or irritation from waxing shaving or epilator (which I have and have used but ended up with lots of little curled up ingrown hairs) What I would say is that if one does it - make sure you go to a properly licensed place with specialists who know what they are doing. If you have lots of little moles like I do / a laser specialist properly trained knows to go around them etc etc But I have found it more than worth the money!

Hi there, I guess from the hormonal explanation you gave, you have PCOS as well? I wanted to have your feedback on the jawline/upperlip laser. I’m currently doing laser on my underarm, bikini and legs where the hair is really dark and it works really great! Tho the hair on my upper lip is more pale. I was wondering how was your experience for the upper lip laser removal? Thanks 🤗

@@Jass27O6 Upper lip was just fine. Barely any regrowth nowadays. Does come back a bit but that is less and less. And no, I don't have PCOS. I have what is referred to as a prolactinoma that causes elevated prolactin levels and throws hormones off but even with prolactin somewhat under control, it still comes back. Far less than before but it does come back. What I have noticed is that if I keep my diet in check, which in my case means no dairy and reduced sugar consumption and also if I cut out excessive coffee, then it is ok. Interestingly enough, if I have black tea instead of coffee, that lessens it as well so I have thought that perhaps it has to do with elevated cortisol levels - not sure. Have been tested for PCOS and the answer was no. But in summary, even though some hairs do come back, the jaw line and upper lip is def worth it because it has lessened the hair regrowth significantly and keeps it away for much longer. And this way, you don't need to shave every day which can still leave stubble sometimes....

Laser hair removal is semi permanent, depending upon your hormones. I have had pcos since I was 14, I'm 23 now. And I have had hashimotos thyroiditis since I was 18. These things effect hormones, which inturn effect the number of follicles. I would get laser done every year, and different types of lasers and yet, I still have facial hair, it's not thick and dense as it used to be, but it's still there, it's still visible from a far, in pictures. Happy for all the girlies for whom laser worked a 100 percent.
@samaraisnt

apparently laser does not work at all on facial hair cause it’s purely hormonal…peep the comments there’s people discussing how it didn’t work on that area only.

I also ALWAYS let my clients know- expect to commit to this for a year because it can take 6-12+ sessions per area. Be consistent, every 4-6 weeks. AND if you plan to have kiddos or have other hormonal changes due to health conditions, I still recommend this because the results are amazing and worth it TO ME, but just know hormones can stimulate hair growth too. I touched mine up after 2 years and it was pretty much gone again. I have peach fuzz on my coochie but I don’t really care enough to shave it so yeah- I think it’s worth it!!!

They're not gone completely but if you use tweezers to plug them out, you'll see that the hair that grow back feel like they do not have roots, like you can plug them out without any pain. I did IPL at home. Went from having a 5 o’ clock shadow on my legs 12 hours after shaving to needing to shave once every 2 weeks or so. Not only is the hair much more sparse, the stuff remaining seems much finer and lighter as well. Biggest drawback is that it doesn’t respond the same to every hair growth area-so far bikini area is much thinner, but facial hair & underarms are still going strong. Legs responded best. Six years ago I had a full treatment of laser hair removal on legs, armpits, brazilian and perianal. I never went back to get yearly "reminder" sessions as they call them and I still truly believe it's one of the best treatments I've ever spent my money on. Before laser, I used to wax, use an epilating machine or shave. I have a high pain tolerance, so pain wasn't an issue for me, but results were. My skin would be left inflamed or I would have painful and ugly looking in-grown hairs. It was a hassle and it actually hindered my confidence too. Six years later, I haven't had a single ingrown. The treated areas were mostly bald and with time, I did get some growth back. However it's very sparse, the hairs are thin/soft as they come (very easy to shave and don't cause ingrowns). I'll probably go back to get a few more sessions tho, just to stay on top of it. Point is, yeah, some of it does come back, but it never comes back to the shape and amount it used to be before. And if it does, it might be worth checking with your doc cause sometimes hormonal changes do affect the outcome.

I had SEVERE hirsutism and i found a dermatologist and asked for help as a last resort. I had laser removal every four weeks for about 8 sessions and the hair was completely gone! I have a stray hair on the odd spot, nothing a tweezer can't fix. So for me it removed 99.5% of the hair. And i had the thickest course hair on my face.

This is why I haven’t bothered to go get it- bc I read it comes back anyway. I have dark blondeish-grayish (yes, gray) leg hair so I’ve always been limited by cost or access. Supposedly, “Alexandrite” lasers work on lighter hair types but I’m a) scared of still getting burnt, b) not many places have them, and c) the ones that do have them are too expensive, and aren’t on Groupon or sites like that. If anyone can speak to getting laser hair removal on blonde/gray/red hair, I’d love to hear how it went for you! Any tips would be appreciated.

Absolutely worth it!! I had my underarms and bikini line done 4yrs ago. Bikini line remains absolutely perfect. My underarms have started to regrow very gently. Nothing like it was. I got laser particularly for my underarms because my skin was very sensitive to shaving and waxing. I’ll eventually redo my underarms but it’s not an immediate concern. Absolutely worth the money. The time, pain and expense saved by having laser done outweighs any cost compared to not having it done. Do it!! I would advise against getting a full Brazilian done though, unless you are absolutely certain you never want hair down there ever again. Trust me, you might change your mind as you age.

Genetics is why I went down the Laser Hair path. I have a TON of thick black hair and while it looks great on my head (long thick hair + thick eyebrows) it is a thick forest everywhere else on my body. I did laser hair removal for 14 months on my legs. I’m not hairless but I don’t look like a walking overgrown lawn anymore. I started wearing shorts casually for the first time in 15 years!! 💃 Considering where I started and how I look now, I would absolutely do it again. (Even though it hurt. My pain tolerance is like 2/10 😢)

i’m from south east asia and i get my underarms and brazilian lasered for the past 6 months. underarms : after 3-4 sessions i can already see that there’re BARELY any new hair, only 1-2, and the new hair is also really thin brazilian : the hair here is apparently more resilient than in my underarms, but i can say the growth is like at only 30-50%. so it’s thinner and also take a longer time to grow

That lady who posted is probably trying to get more people to check out her page because of her freakout or she didn't read the fine print or listen to the person lasering her.

I know several women who had laser hair removal and the ones who had hormone therapy (to get pregnant) or just after pregnancy naturally, they say the hair came back in full and they had to do the laser hair removal sessions all over again. Atleast it did stay away for a few years. So they told me to do laser hair removal after you are done having kids because it might come back. This doesn't happen to everyone but major hormonal change definately is risky.

i can vouch. i have pcos so i'm very, very hairy. i had a lot of leg hair, and it was thick and dark. ive been having it laser removed for 3~4 years at this point and it's SO much thinner. like it's still there, but it's thin and sparse enough that it's genuinely kinda hard to see. and that's with pcos!!! laser removal isn't 100% permanent, but it's still damn effective

I had 8 session on the bikini line - and maybe a 50% reduction. Definitely not close to all of the hair! The problem is that your hair has to be close to black and your skin very pale for it to work. My hair has red in it, although it visually looks very dark. The clinic I went to did not tell me this.

It’s so important to know hormones have a lot to do with your results as well - I have PCOS so I have hormonal hair growth on my face, even with 10 treatments after a few years it was coming in thick again and I needed to get another round of 8-10 treatments. That being said I LOVE laser hair removal and suggest it to everyone I can, just make sure you do your research and ensure you ask questions to establish expectations.

In Qatar it’s literally the standard for every Qatari woman to get laser and they start doing so in their teens, it’s also very very cheap and affordable in comparison to the prices I see in the US. Once you experience the advantages and ease of mind with laser you never want to go back, also we usually have dark straight hair and laser is known to work best on dark straight hair.
@DarkFoxV
@DarkFoxV 6 месяцев назад
Yeah. 1) it takes a certain number of treatments at a minimum. Make sure you have enough treatments. 2) it is effective on dark 'adult' hairs, vellus hairs 'baby hairs' are not well affected by laser since they lack the pigmentation necessary for the laser to be effective. 3) laser decreases hair density. This works by continually damaging each follicle, which leads to their destruction over repeat treatments. This means lighters hairs and eventual reduction in hairs. Again, it's necessary to have enough treatments to ensure the effects. 4) new hairs can still grow. Some places have lifetime policies to get additional treatment. Hormone changes can lead to new hair growth. This isn't a failure of laser. Laser is not 4D. It only addresses what is there. New hair growth is typically minimal, if it's a lot, then it might be recommended to talk qith an endocrinologist.

I went through insanely painful laser hair removal. The practitioner failed to use the self-cooling function. It was literally like having a red hot iron held on my leg over and over for 60 seconds at a time. I had 2 full treatments with zero lasting results. I should have had 3, but I also should not have to shave every other day now. Save your money.

I actually do electrolysis because my hair is very thick but heave my warning. I've been going for several years.Because my first electrolysis was plucking hair and made the situation worse then I found electrolysis that does it right. Now instead of coming every week now I come every couple of months to get touched up. Hair growth to change with hormones or if you take antibiotics.

Yes I still have to shave but that’s only because I haven’t gone back to get them touched up. If I decide to do that (I will), I’m sure my legs will be hairless completely probably for another 10+ years. Best $350 I’ve ever spent, honestly.

Yes!! I’m a laser tech & tell people it’s permanent hair REDUCTION. Permanent removal is called Electrolysis. I educate my clients and let them know they’ll need touch ups through out life. Also please don’t ask your laser tech to laser your peach fuzz it will not work, in some cases you’ll ended up getting paradoxical hypertrichosis (meaning you’ll grow hair in areas that didn’t have hair before). Laser also doesn’t work on blonde, grey, white & red hair……don’t let them take your $$$

Hi I have a question hopefully you can answer!! I’ve been wanting to get laser hair removal for years now but I’ve been scared ever since I saw that girl a few years ago that got it and now she just has a bunch of lil dot shaped scars covering her entire legs…… I can’t say if she did it professionally or at home but that instilled a fear in me about it. Is scaring common? Or is that a result of not getting it done properly and/or professionally? Is is safe for very pale skin and also sensitive skin? I really want to get it but I’m unfortunately still over coming a lot of insecurities so I don’t want to add massive scarring to the list😭🤣

I haven’t lasered my armpit hair since my mid 20s (currently now 30s) and while I still have a bit of hair left, it still significantly less than what I had started with. Laser hair removal often does work but it maybe take a while and lower one’s expectations on the results. I did fine mainly because I have a light complexion and super dark hair (aka East Asian).
