Yes! I am naturally dirty blonde, so under arms & bikini took laser well, but my blonde blonde leg hairs needed electrolysis, as well as some additional electrolysis will be needed for underarms and bikini once I am completely done with laser in those areas. It IS a process and electro is not cheap. I do 2 hour sessions every 3 weeks on my legs for 8 months now and still a long way to go. It is something i have thought about for a very long time and sat down to weigh out the pros & cons for my personal reasons. Some women choose nose jobs or breast augmentation… i am investing in shorter shower times, less trash, no painful ingrowns, and no stubble if I skip shaving. In the long run the expense may or may not be cheaper than shaving but is definitely cheaper than waxing or sugaring. Lots of different things to weigh out. The pain to me is minor, but I also have tattoos, piercings and have given birth to another human, so my pain threshold might be different than others. 😂
When I was young, teens or tweens, I had ALOT of facial hair…God bless my mom, she took me for electrolysis for years (it feels like) but it was the best thing ever. I could only imagine what I’d be dealing with had she not. ❤️

I use a really cheap IPL device at home for all (yes, *ALL* ) hair below my nose!! Didn’t expect a cheap one to work so well- it’s actually not a scam! No more dark, hard hairs on my chin, no more Brazilian waxes OR grow-out phase in between waxes. I even use on knuckles and toes. I will not shut up about it!! Wish I had it when I was in high school lol
I use cream with lidocaine and cover the area with wrapping film 1 hour prior the session. And 30-45 min are too short, for armpits it’s necessary at least 2 hours for the first visit and then it depends on how much hair grows back.
My mom had electrolysis done in the late 80’s and early 90’s and her tech burned her follicles, they got infected, they all popped out like huge boils, and now she has scars.
I’m on my fifth round of laser hair removal on my face, the amount of hair has decreased but I think I’ll probably have to go four or five more times at this rate. And then once a year for maintenance ;)
Unfortunately I have new hormonal hairs sprouting in new places every month and this is after 12 lip/chin/jaw sessions with a Candela laser. There is NO WAY I would subject myself to electrolysis for every hair because the torture would never end. I have aggressive endo and mild PCOS. But overall the laser has destroyed the mo I ended up with so it is worth the 2 min appointment every couple of months 😊
I was born looking like a little monkey lol for me it’s always been my top lip it’s so dark the fine hair some nights I cry myself to sleep. I’m an older teenager and I find it embarrassing I won’t wear lipstick bcs of drawing attention it. I wear a mask all the time even in the hot weather. I carry spare facial masks incase the electric band breaks. I am scared to shave it. My mum has ordered me a IPL machine it was £380 in half price sale for my birthday in January. I just pray it works ✨✨🙏
I have really bad KP on my calves and get ingrown hairs all the time becauae i have contact dermatitis so scrubbing is painful. Todya i was stress and started picking at them, wishing i had done laser hair removal, but thansk for telling me its pain AF
Im also blonde, albino, with atopic dermatitis. I did it for a whole year , dozens of sessions. It worked wonderful, but it hurts like hell. We blondes don't have much choice. I had A LOT of hair on my face, it influenced my social anxiety like hell
I want to try it for my upper lip but I’m terrified of getting burned and scared especially on an area like my face… how was your experience? Do you have any discoloration, hyperpigmentation or burns from electrolysis?
@@safa1012It hurts a lot at the upper lip, probably the most painful area. But everyone is different, and you might find it tolerable. I suggest going to a quality place to do it. At the first clinic where I went, the burn marks lasted for like a month.. Then I changed places, and the marks go away in a week or two. I just get temporary redness and some bruises sometimes. Haven’t experienced any scarring or other noticeable complications so far. However it may depend on your skin type and skincare routine. I am very pale, I use vitamin C and niacinamide daily + retinal every other night (but not the first 3-4 days after the treatment, in order to minimize irritation) Hope this helps!!
