Love the concert idea. I have recently thought it would be cool to have a tournament at an amusement park, with the similar idea of being able to enjoy both the park and the tournament.

I agree with Toph @16:34 . Competitors choosing opponents gets stale for me because the players will tend to take less risks. Also, watching the same player matchup again and again is not as hype. When players haven't been matched in a while, it is less clear who will win because both can improve in different ways over time.
