With Bus franchising coming to Greater Manchester, we look at one aspect that might have been overlooked - the distinctive purple Vantage buses that will soon be a part of history.
"Vantage is without doubt a missed opportunity in the Bee Network.
Currently with a unique purple livery and high spec interior, it stands out and promotes the service to commuters. It is distinctive and eye-catching. The Vantage branding contributed to the success of the service."
- William Connolly
"The Leigh Guided Busway service is currently branded as Vantage with vehicles in a distinctive livery and I think this has contributed to the success of the service, making it clear this is not just an ordinary bus service. However, this advantage is going to be lost under Andy Burnham's grand franchising plan which demands a single Bee Network brand identity"
- Roger N. Holden
"The services that run on the Leigh Guided Busway, currently branded Vantage, will be rebranded Bee Network along with other bus services as part of the Mayor's ambition to have a fully integrated transport network in Greater Manchester. Although the services will look the same as other bus servies, the bus service numbers will still be clearly visible on the front of the buses for passengers to see"
