The r35 used to be a performance bargain when it came out and people didn’t just like it because it was a successor to legendary cars. Now, coming in at nearly double the price of the 08 model with little changes, all it’s riding on is that gtr name made legendary by the predecessors and the heritage edition is a prime example of that.
Had a GTR I bought new back in 2010, that oe interior is something we could have dreamed of... I had to retrim entire interior to replace all the vinyl and cloth with real leather
Love your gtr reviews man. People really need to stop looking at just the spec sheets of the gtr vs the competition, this car is surreal when youre actually driving it.
Joe, I totally agree with you with the zonk on that trim around the Nav screen. It reminds me kind of like the Nav trim in a Ford F-150. I like that rural road you were driving on. What area in Florida was that? It was cool! I always really liked the GTR until the Lexus LC 500 came along. No, it’s not nearly as fast as the GTR but God it’s just such a gorgeous car!
Hi Elanor! You are so very right baout the Nav screen. The road I was on is in central Florida on the West coast. You hit the nail on the head about the LC 500.

Really hard to justify the GTR, now that the C8 has been introduced at less than twice the price. When it was first introduced, the GTR was the C8 of it's generation. I am not a huge fan of racing stripes in general, but the shape of the stripe on the hood is terrible. I don't like the design at the corners of the front fascia. The wheels look amazing as well as the exhaust tips. The 50th anniversary billboard on the rear is inexcusable, especially when 50th anniversary is already incorporated into the GTR logo. As far as the interior goes, that screen looks terribly cheap and like you said, needs carbon fiber wrapping. Pretty sure you can get a darker interior color if wanted. The gauges look great, and every sports car should have a tachometer front and center. Not having ventilated seats is a gross mistake at this price point and in the year 2020. Oh yeah, that drive though. I was kind of hoping you would use launch control at least once. Your giggle is a dead give away to every cars driving prowess, love to hear it. Oh yeah, last point, despite my criticism, I absolutely love the GTR, including the looks of it. I have always. It is truly amazing that it still holds it's own, and proves competitive even when faced with much newer competition. I would never buy this 50th anniversary model though. I would save the money and buy a base GTR. They respond really well to mods, and a base could easily be tuned to have better performance than even a Nismo at a fraction of the cost.
Ya problem with c8 is they don't make many. They've closed all orders for it till 2021 model lol and those that are out there costs the same or more than the GT-R.
I know it is a GTR but man... That price seems way higher than what I was expecting around $80,000 but that was way off! For that price, all vents needs to be real! Excellent review Joe!!! Keep it up man!

I've always been mystified and wondered what it be like to drive a car I will probably never be able to afford, but Nissan has cranked the price up on a car with no major changes to an insane price.
Washing those rims would be the bane of my existence. Godzilla will always live on in our memory but the car is looking long in the tooth. It needs a redesign post haste. Top work as always Joe. Keep 'em coming .

That blue so nice, delete that stripe and awful 50th Anniversary script. Props to Nissan for doin that lighter interior and even the steering wheel in something other than black or charcoal. Engine bay's a thing of beauty on this car, especially with that blue comin through. I guess the performance is there for $125k, but so many other choices at that price point it's hard to imagine going with the Nissan. Glad to see you found some twisty bits to blast it around on though. Good stuff! 😊
It already has these pops that are obnoxious enough as you hear in the video. To me personally it's a gimmick. It really has no function and manufacturers do this for appeal, not performance.

The new Altima, even in Base form, rocks! My friend & I recently flogged the Base models of both the 2019 Altima and 2019 Accord around for a couple days back-to-back. (They were both low mileage rentals. Altima had 6K miles, Accord had almost 4K.) We both came to the same conclusions: Dynamically, the new Altima was unexpectedly the hands-down winner, by far. The Altima feels more agile and tackles hard corners with far more confidence. It has a noticeably more responsive CVT (the Accord's CVT lagged between shifts, feeling like a Nissan CVT of the early 2000s). Nissan's latest version of the naturally-aspirated QR25DE felt more flexible and willing than the Accord's turbo engine. So fun! On the inside, the Altima Base model's larger infotainment screen was clearer and the audio system sounded and pounded far better than the Accord's. Nissan's corporate and ubiquitous flat-bottom steering wheel design looks better than some in ultra luxury cars! The Altima's Zero-Gravity seats put the Accord's flat bottom seats to shame...even in the rear!!! So comfy! The Base model even has remote start!!! The exterior body lines and sculpting on the Altima are purposeful and thematic. The Accord's exterior styling is dizzyingly confusing, especially up close. The only zonks we gave the base Alti were the halogen headlamps and the 16" hubcaps. Luckily, both of those zonks can be remedied very easily with some 370Z wheels and a quick 15-minute swap to LED bulbs!!! Go Nissan!
The interior and gauge cluster seems very dates. This would car make sense at a price point of around 75 to 80k but 125k is just too much. You have so many other german options for this price. Nice review though!
While I dont disagree regarding the interior and cluster, nobody buys this car for that. It is an absolute savage on the streets and track. That is why you buy this car.
I don't mind the gauge cluster I'm not into gauge cluster screens to futuristic to me like the old school gauges and like how it looks but I do think the info screen could be better more updated looking screen
