I love my AP3s; I agree with you on the lacing systems, it's terrible. I've found they are great for cruising pace, but that toe-off is fantastic for picking up the pace.

Great review Fordy .I did the Big Half on Sunday in the Aidos pro 2s ,I was just cruising round the course just effortless and managed a 9 min PB in them . Great shoe I love wearing them .

Fordy it sounds to me like the boredom of a race without a good crowd to cheer you on got into your head at the end there. It happens to all of us at times. Its amazing how body parts start talking to you inside your head when you lose focus. Great review by the way. I just ordered a pair of Pro 3's I found for $136 so I'm not put off the shoe. Love your insights and reviews.

Hi! I tell you my story. I was planning to run just the half of the Mexico City marathon with the Adios pro 3 and suddenly a friend ask me to pace him for a 3:20 for the full race. I did it (4:45/km) and I ran the last 5 K in under 20 minutes. I have no complaints and absolutely amazed how well I felt.

Love love love the adizero pro 3’s, for me I really have to push harder to run faster with the endorphin pro3 which I really like, I ran faster in adizero pro 3 which for me was effortless, even faster compared to my heavier alphafly v2

I wore the Endorphin Pro 3s for the same race, was really impressed with them I’ve got to say. Was eying up the alphafly 2 or adios 3 as another option for my next marathon but may stick with the Saucony. If I didn’t struggle with a bit of stability I don’t think I’d use anything other than the Vaporfly though, like you say, nothing touches it in regards to throwing you forwards when you’re nakard

Did 18 miles and they didn’t want to stop. Yes you are right they just seem to lock in to a speed and stay there…forever. Lol. I like them, agreed about the laces and the tongue.

I find the Alphafly V1 to wild for me.. I am a heel striker so landing midfoot is unnatural for me.. Regarding the Endorphin Pro 3 it is vastly more comfortable then Vaporfly but it lacks the aggressive nature of the Vaporfly.. I would prefer to run the first 5 mile in the Vaporfly, move to the Pro3, but for the last couple of miles back to the Vaporfly for the help it gives when my legs are tired. Actually if you have someone helping you on race day it is feasible.. Never thought of that before 😳

I picked up a discounted pair of Adidas Pro 3 instead of a pair of Saucony Pro 3. Agree the lacing is terrible, can’t get a good lockdown. The right shoe also rubs my toes a little. However, I found them to be really comfortable on a long run & was able to cruise along at a good pace. Didn’t feel too beat up after either. Gonna test them on a couple of HM races.

Out of interest, Fordy, which way are yours pre-laced? I saw many comments on Believe In The Run’s full review about Adidas lacing them by entering eyelets from the top instead of the bottom, which made lacing a headache. Once they switched it around to mirror other brands, it made life so much easier. I can’t attest to this as my Adios Pro 3s, which I love, are laced perfectly fine out of the box, same as other shoes and I’m not having lockdown issues. Just curious.

My AAApro2s were the same and changed the laces to come from the bottom straight away, as you could pull them all day and they wouldn’t tighten out of the box.

I’ve got so many different brands of running trainers and now after spending a fortune on them I’ve come down to my two favourites and these are one of them! They feel AMAZING!! i wear them a lot, they work for almost everything 😍 5/10k I’ll stick to Vaporfly but these for everything else definitely 🏃🏻💪🏻

Great review Chris. I tried it a few weeks ago but only on a treadmill and I loved them but that’s a huge difference to that last 3miles of a race when you need them most. Did you end up running a marathon in them?

I liked the 2’s, almost ran chicago in them last year. I got the 3’s and I really like their feel. It’s between these and the endorphin pro 3 for my big marathon.

After watching your vid, I have to ask, is it that that Adios Pro 3 "maintains" a rate of return you put into in it, where as the Alphafly, gives you a little more in return? Keep in mind, I am not "Super Shoe" material, LOL! but I always enjoy your vids.

It’s the same lacing as in the prime x and that got so many complaints about it not sure why the put in on the pro 3, but this shoe definitely seems like an alpha fly competitor, something to just hold pace for a marathon and keep you ticking over the whole distance

Chris, had a PT session earlier and been told I defo can’t go back into something like a Vaporfly until I’ve strengthened my leg up and I need to stay in something that stops me collapsing in more than I need to. So thinking my safest option would be these or the alphafly, with what you’re saying (spot on as well) about having a shoe with that but if unph at the end of a race, do you think the alphafly is the better option. These would be purely for marathon, happy with my endorphins for halfs and below etc. cheers mate

I did Amsterdam last year in the Pro 2, plenty stable for me, as someone for whom the Endorphin Speed 2 was way too unstable. This year I'm training in the Vaporfly, haven't raced in them yet but in the last part of my 30K last weekend I felt less pushed than by the Pro 2 in the final stretch. But as you said this is probably mostly psychological.

Just ordered a pair from the Adidas website for half price ($125 US)...looking forward to using them as a long run shoe while training for half or full marathons. My race day shoe will be the Saucony Endorphin Pro 3.

Yeah, I got the pair for races after two Nike race shoes; did not race in them (it should be Ljubljana 23th October’s; I hope so 01:29:59 for half marathon); shoe is good; and if you're sure of your form the will be no next% - other shoe problem P.S Alphafly is terible shoe

I have the adios pro 2 and wanted to try V3. But the upper material, I really don't like them, they scrunch like plastic and didn't get back to shape like the V2. And the fit and lacing... at the top there's a piece of cloth across the laces which really make it hard to get a good lock-down. I try to like the V3 but couldn't. The ride is though is great.

Ran the Antrim half in NI last weekend Fordy and it’s fantastic and if you haven’t run it already it’s a must for your calendar in the future. Fast, flat, incredibly scenic and great crowds. With a brand new pair of speed 2’s on my feet felt great all the way and so importantly with 3 to go had that wonderful ‘right Ian get you foot down’ moment and this remarkable shoe just delivers on point and allows a runner of my age (61) to beat my times of 10 years ago and overtake a few runners half my age in next% and adios pros on the way. 1:40:55 Great video again as always and lots of luck in your upcoming marathons. 👍👏

Stability aside, would you say v3's midsole is softer than v2's? I've found the v2 to be firm and leg fatiguing. Read that v2's midsole needed over 100km to break in.

I found the upper to be a nuisance..the midsole rolls quite nice..if you are up on the forefoot you can feel the rods push you along and the effort seems less..

Me too. The wider base massively improves stability, and they’re softer without sacrificing responsiveness. Certainly, for me, a huge improvement, particularly if you’re talking marathon distance.

Look at getting 55 lock flat elastic laces, it'll fix your issues as they do with all my shoes. Haven't raced in mine, but I've ran enough to break them in and my only issue is still the heel rubs, but I think it's gotten a fair bit better. Funny enough I have the puma elite fast-r on order as well 👍

I would wear the Adidas and alphafly in 2 of your marathons, then you can really compare the two over a beast of a marathon distance. London with the adidas and Amsterdam with nikes. Or Maybe one on each foot, 😄, only joking .
