I picked up the Adidas Adios Pro 3 to use for my Goal Marathon race. After running that race with the Pro 3 I wanted to sit down and do a full review of the shoe and talk about whether this will be my marathon shoe moving forward.

It is a good shoe. I will probably get a lot of miles in them during my next marathon training block for the fall. Even though I did not get the upper perfect for the marathon. I did run a 12 minute PR (time trial) for the half marathon and a 32 minute marathon PR in the shoe. Solid choice

It is a great shoe ! Slight upper issues I suspect they will fix with version 4 . The midsole is awesome ; just takes some time working with the light upper material.

The upper is finicky, but the ride is worth it. I’m on my second pair. 50% off sale sealed it for me. My first pair is a long run shoe now

Exactly, upper is a little annoying but not a big deal for me ; as long as I don’t over tighten any areas I am fine. the midsole works so well for me ; I also got it at 125 bucks and regularly see for 175 US dollars. Definitely worth that price if no major upper issues. After a few races it makes a great tempo long run shoe for close to 300 miles

Agreed. It’s funny race morning I feel I had the fit right where I wanted it and then standing waiting for the race to start I tightened them up more than I needed too.

I John had the same issue. They felt great in a runoff against another pair of trainers, but on a 15-mile undulating run, the bone of my big toe felt bruised by the end. It's definitely a shoe for long flat efforts but not marathon day itself.

Agreed. I still think I am going to get lots of use out of the shoe, just maybe not for another marathon.

Same lace bite for me. I put in tongue pads, which worked well enough for me to BQ today 🏃‍♂️. I also loosen a bit at the toes, but I don’t have the rubbing problem. I had been using a runner’s knot but opted not to today. Didn’t have any slippage.

Have never even considered any kind of a “tongue pad” might have to be something I try. The purist in me when it came to testing the shoe had me not wanting to change anything (laces, tongue pad, insole). Mostly so I was able to give a full review on the shoe as adidas made it. Definitely something I’m going to look at now. Thanks for the suggestion

Bought this shoe and ran my first marathon last fall in this shoe. Felt great until later on. The upper is definitely finicky, and the laces became tight/uncomfy after the 18ish mile.

Hi my friend, really good reviews!! my weight is 95 kilos (height 1.92), am I able to go for the Adizero Adios Pro 3?

Personally I think it could be a really good option. Of course everyone is different and the way you run, how fast you run and what type of shoe you prefer have a big impact on what shoe would work best. The adios pro 3 midsole is a little less soft than something like zoom x drone Nike which for me makes it a more stable option

Only wish the rods were made more durable, I hate the cracking sound

I have heard a few folks having problems with the rods. I have not had that issue in my pair.

@ursulinenyandindi3051 I remember Kofuzi was thinking of using the pro 3 in a race last year and decided not to after one of the rods broke 🤷‍♂️
