You got the first guess right. I was sambal. They usually dont serve chutney for roti canai. Roti canai it's either dhal, fish currry, and maybe sambal

"No bad roti canai in Malaysia" - yes, it can be bad, in fact bad roti canai is depressingly common. They will often cook 20 or 30 at a time, and then store them in a cooler. Then as customers come in they take the stored roti canai out and maybe re-heat them on the griddle. Not-fresh roti canai like this is tough, hard to eat. I got tired of asking for "buat baru", they don't want to do it, so I started ordering roti telur exclusively. And then they started making roti telur and storing it also. So these days I always order roti telur bawang - you know they have to make a fresh one for you. Incidentally prices have been going up steadily in the past few months. Then again, Bangsar is like KL's Azabu Juban - a "trendy" place where prices are automatically higher.

There are 3 type of roti canai in gerenal in Malaysia,the malay roti canai is more crispy,the mamak roti canai is similar to malay one but curry is different and the Indian roti canai normally not oily crispy outside soft inside serve with fish,Dahl or chicken curry

To find your dragonball roti canai, I recommend you to compare the distinctive taste of mamak style, malay style, indian style, and nyonya style roti canai. There are many hidden dragonball of roti canai outside of Bangsar. My personal fav is Raju in PJ but this is of course indian style….

Roti Canai is one of 'Energy Booster' meal, my favorite is Roti Canai Bawang with curry sauce from curry ikan (very umami taste), usually i order two sets, should try it. Perfect for Breakfast or Tea time.

Jimmy is like a local, he can identify the pisang type! Next time you can also do dosa or tosai marathon? In Bangsar there is the famous Bala’s.

Mohan's appam shared the place with Brother's claypot briyani. The claypot briyani has different levels of spiciness. And it is cheaper than most of the claypot places around KL. Try that la the next time. (Try their mutton claypot briyani).

This can be the start of a mamak series.. comparing mee goreng mamak, rojak, etc.

So this is my experience. I love Roti Canai coz its good. And not every places of Roti Canai is pricy as you had. My most expensive Roti Canai is at KL cost RM4.00, but that price is for Roti Sardin. Roti Kosong cost RM1.60. So, overall, i will order Roti Kosong 2 pieces and Roti Sardin 1 piece. Total will be RM9.60. Yes its expensive and that is the only time I'm spend only for Roti Canai. Next day, I tryna my hard find the best spot to eat Roti Canai coz its delicious. Seeing Jimmy enjoyed eating like that😂😂😂😂always impressed. Jimmy did enjoyed eating it👍👍👍👍. Roti canai dough nowadays are supplied by factory so taste the same anywhere. Only the curry are different.

Nasi kandar not just the only one has kuah banjir, your both's favourite. Roti canai has it too! They pour all the 3 kuah dal, kari & sambal onto the roti. All flavour mixed & just, surrrrrr.

If you're ever in Bangi again, try "Warung Sri Nangka Mad Zin" for roti canai and nasi lemak. They only open for breakfast.

Hi guys. Years and years before, roti canai and nasi lemak both are taken during breakfast. These are actually breakfast dishes. But then the mamak culture came in, with mamak stalls to open up to 24/7, they included roti canai and nasi lemak in their menu, since then we has shifted the breakfast menus into dinner as well. It is because of the growing mamak stalls which are great, everyone can lepak and gather around eating delicious roti canai and nasi lemak. What is not good is that this has become habits for most malaysian to have heavy supper and lead to obesity. Malaysia is number one country in SEA, having the highest rate of obesity. But of course it all depends on individual. Not saying or blaming the lepak at night culture. But it can be one of the factor. And to be honest, need to blame all those delicious food in malaysia. Everything is so good and so many to try. Cannot stop eating 😂😂😂
