I am enjoying your video in Vienna since I have been close, but did not make it there. Prague in February was packed despite being low season. Do you mind me asking what professions you both had before achieving FIRE? Thank you! ❤
Pronounced: Najt markt Are you staying shorter in each town due to the prices nowadays or you scheduled yourself in quite a few towns❓️ Also: Have you considered filming with a drone? I know edititing and fulming is quite a task.
We decided to see the Czech Republic and Austria through shorter stays because of both the expense and also the crowds in peak season. We're back to slow travel now with a month in Bratislava and another month in Budapest.
We spent the whole of March 2022 in Vienna-it was chilly but didn’t rain at all. . . We lucked out with a spartan (we bought a bathmat for the shower!) but affordable rental in the center of Vienna. We were also able to take short getaways to Bratislava, Budapest and Trieste. Public transportation was easy to navigate. The museums are extraordinary as were the church choirs/concerts and the walking was fantastic-not just the old town but the vineyards on the outskirts of town. We also did a pastry tour with Wulfi (via AirBnb Experiences, I think) and a wine tour. I agree with you that fast traveling DOES take its toll. . . We also find we eat out more when we “fast” travel. We could have easily spent a 2nd month in Vienna but April in Paris was calling to us!
Vienna is a place we could certainly go back to...a single week did not do it justice. Like you found, it's a great base for visiting the region and there's so much art and history to discover.
What a fun visit to Vienna, if only for a short time. BTW, those big red olives are Italian Cerignola olives...very mild and meaty. They're not naturally red, but dyed with food coloring.
I was in Vienna for the last week of April 2022 and it didn't rain at all! It was usually cloudy and it wasn't exactly warm, but never rained. I didn't realize how lucky we were!
I hope you enjoyed Vienna! I lived there during most of the 1990s, and I try to go back for a few days every two or three years. What strikes me in particular is how much wealthier and cosmopolitan the city has become since the old days (my old days, that is...). A pity you only had a week, there is a lot to see and do throughout the city and immediate surroundings. May I guess that your next short stop is in Hungary?
oh, so THAT'S where all the money's going. jk, i have always wanted to visit this city. EVERY single person who's ever been there tells me it's 'great' so there must be something to it . . .
Very close...our next stop was Slovakia and now we're in Hungary 😊 Of course it was our first time seeing Vienna but we also found it to be a fairly affluent city.
