In today’s video, I brush over a few reasons why vertigo happens, but the main focus today is the curve of the spine, specifically the area around the neck. The area of your brain that controls balance is directly connected to the spinal cord, so a disruption there can lead to issues with vertigo.

i was diagnosed with vertigo yesterday in an ER because it sent me into a panic attack and i hyperventilated. i’ve been going to the chiropractor for a few weeks now to fix my hips, spine, and neck which is at 0.8 degrees. my chiropractor just kept telling me to eat more and never once brought this up everytime i told them i was very dizzy and feeling like passing out.

I started getting vertigo last year after sitting in an inter tube in and lazy river. About 8 years ago a herniated my c4-c5 disc & was trying to avoid surgery, after an excruciating 3 years it slipped back into place, but I was told by my pt that I would develop degenerative disc disease. Now when I stretch my head back or lie on my left side I get vertigo. I really believe it’s my neck🥺

I experienced vertigo while I was driving on the expressway one day...I had to slow down and exit because it was a really weird feeling. It was after I got eye glasses...I needed them in order to drive because I failed the vision part of my driver's renewal test. Let me note that the lens type for my glasses were "progressive". I read somewhere that these types of lenses can cause vertigo?? 🤔 Anyway, I never experienced any kind of vertigo like that before until I got those glasses. 🤔

I recently realized that when I do a certain move when working out laying down and put my head in a certain position the crystals in my ear come loose. Not sure what to do with that information this is the second time it's happened and it's worth the second time than the first time even though it's been two years apart

I'm getting an MRI of my neck and spine because of my off balance that causes dizziness sometimes. My chiropractor has always said that it was because of my neck.

I have vertigo usually only in the car with what I thought was anxiety. I went to the er after passing out and was diagnosed with vasovagal. But I havnt been so sure. I use to go into episodes in the car and become extremely hot and bother, hyperventilating dizziness and have to lay flat or I will go unconscious. If I have water with me or something cold to touch I can come out of it. I’m able to know now before I go into an episode and can control it usually before it happens. I don’t drive for or leave the house for these reason. It has gotten worse, now when I stretch I become extremely dizzy and the whole room is spinning and it will not go away unless I sit back to my normal position of sitting up. This is scary to me because usually when I go into an episode I lay down flat, and now I can’t do that so I am unsure how to seek help. I was seen a few times for it but not diagnosis was determined just vasovagal syncope. (I can’t get blood drawn sitting up I have to lay flat or I will pass out.) I do have a high pain tolerance or so I am told(fractured a few bones and didn’t know). I do not get normal head aches either, I usually get silent migraines with blurry vision. I don’t know where to go from here.

I have quite a few cervical spine issues including bulging discs and stenosis that are pinching into my nerve branches, thankfully none show much pressure on my spinal column, but I get some days when I get alot of that cervical dizziness, lethargy, and brain fog, and I'm curious what types of exercises and stretches I should be doing and avoiding. I am also on my 2nd treatment of prolotherapy, and not sure if it's helping yet... I've been warned not to take any anti-inflammitories or to ice my neck at all while on the prolotherapy. Appreciate any helpful advice.

I am currently suffering from pain at the base of my head/top of my neck, I have been struggling with vertigo for 3 plus weeks. Do you have a local corrective chiropractor that you would recommend near Salem Oregon? I was in an auto accident about 14 years ago, my head was turned to the left and I had whiplash from the accident. I have suffered from neck pain ever since that accident. If I lean my neck to the left as far as I can, I get vertigo when I left my head back up. Do you have any recommendations?

Hi Dr. I have been suffering from.dizziness for the last 10 years. Had an MRI scan in 2017 and discovered I have 2 hernias on C5 and C6. Is there anything that can be done as this is affecting my life in a negative way. Thank you

I used to get vertigo 30 years ago 6 episodes.it went away..yesterday I had a neck massage..felt like I was light headed at one point..I was done felt good..I was asleep that night..woke up vertigo..went back to sleep woke up in the morning..VERTIGO and got sick..I feel that something was trigger during this ten minute neck massage…not sure what else to do

When i start driving car, initially all good, then slight pain at the base of skull starts followed by feeling of imbalance, followed by more pressure in neck and shoulders and them around eyes and cheeks..any guidance or help will be appreciated. Thanks!

I have suspected for months my autonomic symptoms (low blood pressure when standing and seeing spots ) was because of my neck as well as mood changes?. I went to a chiro yesterday and cracked my neck for the first time ever. I woke up this morning off balance I was walking into the wall and my dizziness didn't for away for a good hour our so. I was also very nauseous all day today. Could this be a result of the adjustment?

I fear that there are so many people out there with neck problems now. Especially due to the advent of smart phones 😕 Not only do I suffer from a rocking-type 'vertigo' 24/7, but I also suffer from palpitations, nausea, hand & head tremors, tingling/burning hands, weakness in my arms and legs, mental confusion, problems with my vision, neck pain and massive headaches (that last all day), angry outbursts/personality changes and chronic fatigue that gets worse and worse as the day goes on. It started off with a "you have chronic fatigue & fibromyalgia" BS diagnosis by the doctor because GP's etc simply have no idea of what's going on with you. The next diagnosis was PPPD/MdDS. These doctors/'specialists' have absolutely no idea that people's necks can be causing all these things! 😢 And getting the right help is near impossible in the city where you live. If only I lived in the USA, I'd see you or Dr Ross Hauser. Anywhere else in the world and you're basically screwed 😞 (I'm in Australia).

Have you found a solution to all our problems? I also thought to my myself that maybe I have pppd because of the constant dizziness. But now I believe its the neck. Please man any help will do! My dizziness is also exactly like yours! I would also describe it as rocking vertigo! Only a few people have this and doctors can't help me. I'm really frustrated and TIRED and feel hopeless because of this constant condition

I have been having vertigo symptoms for about 3 years now. I figured out on my own that he had something to do with my neck. When I rub the area of my neck just under the base of my skull I can feel a clicking sensation and I’m able to move something in there. When I rub that area, it does seem to help with my symptoms. I started seeing a chiropractor and that has helped me. Is there anything specific I should tell him to try? Also, is there any other type of doctor I should see? Thanks.

I have no firm diagnosis although BPPV was ruled out by my ENT. All seemed to start when I commenced a new desk based job, but also just after COVID. Tinnitus is constant in one ear since COVID infection and vertigo, dizziness and constant headaches began shortly after that. I’m seeing a chiropractor twice a week, who is taking the approach of concussion, even though I don’t have this. It’s really debilitating and I’m stressed as I don’t have a diagnosis as yet. It’s affecting my state of mind.

I'm facing a very similar set of issues, were you able to figure out what the cause was in your case? I had the sensation that my ears were full and blocked that kept coming and going for almost a year and then it resolved itself but now for almost a year I've been facing dizziness

@@Erilyth my dizziness and vertigo stopped maybe three months ago and I don’t really know why I had it. My chiropractor thinks maybe post COVID issues. I’ve started seeing a headache specialist in the last month and some progress seems to be being made. I really hope your dizziness clears.

Hi doc! I was wondering I’ve been suffering from chronic vertigo and balance problems for about 2 years now and I’ve been exploring trying to figure out what the root cause could be for it. I was wondering could sleeping or resting on a pillow for a certain amount of time damage the neck to cause vertigo?

Hi, I believe i am suffering from this. The top of my neck, and close to my skull has been very discomforting. However, i don't know who diagnosis cervical vertigo. A neurologist has done test on me and they said they can't seem to find anything. I hope this will help me.

@Alignwc Just saw your video and I believe this is what I'm experiencing. I've suffered neck trauma in the past and suffer chronic pain in my neck daily. I've seen my pcp recently and she's trying to treat me for allergies. Saw a neurologist last year and he couldn't figure out where the pain is coming from. Thought it may be nerve pain. The last 5 weeks I've begun experiencing vertigo when I'm sitting down. It's not regular dizziness. My neck doesn't have the curve in it and my c5/6 vertebrae is bulging. Also have slight scoliosis and bone spurs on my neck. Saw a DO couple of weeks ago and he's thinking i may have some kind of spinal instability. Really would like your advice or if you're able to reach out. Thanks again for the video.
