The day where people got to try it out for free is the most infamous day in HD2 so far. I was lucky my heavy armor than has blast protection saved me, but I got so much air time I though numbers were going to start popping up like in a Tony Hawk game.
There was a small bit of time where you could hold and release the trigger to detonate the airburst, but I think that was some sort of bug and we got a patch that night. Most people just use it like a normal rocket though instead of the massive cluster that it is. Closed many bug holes with a single shot
This has been my regular loadout on helldive difficulty against the bugs. While my teammates out there securing one objective, i go off to the other side of the map and try to clear everything. Although i switch out the secondary with the redeemer or the grenade pistol, depending which planet i’m on. If it has alot of spewers, the grenade pistol comes in handy.
@mohamedaanish my regular is jar5 (after long tests of all weapons), grenade pistol always. And eat 17 or sometimes spear or flamethrower. Quasar is very long reload for hard fights. Helldive on bugs
Yeah more times than not I see shooting the drop ship to be unproductive, especially the ones carrying tanks and the factory strider. I think people need to get their timing right because they do it right as it's unloading which seems to be the worst time.
Except when the ship falls with all the passengers it hurts everything including killing or at least harming heavies especially if you are able to hit them early.
@@avlaenamnell6994 They fire rate and persisting lack of damage made it prohibitively an emergency shove almost exclusively. The fire rate increase at least makes it a much mor reliable point lockdown tool, though its damage in heavy fighting is still lacking. Everyone and their Rover brings an Incendiary Breaker, though, so it's a good compliment to them so long as they're not constantly setting you on fire.
when it first came out, nobody used it until half way in the mission. we had no deaths until then. then we lost most of our weapons and used it then. my god we lost 10-15 lives within minutes
Plasma punisher or purifier is a better primary for using airburst imo. It gives you a strong stagger, with better range and control over enemies, and can be used to follow up on an airbust shot to fully clear a patrol. Also if you bring this load out without grenade pistol you'll need factory and bug hole stratagems
Dropships? It may not bring them down but shooting it at the belly of the ship can still eliminate the troops they drop. Depending on how fast you are, you may hit the ship just as they land having the airburst rain down on them. It's effective
The airburst was always good. It just got better. I used it most missions for crowd control, blowing up bot factories, towers etc. It worked, players just had to be more measured qith it's use.
At launch the biggest issue was that it could be prox detonated by teammates that were too close otherwise it was a perfectly fine so long as you understand the burst range and didn't use it like it was a normal rocket launcher
I think it only became usable but its pretty bad. At most i've had it do is take out 12 enemies but usually its closer to 6 or less consistently. I'd say it does 3 - 12 kills on groups and it becomes exponentially rarer for anything above 7. You also have to remember the lack of ammo the reload time and again the possibility of killing yourself. Its the weapon ever.
Quasar is useless on higher level of difficulty because of longer recharge time. When it's 2-4 dropships at once you can take down only one of them, but we were able to take two of four. Expandble Anti-Tank is better in that case.
Far far from useless, but better suited against bugs than bots. It needing to wind up the shot has always meant it made you vulnerable for a dangerous amount of time, and if you get hit just as it fires you lose the whole shot. Against bugs who don't shoot back, this isn't a problem. And since bugs are constantly chasing you, it makes stopping to reload or staying near your EAT pod long enough difficult and dangerous. So having an AT weapon that reloads whilst you run and fire your primary, has incredible value. Against bots I would recommend the Recoiless or EATs instead. Which I think is great, that all three weapons are viable again, just in their own areas, without the Quasar overshadowing them like it was at release.
It's still not good. We don't need a smaller detect radius, what we need a minimal arming distance so we don't get blown up by a bug we didn't see behind the crates in front of us.
it would work as a tactical offensive weapon, as Spear does for long range, use ARL to clear the area cuz u dont have to go near the site to land a gud throw like Eagle Cluster. also, its a rocket launher, not AT, dont compare it with Quasar, its completely different sense of use on the field
The shield bubble don’t protect you from blowing urself. I tried to fire from the shield at close ennemies, the rocket detonated outside the bubble and the cluster bombs actually went threw the shield and killed me.
And with the circumstances of his UMG deal, drake probably has had very little control over his own career for years. I wouldn’t be surprised if many of the creative decisions in his albums were decided on by committee.
Now just add a stage or 3 to the relod animation. I used this the whole time but got sick of that turbo long, single stage reload. Siriously, pulling a launcher out with a rocket sticking out, just to have it disahpear gets old fast
For most mission takes EATs or quasar. For the defense mission (the one where you hold your ground until 8 rockets launch) take the recoilless rifle and have a teammate do the same. Now reload assist each other and i guarantee you not a single bot dropship will survive for long
