Penniwise draws his powers from Fear. However his powered are of both Illusions and Shapeshifting. They basically made him believe that he was a small clown with a scared beating heart. And because of that he took that form which they were able to kill him in.

I love how scared Pat is. XD he is someone I would love to watch a horror movie with. Because I dont really get scared of horror movies so it would make it so much more enjoyable to watch it with someone who does. I grew up watching Nightmare on Elm Street, the whole movie series, I think there's like 7 movies, and it was my favorite, I also liked Chucky and the OG IT was so good.

Oh thank god. After ten thousand years, finally we get part 2! "Why are you guys so okay with murder?" The book explains that every return of Pennywise is preceded by a horrible event(a massacre, the Ironworks explosion, etc;). Stephen King based Adrian's death on that of a real homosexual man who was beaten, only adding the homicidal clown element as well. Everyone complained last movie because they felt Bill Skarsgaard was too scary to be convincing as being able to lure people in. However, the scene where he kills Vicky is FANTASTIC. His annoyance at her initially not accepting his attempt, then using her empathy against her. Lol, Rana vibrating when Vicky got her face bitten off.And her freaking out at the one cockroach and "NEKKID GRANDMA!"

not sure if they explain it in the movie but the reason all the kids have amazing lives and jobs after leaving is because they survived pennywise

I went to watch this movie in theatres by myself at 930 at night after a full day's work. Got my Coke and popcorn, sat down, and fell asleep within 10 mins 🤦🏻‍♂️. Bought it on Blu-ray a few months later and loved it.

Chris’ comments on “the losers’” life experience is indeed why they were able to overcome their fear in the end. They grew up and matured, learning upon confronting and reflecting on their past; a strong relation to the concept of healing/parenting your inner child. If you don’t work through shit, it’s still going to “haunt” you, fucking up parts of your life. And that’s what we see in the beginning. They were all struggling some in their adulthood. So the story is a combination of real life and the supernatural entity. The book details far more, of course, making these connections clear. But there is enough in the film to get viewers to a better comprehension … it just might take some analytics thinking. As Chris stated, the fact that it is supernatural indeed presents the fact that not everything is going to make perfect logical sense. (This sometimes trips me up as I regularly need things to connect literally, so I have to remind myself of this if something doesn’t quite match up.)

In the movie the kids defeated IT because Bill was able to finally accept Georgie's death. And he got mad that the thing was using Georgie to manipulate his feelings. So it wasn't really that he wasn't scared anymore. He was just p'd off enough to not care about being scared.

There is suppose to be a prequel releasing about the history of Derry and how Pennywise because a murderous clown

So the movie didn’t go too deep into it but you don’t have to not be afraid to beat him. He takes on the weaknesses of whatever form he’s in. So if yoyre not scared of him and you can make him a weak little clown it’s easier to beat him. But if he’s say a werewolf? He’d be weak to silver or wolfsbane. If he’s a vampire you could drive him off with crosses or stake him. The peace of the fence worked because they believed it could kill all monsters and he was a monster. So if you’re fear is something with a clear weakness that may be an objectively easier way to beat him.

They all remember everyhting. However for some paranormal reason when they leave the town they stop thinking about it. Except Mike cause he stayed in the town

I definitely didn't enjoy part 2 as much. I get it. The books also had a timeskip. But I feel like the horror aspect was at its best when a bunch of kids were being chased around by an entity they couldn't comprehend. And most of the cast(aside from Pennywise) being recasted because of the timeskip also made me feel not as attached. I dunno. I still liked it. The aspects of Richie being queer and in love with Eddie and being ashamed or scared to face that(since it's the 80's) is interesting. And also really ironic that Finn Wolfhard plays a queer character who is in love with his best friend while being stalked by a supernatural entity in this movie. And in Stranger Things, he plays a character whose male best friend is in love with him while being stalked by a supernatural entity in the 80's. Very interesting. Overall, I liked the movie. Didn't love it as much as Part 1.

Please watch the miniseries. As someone who was also traumatized by It as a kid, the scares don't hold up, but it's just so interesting to compare them.

You know what, I don't even think part 2 comes any close to IT 1 but fuck it, it's been so long since I watched I might do a double feature with both movies.

I used to be a really "scaredy cat" as a kid. I would have nightmares and wet the bed as a kid all the time. But a mixture of being a Christian boy who was told that God/Jesus is the ultimate defense and watching the originals of this movie I learned a trick. I eventually reprogrammed my mind through mental prayers that I wanted God to send his power through me to allow me to be a warrior that could rip apart all evil with my own hands. Not to protect me, or give a weapon or shield against scary things, but allow my own body have the power of God flow through my veins to destroy all evil with my own hands and fists. In my head I viewed it similar to Goku absorbing energy to make himself strong enough to defeat his enemies. I eventually stopped being scared. Or at least once something gets scary my mind kinda "flips a switch" and I get an adrenaline rush. Like I legit get adrenaline IRL and get a pump like I just took a lot of caffeine or pre-workout. Anyways in my head all my nightmares would start off scared until my mental training made me remember to do the prayer and then I gain full control of my nightmares and I even chase down the monsters in my nightmares and beat them up and save the other dream npc's. Like i'm literally throwing hands with monsters, demons, aliens, and whatever it is. I know in some peoples views that might be silly, crazy, or whatever. But the whole reprogramming your mind to overcome fear worked for me.
