"He's got more hp. You can tell because he's got the big brick." Jacob casually confirming that HP is stored in the brick. Which is why when you have a lot of HP, you always say "I'm all bricked up"
watched the vod on twitch and saw my own chat message show up at 1:27:15 saying "what did i miss?" and just went. sweetie. everything. god. glad to see the final vod in full w good quality!
Just in case anyone else reads "final vod" and panics that the series is ending for some reason, I just want to clarify that was not what this commenter meant
Something I really love about FromSoft games is how they are basically rhythm games hidden inside a badass RPG wrapper. That's why the boss music is always so important- the bosses attack in the same time signature as the music.
I've always thought that was just... how you take care of Djura. With how fast he is, and how much HP he has otherwise in a small arena with no edge guards, I thought it was like a puzzle boss where the whole point is to matador him off the cliff.
As an invoker I am happy with the agreement, though watch thou words carefully mortal streamers. Any talking shitted will get you many a smiting of your electronic components. Talk shitted, get hitted. 🧙♀️❤
The ease at which Julia performs like a veteran in all of the fromsoft games is genuinely astounding. I had to work hundreds of hours to be that good and she's just like there
Totally feel the chat saying they hate how good she is. It's absolutely astounding how quickly she breezed through Old Yarnham, and then she casually pulls a "like its hard?"
Was surprised Jacob was surprised, I thought cheezing Djura off the tower was a time honored bloodborne tradition, guess he's too good at these games to have ever had to resort to such underhanded tactics...
So glad you guys brokered a peace agreement with the Invokers and Evokers. They catch a lot of flack, but they're essential to the spell casting community, as well as to the greater balance of the unknowable forces that rule the infinite realms, upon which we are dependent for our magic.
I have a baby niece who is learning to talk and god I feel Julia when she says she shouldn't be around little creatures that repeat stuff. Like yes Izzy I am proud that you can sign "wheels on the bus" and you know how to count to ten. Very proud but I heard you the first 10 times. This is one reason why I'm happy to be an uncle and not a father.
god i feel this so much. when my niece and nephew were at this stage it was a lot of me teaching my nephew to be a gamer so he would give me a moment of quiet and then my niece coming out of nowhere demanding to dance. kids are fun but my god so exhausting for more than a day. 😂
It's very funny to me that Jacob is like "I don't think I ever bought the lantern" and I'm over here with my emotional support light so that I can go through the spooky halls and tunnels without being scared XD
SPOILER FOR JACOB Jacooooooob, Gehrman can only shmoove when the Moon Presence grants him the ability too, as showcased in his boss fight by needing to bask in the moonlight to be able to keep shmooving, silly He IS a sympathetic elderly wheelchair user who is being taken advantage of, not a big ol’ faker
Part of it, a week of buffer gives me enough time to work out any issues that might come up. It also gives me time to work on thumbnails, and stitch together videos if necessary. More recently, it allows me to work on subtitles before the video goes up. -Khaztaroth
I can't believe you do all this stuff yourself! (At least I think you do?) It's genuinely super impressive. And I'm not complaining about the week long delay, honestly that's pretty fast considering how much content you have to sift through imo-with timestamps, sometimes even just for specific triggers, plus the awesome captions, and everything else-Idk I just think it's really cool haha
I'm gonna be That Person who already commented but has something else to say (idk if Jacob and Julia even read these comments but): PLEASE don't spend all your insight I'm lichrally begging. The way the world changes as your insight grows is one of the coolest parts of the game imo. It would be such a shame to miss out on that on a first playthrough, especially for a player like Julia who seems to care a lot about the details of the world.
joy has decided not to summon the invokers and evokers again for this new installment of bloodbourne and let olive chill onstream instead 16:33 perfectly perched olive 29:34 curled olive is still there 31:38 olive wanted to be close 34:37 sleepy olive is unbothered 1:29:34 good cat olive is getting healthier + cardboard cat buildings 1:32:12 she resettles 1:33:30 olive reads chat + joy story + tall olive 1:35:19 olive leaves 1:51:14 olive has something to say 2:15:55 hello miss olive + she's cleaning 2:20:20 olive sneezing 2:21:28 that foot 2:23:50 see that comfy cat 2:27:57 additional pets
As an Invoker, I'm glad to see that the hostilities can cease. Bitrate magic is taxing to even the most powerful of my kind. I needed a brew most foul to rejuvenate. Pray that this is the last of this vitriol
Jacob and Julia congratulating them and saying "that's such a cool milestone" when a stream regular mentioned their 50th birthday... that changed something in me. It was such a sweet reaction, it made me think, "man, I hope I make it to 50, so I can get that kind of response too" Idk it was encouraging! I'm over halfway there as it is, with a ways to go still I think, but it's rare I'll feel *good* about the idea of aging. And that moment did it!
The bit of the fight around 1:46:50 where they're rolling through and attacking just past eachother, trading one blow then backing away then going in again, looks both like it's utterly infuriating and like a genuinely cool anime fight scene
6:00 Watching the other vods and Julia try to parry every enemy except the most parriable ones is so funny but also its killing me. They have such a long wind up, theyre so easy to stun.
When my cousin was a little kid, and already well familiar with binoculars, he asked if a monocular was called a 'half-an-ocular', so that is what I call them.
48:42 Leading theories are that it’s from the beasts sharpening their claws on the tree trunks. Tarnished Archaeologist mentioned another idea in passing, but I can’t remember what it was and it’s driving me nuts
Can I humble brag that it took me only 5 tries to beat gascoigne even tho I never played any souls game before? xD But I'm having so much fun watching Julia play, it motivated me to pick up the game after 4 years again and give it another try. Having an absolute blast!
All the taking of aging reminded me that I’m almost 20 but been watching drawfee for 8 years- I’m no math man but that’s close to half my life so far… hm
Julia’s doing so well because she’s skipping that step that some of us have when we’re a little hesitant to get in and do some business. When I see an opponent like the Bloodstarved Beast, I’m nowhere near them the first few tries.
Its weird hearing jacob saying he was an adult at his mom's 50th, meanwhile I was in middle school when my parents turned 50 as my parents had me at 37. This year they'll be 62
Glad Jacob didn't discourage Julia from upgrading the saw cleaver (it seemed like the first ep he was saying maybe hold on to upgrade items for some possible future weapon), at least as long as it's just taking bloodstone shards (and maybe in to twins) I'm a big proponent of "love the one you're with," those drop with enough frequency that unless you're planning on something you know you're just about to get you'll likely be swimming in them by the time you want to level something else, and having a few levels on your weapon in the meantime and not doing chip damage to everything definitely makes the the early mid game more enjoyable and less annoying.
i think it's more that she's not putting blechoes into the stats that the saw cleaver scales with? so that she doesn't have to respecc if she vibes better with a different weapon.
One other thing you can say about the lore/story is that your character is looking for the Healing Church (maybe to heal a malady; that's not totally clear). It's most obvious in the conversation with the sick guy behind the window near one of the first lanterns.
Hey guys, love your content be it drawfee or SSS. I'm doing a first run of Bloodborne as well and I'm using your streams as a sort of companion, trying my best to do all the main fights at the same time as Julia. When you got to the gatlin gun tower guy, I watched Julia do her first try just to get a glimpse at what was going to happen, and once the guy rolled off the tower I thought "I wish I was this lucky". I shit you not, the exact same thing happened to me too.
52:00 re bloodborne remake: I know a BB remake would make a ton of money. Everyone loves bloodbourne. On the other hand, it still looks great (30 fps not withstanding). A remake would almost ruin parts of it for me, in a lot of ways. Kinda like how a lot of the animations and effects in the Demons Souls remake got a bit... out there. I don't really want a Bloodbourne remake. I want a re-release, full stop, especially on PC.
My moms greys are actually sparkly white and she has a streak right down the middle of her head and it just looks so badass! And the best part is that she herself loves it and it brings her so much confidence.
Things I absolutely NEVER in my life in ten million years thought I would EVER hear… Julia singing I believe I Can Fly. 👀👀👀👀LMAO that really threw me. Also, Jesus H. Christ Julia is WILD at this game. Get ‘em Julia!
🚨🚨🚨ROBIN HOBB MENTION🚨🚨🚨 Those have been my favorite books for years, I loooove that series But also hearing that Jacob has only read Farseer and Fitz and the Fool is insane, literally the wildest way to read the series fbdbdb
I'm honestly surprised Jacob said he's never seen Djura fall off the tower before, that most times happens when I fight him in my playthroughs. In the middle of the fight he just falls to his death each time
Anybody else watching this in 2032? I remember watching this in 2024, it was humid as balls and I fell asleep because I had a sore neck from being in my 30s and accidentally turning my head too quick. When I woke up, my wife had brought home donuts. Codeine is a hell of a drug, stay in school kids.
Watching Julia use up 60% of her stamina on attacks, dodge away, then use the last of her stamina to dodge back in. Then have no stamina to attack, and get bitchslapped is just gonna be a staple of this playthrough, eh?
It's funny, I've watched two people play this bit and both of them accidentally got buddy to fall off the tower. I'd just assume that was the intended kill if Jacob hadn't said otherwise.
